Picked up an order the other night and the staff was incredibly kind and speedy. The food was delicious and the service was great. Will I be back? Most definitely! Highlight: house special chicken. Try it, you’ll love it.

We ordered House Special Chicken and Broccoli Beef for dinner. Both entrees were EXTREMELY sweet, especially the chicken. Maybe they’re just trying to keep up with America’s sweet tooth but this is not what I care for. 1 Star for food quality; 3 stars for service — prepared quickly and still hot when I got home so 2 stars.

Good food and great service. The daytime manager is awesome and really goes out of his way to make his customers feel welcome. This store is never busy, or at least not when I’m around so I home we don’t ever loose this particular location. Thank you for the extra egg and garlic in my fried rice.

I love this Pick Up Stixs location. Service is the best and they have the most friendly staff. Food always comes out fast and good and the manager Alfredo is always so nice and provides A+ customer service every time.

My family has been eating Pick up Stix since it was known only as Stix. Over the years the quality along with portion size has decreased significantly. The reason for this review is to address the inconsistent quality of food they produce. If you order house special beef or house special chicken it’s almost a guarantee that it will be overcooked or undercooked. Another issue is the sauce will be runny and the meat will be bland. A couple nights ago we ordered two portions of house chicken and it was awful. The chicken was undercooked and chopped into huge chunks which I’ve never seen before. It would benefit everyone greatly if they stepped up their game and focused more on quality. There used to be a sign at Pick Up Stix it that said something along the lines of «thank you for patiently waiting but our food takes longer to cook because of the fresh ingredients, but it’s worth the wait» I’m sure others would agree that you guys are sacrificing quality by rushing food out the door. I hate to be that guy complaining but its my hard earned money, from here on out if I’m unhappy in any way, I’m letting you guys know. The one thing the Mission Viejo location has going for it is the friendly employees, they’re outstanding. *I also posted a picture of the awful house chicken I was served and maybe I’ll get some feedback from corporate…

Service here is very slow and it would be nice to be greeted when you walk I the door, especially when you’re the only customer in the joint.

This is the best Pick Up Stix in the area, with a really friendly and well trained staff, a great inside and outside dining area, and a better tasting product than their counterparts. I came in on a Thursday afternoon for lunch and the restaurant was completely empty. Very clean and very inviting; CNN was on the TV so I figured I’d get caught up on the news for that day while having an egg roll on my lunch break… I was promptly and pleasantly greeted by the cashier who made a number of lunch item suggestions. She was all smiles and eager to provide a great experience… I usually get the chicken, but settled for the house special beef during this visit. I love the combination of sauce and seasoning, but the gristle laden meat that other Pick Up Stix use has always turned me off. I «upgraded» to an egg roll, which was a new option for me, and I’m happy that I did… The egg roll was larger, crispier, and much more flavorful than the one I usually got with the lunch special in the past. Don’t know if this is a new option or if it is specific to this location, but it’s a very good alternative. In the past I usually picked white rice as the side option, but this time around I went for their chow mein. So pleased that I had and will from now on get it with every dish. The chow mein is always made to order and outrageously good… By far the best part of the lunch dish. Pros: Prompt friendly service and a very hot, freshly made lunch plate. Cons: The beef was like eating heavily sauced shoe leather. In the past I’ve always thought twice about dining at Pickup Stix, either because the food quality was not up to par at one location or the rotating staff were rude at another, but this location in Mission Viejo hits the mark. It’s a great little restaurant hidden in a not-so-great shopping complex… My only beef with the visit was the beef, so the next time I visit I’ll make sure I’m not so chicken to get the chicken.

This place is really close so we have ordered take out from there quite a few times.(Would not consider eating there because it is so noisy you can’t hear yourself think.) Most of the past times have been ok, tho the food is somewhat marginal. Too sweet for me. But, tonight was exceptionally irritating. Tried to place the order(for pickup) online. The system said we couldn’t have it for days. So, we go old school and use the phone. My husband had to repeat everything at least twice. When we get it home, some items were missing from the order. I tried to call and let them know, and was put on hold for at least 5 minutes. I decided to hang up and just post here. Sorry to be negative to a local business, but seriously, how hard can it be to get the stupid rice — which costs extra — in the bag with the rest of the stuff?

This sticks is great, it’s never super busy, but it competes with a few places, but when we want healthy fast tasty food, we go here! Our order is always right and we are PICKY eaters! I always get extra veggies and my husband always asks for less seasoning and onions etc… And we are always satisfied! Also you can’t beat the amount of food you get for the price! It’s great! There are new menu items too! I’m happy and impressed with pick up stix!

Because of this particular location, I will not be eating a Pick Up Stix ever again. Go to Pei Wei, they have excellent food for less money than what PUS will give you. Pei Wei’s food quality is much better, they don’t smother their food in overly sweet sauce(covering up God knows what), and they are not chintzy on the white rice either!

I came here, and ordered the garlic chicken and vegetables… I really never enjoy Pick Up Stix… the lack of flavor gets me every time. I was really craving some good garlic chicken and came here… but my craving was not met. The service was nice and friendly, and they were pretty quick — which is why I chose the middle star :)

Not sure if they got new cooks but the food seems different from the last time we order from them(6 months ago) The food is gross now!

I’ve always liked this fast food Chinese chain, until now. The chow mein was literally inedible, soaked to death in sauce, as well as the few vegetables in it. Did I mention the few pieces of meat that I paid for? We threw it out. My fried rice was somewhat tasteless, like they put all flavor and sauce in the chow mein and skipped it in the fried rice. Once again, paid for meat, and there wasn’t much in there. I believe I counted 6 small pieces. Nobody else in our group was busy complimenting the food so I guess they were not happy either. I definitely do not recommend.

The only thing I like is their brown rice. Something happened during the past year and their food doesn’t taste the same anymore. It tastes like there is a very thick coating on the food of some type of product on their food. When my husband and son go to pickup stix I eat the brown rice and eat the shrimp but the shrimp even has a coating that makes it not good.

Pick Up Stix has never been fast, but it shouldn’t take 25 minutes to get food. When we did get out food, it was cold and I had to send it back. They also ran out of brown rice(as requested) and we had to settle for white rice. Pick Up Stix can do much better!

I like Pick Up Stix but wish there was something on their menu besides house chicken that I enjoy. My favortire appetizer are the cream cheese wontons which I always get as part of the lunch special. combine that with the brown rice for $ 6.07 and you are good to go.

The fried rice and eggrolls were horrible. Super dry and bland. I will avoid this place if I can.

Ok, we’ve all eaten here. Its a 3 star place. It is fast, predictable, easy, a no brainer, and they have brown rice, which is nice. BUT This location. has something special. I don’t know what the hell it is, and I haven’t found it at ANY other location. At lunchtime, they do something magical to their Orange Peel Shrimp. But Jane, you say, how can it be magical? I thought all Pick Up Stix were the same? NO! You’re WRONG!!! If you order the lunch combo here(this experiment has been proven more than a dozen times with lunch, but never with dinner, so order after 2pm with caution) two things happen: 1.) The shrimp are SUPER crunchy. Like, just came out of the fryer crunchy. Amazingly crunchy considering how much sauce they have on them. Which leads to number two: 2.) The sauce is fan-freaking-tastic. Why? Because it is(gasp!) actually spicy!!! The way it should be with Orange Peel Shrimp! Those red peppers are not just for show, jack. The whole sauce here has a great chili pepper taste and is spicy enough for me to take notice. And it is SO good. Now…I don’t know how they do it. And at this point I don’t ask. I just hope they keep it up. And maybe that they call the Avenida Pico location by my house and tell them the secret.

It’s a chain Chinese food place. It’s not bad. It’s not fantastic. It’s just good enough. I like to get the shrimp chow mein. I avoid the entrees b/c they I don’t think they are worth the money. Price is high for what you get. Also, get the cream cheese wontons. They are pretty good.
