We actually met Jeff, the maker/owner of the Jeff’s Famous Beef Jerky today at his little set up in the Village Faire, Big Bear Lake. He was very friendly. He gave us variety of samples to try before purchasing. The meat is not dry or tough which I like. There are a lot of flavors to choose from original flavor to sweet and spicy flavors. I personally like the Black Pepper and Sea Salt. We bought Jalapeño Carne Asada, Pacific Red Hot Chili Pepper, Sriracha Ghost Chili Pepper and the Black Pepper and Sea Salt. They have a Jerky Sale, 3 for $ 20. We took advantage of the deal and bought 6 bags! Lol. While we were paying at the counter, Jeff came over and gave us a bag of beef sticks for free! What a cool guy! If you happen to be at Big Bear, stop by the Village Faire and make sure to buy Jeff’s Famous Beef Jerky. If you are lucky like us, you just might meet Jeff!

Jeff’s Gourmet Jerky’s address label reads, «Premium Beef. Intense Flavor. Irresistible.» I would have to agree. It is made of real steak and you can definitely tell. I was introduced to this premium jerky when I purchased a bag of the Black Pepper and Sea Salt flavor at Cowboy Dan’s Jerky Emporium. This flavor is a little bit spicy with the black pepper but has a nice smoky flavor to it. From their website, I have also tried the Old Fashioned Original Flavor. This one is for the beef jerky purists. You can truly taste the flavor of steak here. The last flavor I have tried from this company is the Jalapeño Carne Asada which reads Mildly Spicy on the label. It seriously tastes like carne asada. It wasn’t that spicy to me. It has a superb flavor. I think this is my new favorite flavor. Other flavors that they carry are Sweet Teriyaki, Orange A Peel, Cranberry Jalapeño and Cajun Style Medium Hot. This jerky is very moist and soft. It is not like the kind you buy at 7 – 11 where you have to tear it away from your teeth with your hand. This company is Orange County-based in Mission Viejo, so it’s always great to support a local business. Cowboy Dan’s Jerky Emporium carries it in their store and on their website, or you can also order the jerky directly from Jeff’s Gourmet Jerky website at I would recommend signing up for their email club, so you can be emailed the deals that they offer and so you can enter in their«Win Free Beef Jerky for a Year» contest. Six of their flavors have a five star rating from«Best Beef Jerky, Beef Jerky Reviews,» which is a blog that reviews all things beef jerky. I have to agree. Jeff’s Gourmet Jerky is definitely five-star stuff.
