I have never been insulted so much in my life until yesterday when i showed up for an appointment with the Dr. Clarefield at his office in Mission Hills. When I get to the office the receptionist Sandra asked me that I have been cancelling too many times specially my previous appointment and I have not called them to cancel so they are going to charge me $ 25 for that. I told them I usually cancel my appointments and did make a call to cancel, but it is ok if they think they want to charge me $ 25 and I gave them my credit card. So they can charge, as I was waiting for my card back the Nurse Saundra whom seems to always have an attitude and is the person whom called me earlier this year and inform me that they have a new receptionist now and many people were complaining about the old receptionist attitude so they had to hire a new receptionist and asked me to consider coming back to their office since things have changed for better told the new receptionist that I was lying. This is when I just got up and responded to her you do not need to call me a liar, even if I made a mistake and forgot to call to cancel my previous appointment. I told her I am not going to be insulted just because I wanted to see the Doctor today. If you are going to talk like that to me as patient or anybody in fact, they don’t understand the meaning of customer care and they are in a wrong field.

I moved to the US7 years ago from Australia and it was very important to me to find a GP I could trust. I was recommended to Dr. Clarfield and I’ve never looked back. He really, truly cares about his patients, and it shows in his«bedside manner» and his attention to detail. What I particularly appreciate is that Dr. Clarfield asks about your diet! He asks about nutrition, and his first inclination is to work with you to find a lifestyle cure instead of just prescribing lots of pills. That was really refreshing to me. The staff are also lovely. I’ve noticed that everything runs particularly smoothly since they moved to their own, non-shared space on the 2nd floor. Two big thumbs up for Dr. Clarfield and his team!

Dr. Clarfield is a personable, caring and friendly doctor. He really knows medicine and unlike a lot of other doctors I have seen over the years, he actually takes the time to listen to you, examine you and consult with you about the best options available as needed. I cannot say enough about his services and recommend Dr. Clarfield highly.

Very professional and knowledgeable, friendly staff and Dr. Joel is the best! Always makes me feel at ease. The ladies in the office are so sweet too. Always a great and thorough job done here and they all know me personally which is an added bonus.

Dr is fantastic and I have had no issues with any of the office staff. Always professional and polite. Positives: This Dr will really do a great job of examining you and checking your history. He spends a lot of time with you and really gets to know you and your health history. Downside: My time is just as important as his. As many of my other reviews have mentioned when it comes to Dr’s. I don’t like to wait in a waiting room for any longer than 15 minutes and 45 minutes is unacceptable. I was there the other day and was there for a total of 3 hours, 45 min in the waiting room and more waiting inside. I guess that is because he spends so much 1×1 time with patients. My solution to that is to try and book appts right after lunch or 1st thing in the AM. Aside from that I REALLY think he is an excellent Dr so far, but I unfortunately I can’t take off for 3 hrs so if it is like that more often than not, I will have to go back to my previous Dr. :(

The doctor is wonderful! The office manager Sandra is not! She never respond back to messages and God forbid if you need her to call a pharmecy or provide you with your record! Good luck getting it done!
