So I’m kind of a regular here when in town. The staff in my eyes are AMAZING! Everyone is friendly and ready to take care of your needs. My check ins are always quick and I’m quite comfortable when I stay here. Breakfast are pretty good and the chefs are nice. House keeping is great, flexible to my needs and the staff at the front desk are amazing with my kids especially Kelly… I tend to see her most often and she’s really warm and friendly and I truly appreciate that as a single dad. Its in a small town but next to several parks a bunch of good restaurants, a great pizza place(Ball Park Pizza) next door and minutes from a movie theatre. Until I move into the area permanently I will continue to stay here.

The staff at this hotel is first class, from the front desk to housekeeping services. A huge shout-out to Esteban, from housekeeping, who went above and beyond when I recuperated from major surgery at this hotel in the fall of 2015. He respected my privacy, offering fresh towels when I was unable to get out of bed(a family member who was staying with me would answer the door for me), and later, he even left a note of encouragement for me, when he knew I had a follow-up appointment with my doctor. The complimentary meals that are offered from Monday through Thursday evenings were a nice perk, so I didn’t have to go out and spend more money on dinners! Every front desk person was friendly and professional. I felt at home from the moment I arrived until the morning I left. I will definitely return to this hotel whenever I’m in Orange County, CA!

The staff was so nice! When I checked in I had a situation and needed to cancel one of my nights. They understood and cancelled it with no hassle. I got to the room and it was amazing. There was a ton of space everything looked and felt clean and welcoming. There is a ceiling fan in the room and an air conditioner so you don’t have that stuffy feeling. Breakfast was awesome… scrambled eggs, choice of breads and bagels, oatmeal bacon, sausage, hash browns and it was all delicious! This place is an amazing get away and still close enough to stores and civilization, I would return in a heartbeat.

There was a soccer tournament the weekend we were here. It was very full with lots of kids running about(especially early in the a.m. but that’s not a fault of the establishment. They were also under renovation but it didn’t hamper our stay which was appreciated. I would describe the hotel décor as «old world». Other reviewers seemed to have an issue with it but we thought it was fine. Our room was large. King bed, leather couch, mini fridge/kitchen area. Very comfortable. The room had feather pillows and comforter(which I’m allergic to) but it’s my bad for forgetting to request an hypoallergenic room. Luckily I had my own pillow. I’m sure they would’ve switched us but we got in so late each night that we just wanted to fall in bed. And what an inviting, cozy bed it was! Free breakfast of eggs, bacon, hash browns, oatmeal, toasts, sausage and more. Tasty AND free. Good stuff! It was a good stay. We would readily stay here again

Firtstly I think the prior reviewer was confused, there isnt a 4th floor here so I dont know where room 410 would be. Maybe 310? Regardless, this place is not a one star establishment by any means. The front desk staff has been great — greeted me, joked with me, helped me with genuine enthusiasm. I typically avoid hotel functions like ‘free’ this and ‘happy hour’ that but after talking with some of the staff I took advantage of the free breakfast and will probably attend their dinner happy hour. The room — spacious for one or two people for sure. My room has a bar sink with a coffee maker, microwave and mini-fridge(not stocked). I’m here on business so this is almost more than I would expect or need but its nice to have. The bathroom is clean and tidy, nothing out of the ordinary but at least the shower head has a flow of water I dont need to suffer through to get wet. It actually works(which is surprisingly uncommon with some of the hotels Ive stayed). The green sleeve — I dont know about the prior reviewer but I think this is awesome. I dont have to feel bad about leaving lights on or any of that stuff and i dont walk out the door without my card, its right there. The front desk explained it to me so I knew exactly what to do. Bed is comfortable and clean. Cons — okay there is a slight mildew smell… somewhere. I cant place it and it has driven me a little bonkers trying to find what it is. My first guess is this side of the hotel gets early and late afternoon sun without relent. My room was an inferno when I came in and they have wall AC/heating units, maybe something is leaking? I dont know but to be honest its really not that big of a deal and I here for a few days. Safe! I need a safe or something sturdy to cable lock my gear to. If you are catering to business people some of them may need to lock their equipment down. Pet peeve of mine is glass work tables. 9⁄10 optical mice dont work on them at all but I have stayed in $ 400 executive suites that cant figure that part out. Not really a con but yes the view is useless but to be honest if you are coming to Mission Viejo for a view you should really continue on to another part of California. For the price and the amenities I’d not only stay here again but I plan on telling other associates to stay here too. Well worth it.

Oh Ayres Family, how could you do this to me! After all these wonderful years of loyalty, hundreds of nights spent snuggled soft in your warm, cozy covers and thousands of warm greetings by you staff… you just have to create this epic fail of a hotel. Why, oh why, would you do this to me? So, here’s the skinny. I book on Priceline and I am actually pretty excited in that I won The Ayres Suites for a mere 55 dollars a night. I arrive and speak to a very polite gentleman whom looks into the computer for my reservation but is unable to located it. I bring up the confirmation email on my phone and he informs me that I am in the wrong building. I had stumbled into the Suites and Spa, but I was booked for the Suites. No big deal, just across the parking lot. As myself and my assistant emerge into the lobby of the Ayres Suites, I am given a nasty look by the woman working the check-in area. Ok, maybe she is just having a hard day. She runs my credit card and tells me it has been declined. I ask her to run it again. Its a new Amex, nowhere close to its(wonderful) limit. She refuses. I ask her if I am able to leave a cash deposit. She literally points outside and says there is an ATM at the CVS. I felt that she was pushing me out. Luckily, I had some extra cash on me and was able to give her the 120 dollar deposit for the room. I am assigned to room 410. We make our way to the elevators, which I swear to Jebus, were stolen from the sunken remains of the Titanic… complete with«Help me, I’m drowning» type music. Walking down the hallway, not much better. The designer totally missed the décor class in trade school with this one. Victorian style and country cottage, yea, they dont work together. I find 410, and open the door to a stagnant room complete with dirty carpet, squeaky beds and a window that looks over Mission Viejo’s lovely Toll Road. Unfortunately, I was in a hurry to a meeting and I couldnt ask for another room. I return back from my meeting around 9pm and when I reach for the light switch, nothing happens. I walk down to the front desk and I am told you need to put your key card into a slot on the wall in order to have electricity! Seemed like some Motel 6 type stuff to me. I proceed to set up my computer on the work station, which is wobbling all over the place, so much so that I spill my coffee all over the place. Then, the final straw was the jagged piece of wood at the bottom of said work station that sliced the side of my foot open. I cant believe that the Ayres brand would allow this bastardized abomination happen. Wont return.
