Coldwater Creek

Coldwater Creek is an American women’s clothing and accessory retailer that sells their products in catalogs, online and stores. While living in Hawaii, I never knew actual «stores» existed until moving to the Mainland. I have never paid any attention to their products because their styles always seemed «older» and never suited my taste.
This past weekend while shopping at the Mall, I noticed large yellow signs across their front glass windows and doors stating that the store would be closing down in a few days. Apparently everything was for sale at 75 — 90% off, including their display shelves and computers.
My cousin and I entered their store just out of curiosity, but after quickly browsing through many of their racks, walked out with just a couple of scarves. Their boring blouses were still too bland for me along with their original outrageous prices, so I could see why their clothing weren’t flying off of their shelves even with their insane markdowns.
It’s sad to see another American company fold, but I can’t say that they’ll be missed…

I like cardigans here. The women that work the floor and usually very nice and welcoming. Last time I was there they had free drinks and treats :)

I love the clothes at Coldwater Creek. Yes it is expensive, but I try not to pay full price.
I love their «Shape Me» jeans.
I do find it hard to shop on line only because not everything is true to size. The only thing I don’t like there are their sweaters. They do not usually hand wash well. They stretch out and pill. Just say «No» to sweaters.
The service is always friendly and I’ve had no problems returning items bought on line or in the stores..
So find me at Coldwater Creek when there’s a sale on.
Just a footnote: Coldwater Creek outlet stores (at Outlet Malls) usually don’t have very good prices. Most of their stock is only 20−30% off regular price. I always thought Outlet stores should be 60% off or more. In my dreams.

I really want to like this store, but they make it so difficult. Most of the clothing is cute and contemporary, but cheaply made of inferior fabrics at ridiculous prices. There are no less than 8 sales people on the floor at any given time, but only 1 working the register. The sales people will bend over backward to help you find a particular item or size, but that’s where the service ends. When I returned some items that were purchased through their website, I may have well said I wanted to kill a puppy on the counter. The clerk was RUDE. She argued with me about my receipt (turns out she was wrong), argued about the number of items I returned (wrong again) and then threw my credit card on the counter when she was finished with it. When the transaction was complete, she simply said «there ya go». I responded with «you’re welcome» and only then did she say thank you. I guess Coldwater Creek isn’t suffering in this economy and can afford to lose customers who expect congenial service. Good luck with that.
