I spent three full days in the archives this past week and the experience was a pleasant one. The staff of archivists are all friendly and live to help people find what they are searching for, whether it be genealogical records, BIA files, or general government coorespondence. The cost to make copies is steep, which is twenty cents per copy, so if your research is extensive, this can really add up. If you are planning to do research at the archives, it is best to call ahead and plan a trip as much in advance as possible, because there is limited space in the research room, and it takes time to pull files from the archives.
