Seagar’s

Literally my favorite restaurant in the area. I don’t eat steak but everyone we’ve brought here raves about the filet. 2 lb lobster is phenomenal were talking the best I’ve ever eaten… Asparagus side is shaved and comes with whipped hollandaise — also a favorite as is their Mac and cheese. Bananas foster is a fun experience for dessert and they make it at the table — as is the caesar salad! Can’t say enough good things about this place do yourself a favor and eat here!!!

The food is fabulous and reserve 4 – 5 stars. The way we were treated waiting for our table deserves a zero.
We had a reservation for 5 at 9:00 pm. The hostess let us know it would be a little while before our table was ready. After 10 minutes, my daughter and sister decided to check out the gift shop at the top of the stairs outside.
At 9:20, after being the only people waiting since 9:05, a gentleman walked to the front and asked what we were waiting for. We told him our table. He said we would have been seated as soon as we arrived if we had all of our people. I told him we did and they stepped out since we were told there would be a wait. He disagreed, basically calling me a liar.
I walked outside and called my sister and daughter to come down. We had a great meal. I would have asked to speak to a manager but I believe Mr Rude was the manager based upon his attire.
Why call your patron a liar? Also, snarky and condescending are unpleasant attitudes that do not make a restaurant exclusive or special. They just leave a bad taste in your mouth even after the great food.

It’s basically a Capital Grille or Mortons with slightly higher prices. The Ruth Chris is a lot better and has two large bars areas. Outdoor and indoor.
My favorite in Destin is Cuvée Destin

I got very sick after eating here, vomiting my entire expensive meal from food poisoning. Avoid.

This was an amazing experience. From the delicious food to the quick and attentive service, this restaurant is one of the best. We were celebrating our wedding with a small wedding party in the secluded wine room and couldn’t have felt more relaxed and attended too. Our server was very knowledgeable and my husband ordered one of the described nightly specials — grilled boar chops — amazing. I ordered the Filet Mignon and the mashed potatoes on the side. Make sure you have some one to share your sides with as they come in big portions. The steak and boar chops were seasoned perfectly and cook exactly the way we wanted. The potatoes were velvety and very enjoyable. You feel very taken care of as your 1^st course dinner ware is removed and replaced with the second or dinner course dinner ware. This restaurant also has an extensive wine and drink menu all conveniently on an IPad they hand you for choosing beverages for individuals as well as the table. For special occasions this place is highly recommended. For good food and a good atmosphere, this place is also recommended.

Absolutely amazing! Top 5 restaurant for me in U.S. because of the steak and wines! The chocolate soufflé is also incredible. We had the same waiter — 2 years apart since last visit! He is fabulous!

This place is very hit or miss with the service for a 4 diamond establishment. The last 2 out of three visits we had bad experiences. Won’t be back. Not worth the money.

We recently were in Miramar to celebrate another couple’s 20^th wedding anniversary and they selected Seagar’s as the dining destination for the evening. I had never been there but had heard very good things about the fare and service.
We were seated almost immediately upon arrival, thanks to our reservation, and offered cocktails while we perused the wine list. The two Key Lime martinis that we ordered were amazing… like dessert in liquid form. I selected reasonably priced bottles of merlot and cab sav ($ 70 and $ 80, respectively) and chatted with the sommelier, Myers, about the fact that they actually carry bottles of Château Latour. Both bottles were delicious (Sonoma) and we conversed at a very relaxed pace while our server, Scott, described the specials of the evening.
My wife and I opted to share the surf-​n-​turf special, along with French onion soup, wedge salad, and house mac-​n-​cheese. The whole lobster arrived sectioned completely down the center, (which was bizarre and cool at the same time,) and the filet mignon was cooked to a perfect medium and butterflied. The soup was outstanding, the salad standard and hearty, and macaroni on a new level of delicious. Our companions’ meal was also great, as they ordered the same entrée.
So, after cappuccinos and dessert, we lingered and conversed with the sous chef at our table. The bill arrived… and to our surprise, the anniversary couple insisted they pay. I objected repeatedly but without success. Total with tax and tip — $ 780.

Bottom line: quite enjoyable, special occasion establishment, unless you are very wealthy. I did not like the layout or décor (reminded me of outdated 80s dinner club.) Food and service were impeccable, but be ready to pay for it.

Great food and service. Filet was thick, with beautiful char, tender… great wine list, perfect Martinis, very good service. Sat at bar before dinner next to a couple (locals) who said it was one of the best restaurants in Destin/​Sandestin.

Great food and service! Mixed drinks were also really good! It is pricey but I would compare it to other good steak houses and the prices compare. I had fried lobster for my appetizer, filet mignon with Mac and cheese and creamed spinach !! Yummy! Cleaned my plate and the service is top notch!

Wow. The service? Absolutely outstanding. Best I have ever experienced. Sandy was an absolute joy. She could tell us about anything on the menu and knew exactly what we were wanting. The food? Unbelievable. All but one steak came out perfect, and they were more than happy to cook it to perfection. The mac and cheese was great, the french onion soup was great, and just about everything theydid was great. I highly recommend this place to anyone willing to spend $$$$ on a dinner. Ths only problem we had was getting there. Was a little weird going through security gates to get there but was well worth the trip.

It’s been a long time since I’ve been in Destin, and I was thrilled when the decision was made that we would go to Seagar’s (Seagars?) tonight; it was my grandfather’s favourite place here and it kept solid that he thought it was a step above most other places in the area. Patrick was very informative and rattled off detailed answers to any questions we had. His service was unparalleled. I’m only used to the attention that was paid us tonight in the likes of Manhattan and Europe. I can see my grandfather’s attraction to this restaurant; it’s beautifully lain out and an open kitchen is so much fun for foodie diners that know how much pressure that can involve. I’m a bigger whiskey fan than most and got to try some wonderful offerings from that menu. I had a dry-​aged Kansas City Ribeye that was not only prime, but perfectly cooked. I only wish that I could have dined with y’all when the 40-​day dry aged was available. The addition of roasted garlic heads to the steak dishes makes an unbelievable difference. Hats off. Later in the night, I was fortunate enough to meet Wes and Katie, whom not only seem like valuable assets to your restaurant, but grand ambassadors; as others that heard us talk became very interested in visiting you soon. You don’t find service and warmth and wonderful cuisine like this often anywhere and we think y’all are just an absolute gem. Can’t wait to dine with you again and hope that the magic that we experienced tonight is contagious as we recommend you to friends coming here this summer. Tell the chef we loved it and next time we promise, we’ll order dessert.

Down the stairs from the Lobby area at the Hilton awaits a doorway to culinary satisfaction. My daughter and I arrived without a reservation, and despite being relatively busy for about 7:30 PM on a Friday, we were shown to a table with very little perturbation shown from the staff. Kona coffee, strong but smooth, revitalized me after the long drive. House bread and butter proved fresh and satisfying. We each had filet, mine with au poivre and a delightful house reduction accompaniment which magnified the flavor. We shared sides of mac and cheese (which is elevated far above the mundane variety here), creamed corn, and onion rings. All sides exposed a unique twist of taste, and did not disappoint. Sadly, we were overmatched, and could not meet the soufflé challenge Sandy and Zane presented at the culmination of our experience. We give high recommendations for Seagars, as you can deduce from this positive review!

Seated at the bar area to wait for our table, the waiter spilled the tray with drinks on my husband and me. Lots of apologies, we get it things happen but not one time did they offer the drinks for free. At least one? 6 of us visited 6 drinks $ 75. On to dinner steaks are yummy and cooked to perfection. Side items are extra. 3 couples dined with a $ 250 gift card to share. Total bill $ 560 she never did bring the bill but said she can take care of the gift card and the rest can be split 3 ways. She stood there until she got 3 cards. If anyone does the math the left over should be about $ 310. We each got a bill for $ 119. At the time we didn’t bother adding it up. Left tip on original amount. Same evening we check the bank account they charged the full $ 560 plus the $ 119 on my husbands debit card. Somehow his card number was stolen the same night and we had 2 fraudulent charges for another $ 200 had to cancel card. Not sure if this is a coincidence at all. The $ 560 was on hold for 3 days!!! Not happy at all. Will not go back. We still have no idea what happened to the extra $ 50 on the gift card that never got returned.

We recently visited Seagar’s again when we were down in Destin for a visit, and I have to say, this place is the perfect «special occasion» restaurant! The food is wonderful, yes, but it goes beyond that. Our first visit to the restaurant was after my husband and I renewed our vows on the beach. We reserved the private room and 9 of us (including our 5 & 7 year old daughters) had dinner. I cannot say enough good things about our experience. The staff went above and beyond to make sure our party was comfortable. Any stuffy stereotypes my family may have had beforehand were thrown out the window. The servers even made makeshift beds for our daughters to lie down on when they got tired! We love the love piano music playing in the background and the atmosphere is warm and beautiful! I would highly recommend Seagar’s and we can’t wait to go back!

Seagars is located in the Hilton Hotel and specializes in Prime Steaks.
Food– The starters we had were fantastic; French onion soup, and warm spinach salad. The steaks were good, but have had many just as good or better. Maple, hazelnut crem brûlée was very good as was the espresso.
They have a great wine list and many unique drinks.
Ambience– The décor is very nice and the piano player is a nice touch that is not to loud but provides some nice mood setting music.
Service was Great!!!

Unfortunately we came back again as we LOVED it so much the last time. The food was just ok but the service was horrible! We were rushed through our meal and told by the server that it was because they had huge parties coming in. When you are spending as much as we did on a meal that should NOT matter. In fact it shouldn’t matter period!
For us to order cavier, plus apps, plus meal, plus desert it should be enjoyed slowly if we desire as that is what we loved so much last time. Not get rushed through it and told by our server why like we were not just as important as the larger parties coming in. It was NOT enjoyable at all! Unfortunately We will probably not be back again. Sucks because our first experience here was so amazing and we had very high expectations. Made us both pretty sad!

We went to this restaurant and loved it. The staff was great and the food was excellent. It is pricey, but its delicious.
We both had the special which was a bone in filet. It was great. They have huge asparagus which we both prefer.
John was our server… he was on top of everything
Bob was the wine guy and he and I talked wine for a little while. He is very knowledgeable and friendly.
Only thing we didn’t like was where we were sitting. It was very close to the entrance and we could hear the conversations of the hostess. We were later told what tables to request (51 or 52). These are supposed to give you a better view of the open kitchen and not have much traffic.
We will go back.
