Boy, this is a tough one. Went there today around 11:30 am for breakfast. They have quite a menu, including an all you can eat fish thing on Fridays. I ordered a Bacon lovers omelet, with allegedly 6 pieces of bacon in it, with toast and hash browns. Just for the hell of it, I also ordered a grilled cheese sandwich. The place has a nice homey feel, the waitress was very accommodating, prompt and checked my coffee well, without hovering. The tables that were there, about 3, turned to greet the new people as they all seemed to know each other, and that made me feel I was in a warm and friendly place. OK, with that out of the way, lets get down to the food. Hmm, how to do this without being a prick… The omelet was good, tasty, though it seemed rather small for the 4 eggs the menu said it contained, and, as the menu further explained, if it indeed had 6 pieces of bacon it it, they must have been Banzai bacon strips, as all I discovered in my average sized egg creation was the usual amount of chopped bacon, no way more than about 2 small strips. The fries I got with my grilled cheese were very underdone, and the toast was cold, as well as the grilled cheese being soggy on one side. Coffee was average diner grade coffee, with cream provided in liquid prepackaged containers in bowls. This is a hard rate for me, because, the place had the good vibes of a really great place to get your morning nosh on, but was a tad short on execution. Toast should never be cold, if you claim 6 pieces of bacon, make bacon roar in an omelet. I will come back to this place on a Friday, to check out the all you can eat fish quality. I get the impression that the cook is either overloaded or underquallified to make this potentially wonderful place consistently rock out the impressive menu. Will rate again very soon. I still gave it 3 stars, as I feel the love. To be continued…
