Does anyone remember the Yumbo? Way back in the annals of my mind I recall the Yumbo, a massive ham and cheese sandwich on a bun that BK had in the late 70s or early 80s, but I don’t know what happened to it. That was a winner in my book. For whatever reason, BK just hasn’t had the mindshare in our family that McDonald’s has ever since the Yumbo. But you can’t fault them for trying — from The King to Subservient Chicken to their new $ 1 breakfast muffin sandwiches, they just aren’t giving up. We stopped in at Burger King to try out the dollar menu, and the muffin sandwich — about the same as the Sausage McMuffin with Egg was pretty good. The hash browns weren’t bad either. The only problem that we ran into was the ordering. When we ordered a «small», thinking it was the $ 1 size, the cashier asked if we wanted a «value» size, and not wanting to get the jumbo size, we said no. It turns out that the«value» size is the $ 1 size, which comes in the paper bag. The«small» is the«large», which costs something like $ 1.29, and comes in the cardboard sleeve. Why can’t they make these things easy?
