It really saddens me when I have to give 3 stars or less, because on my rating scale, that usually means I won’t be back. I went here for a gfs birthday dinner and the staff and owner were really accomodating. Customer service and ambiance and flexibility with pay=awesome! The chef’s board was delish, but really small in size. I think I was comparing it to the last chef’s board I had at a different place, so I am not deducting any stars for it, but it serves one, two people max. Very small pieces of cheese, maybe an ounce of each cheese. I ordered the braised short rib which had good flavor, but the meat was dry and overcooked and rubbery. A lot of people in our party felt the same way. Also, the folks who ordered one of the specials, which was a new york steak(some sort of steak) also mentioned that they were not impressed and that it didnt taste that great. The appetizers were good, I tried the fried green beans and shashito peppers. If I came back I would stick with appetizers and drinks. They have delish moscow mules and their corkage fee is reasonable, I think at $ 10, but don’t quote me.

Didn’t get to eat as my Fathers Day brunch turned into a nightmare. Showed up at 11:30. Ordered at 11:45. Left at 12:30 without food. The place had a large group show up just before us and they spent the full hour having a dish or two show up to them. Our waitress never checked in, set expectations or apologized for the wait. When we asked for updates, we were told soon. After 20 minutes we asked for our check. The manager nor the waitress were empathetic. Instead blamed the large party and suggested that they could have brought their food out first. Even though that wasn’t offered as our food was close to being done. I’ll never show up to find out if the food was any good. Especially after the crappy service.

Finally a decent British breakfast in Mission Viejo, with real sausages, real Irish bacon, eggs, tomatoes, and even baked beans. A decent portion size too for a reasonable price. Optionally have the white/black pudding or if you don’t like it get a third sausage instead. Occasionally I ask for chips with this instead of breakfast potatoes which gives me the classic sausage, egg, chips and beans lunch so loved back home. The menu here has improved over time, and also now offers curry chips featuring real English-speaking thick French fries which taste amazing. I’m trying to get the landlord(yes this is just like a real British pub) to do the trifecta and get a roast dinner on the menu but need more support… So fellow Brits, visit this place, taste the food, drink some pints of Harp or Guinness and tell them to put on a roast dinner on Sunday afternoons…

The place has a horrible over powering fish smell. … ordered a beer in a bottle and the smell found its way into the bottle… the food neighbors had looked good but no way I or my husband could eat here due to the smell…1 drink and we had to leave.

I can’t believe I didn’t find this restaurant sooner! The drinks, food and service — hands down— impeccable! Delicious Mac and Cheese, Caesar Salad and Fish and Chips! The Mac and Cheese had a Cheetos topping and I could’ve eaten more, more and more! The fish and chips was definitely a highlight– A generous portion with the tartar sauce complimenting the fish perfectly. The owner of the restaurant was extremely attentive along with his staff– checking on me all evening. I wanted to order everything on the menu… I will most certainly be back!

Nice spot for some pretty good food. We stopped by during happy hour — make sure to ask to sit at the bar or at the open tables on the left-hand side if you’re interested in happy hour. Prices are generally a buck less for select menu items, beer, wine, etc. Quite a few people here around 6:30pm on Friday but not too crowded. We ordered the pub wings(fried chicken wings with two different sauces on the side: honey mustard and Korean sweet & spicy sauce), mussels and fries, and the pub burger. I got a Magner’s(cider) that paired well with the mussels and fries. Everything was pretty good but watch out if you order medium-rare on the burger. It came out a little more rare than medium-rare…that’s for sure. The waitress took it back for them to heat up a little more but it was still kinda too rare on the inside. I’d probably just order medium or with a little pink next time, to be safe. Another reviewer was just ranting about how she ordered medium-rare and it was so juicy — not ours. I’d come back if we were in the area.

Came in about 15 min before Happy Hour ended at 7. Waited for the waitress to come by and ask what she could get for me. She came by and told me she would be right back… didn’t happen. I went to the bar and they told me Their systems turn off at 7. So I said ok, could you turn up the Volume on the TV at least I could watch a basketball game with the regular priced beer! The manager said NO. Bad experience for me here, just arrived in Town and wanted to check this place out. I won’t ever come back here again. Just a totally bad vibe and experience they showed me. I ended up going up the street to a place called High Park Tap House which was a 100% better!!!

I would eat here every day!!! This place can not be passed up. If you are thinking about going here do it! I have been there for breakfast, brunch, and Dinner. My favorite menu is Brunch mainly due to the $ 5 bottomless mimosas which tend to stay relatively full throughout my meal. They change out their menu every season depending on whats in season. Yay for fresh local ingredients! They just launched their new menu a couple days ago and my review will be dealing with this new menu. My girlfriend and I went with some sort of Spanish potatoes egg casserole, ginger orange waffles, and a breakfast burger. Honestly couldn’t have been happier with any of the items. The Egg casserole was pretty good, but became show stopping because of their sauce. I was drinking it off the plate by the end. The breakfast burger was pretty good. It has a good mix of veggies(normal hamburger affair) and the beef is clearly of high quality. It does not look super pretty but was delicious especially for those who are fans of having eggs on their burger. I have tried their past couple chicken and waffle varieties and they are always a favorite. The waffle remains crispy soft and I am pretty sure they fill it with happiness. The chicken is moist and the coating stays on very well and couldn’t go with anything other than the waffle it’s served on. Do yourself a favor and make a trip!

So obviously I wasn’t impressed. But first the good. Server Hannah, great, friendly, attentive. Almost enough to return for. Almost. Not quite. The Old Fashioned. Really well done. Loved it. That’s it. The bad, the food. Not a thing that I’d do again. Not a thing. Sliders: way too much bun for the amount of burnt to a cinder meat. So dry that it was like a charred, what, piece of meat. The fries were crumbs mostly. The chipotle ketchup wasn’t bad. The steak tacos were deconstructed and generally tasteless. Then the Fritters. Dry. Slightly burnt. No real flavor. Sorry. And all of it only a hundred dollars. Gosh guess I’ll go again. I can’t say I’ll be back. Good food and great surroundings are certainly worth the price. Unfortunately I can’t say I got any of that at Pub 33.

Pub Thirty Two is a gastropub located in an old shopping center in Mission VIejo. I have parked by it several times, as it right next to my favorite local butcher shop. I was very pleasantly surprised when we walked in since from the outside this place looks so very old and ‘70s-ish. On the inside what a difference. A cool-looking bar is what you walk into when you enter. It was packed at 5 p.m. with quite a few lively patrons at the bar. To the right, was the dining area of the pub. Since we were there to eat, we proceeded to that area. The refurb-looking décor, mirror and lighting in this place was really well done, too. I believe it was a manager who seated us at a nice table by one of the windows. Looking over the menu, it was divided into First Plates, Greens and Second Plates. There were a lot of great options. Our awesome server, Allie, greeted up warmly and asked if we had been in before. When we said, no, she proceeded to tell us about the gastropub, their bar offerenings and menu favorites of hers. She was great. Enthusiastic and honest and very helpful. We decided to start with one of the first offerings that was the Long Bean Fries. These were skinny French green beans that were grilled with crunchy salt and served with the most delicious lemon aioli. Yum! I also ordered the Mussels and Frites as I love Moules Frites and order them whenever I can. The mussels were prepared in a beer broth with Aji and Kielbasa. This added a nice kinda spicy, kinda smoky flavor to the broth and mussels. Very good. Allie recommended the popular Fish and Chips so that was also an entrée we ordered. These reminded me of authentic Fish and Chips I have had in England. Three pieces of fish perfectly cooked in a light batter and fried and came with several fries. Delicious. Their menu is farm to fork type and is seasonal, so changes throughout the year. Two desserts were available that were recited, as they were not on the menu. We decided on the Blueberry Beignets that were kinda more like fried donuts but who really cares. I love blueberries and these were pillowy, cinnamony, sugary blueberry balls of fried dough goodness. OMG ;) They have an extensive bar drink menu with beers on tap, bottled beer, wine, cocktails, and A LOT of whiskey. We were told that the beers and cocktails change frequently here. I enjoyed this place. My only complaints would be that parking is a pain here as it is in a very busy shopping center especially when the medical offices nearby are open. The other thing is the low ceiling in the bar that makes chatter and noise in the bar really, really loud at times, carrying over to the dining area. The manager was asking us about things and we couldn’t hear a lot of what he was saying to us, so we just kinda nodded our heads. LOL. Looking forward to visiting again to try the Brussels that Allie said we had to come back and try as it was her favorite menu item, and sample more of their seasonal menu items and bar drinks.

This should be deemed as a neighborhood favorite, although I think some would make a real trek to wine, dine and/or beer here. We were here yesterday for impromptu date night(because dating your spouse is cool). Our server was down to earth and great at her job. I want to say her name was Laurie, but my brain wasn’t in name catching mode. She was on top of several busy tables, with no lag time in between. You’d be hard pressed to convince me otherwise, that the best steak tacos are at Pub 32. Steak was prepped perfectly medium, with the right amount of guac and green salsa garnishes, and the tortillas were thick and flavorful. If you’re interested in a glass of great wine, and you like(or don’t like) red, probably have the Malbec because it’s amazing.

I wasn’t as big a fan a couple years ago when they allowed a troupe of irish dancers to come in and perform and then harrass for tips… but due to the scarcity of bars near my home I thought I’d try once more. I was very pleasantly surprised with my revisit last Friday night. Although there is a seriously foul smell coming from one of the sewer drains outside, inside was cool, contemporary and kind of woodsy feeling — as pubs should be! My friends and I sat at the bar and really liked the service and new foodie food menu — portobella fries? rad! On a previous visit, I remember ordering a nice dry cider I’d never heard of which was impressive to me because I’m a huge cider fan… however no such luck on this visit but they did have a 12oz bottled Magners for $ 5 which was nice because that’s my first cider love… on tap would have been preferable but this is south county… at least they had it! A couple hours later, maybe 8PM? A musician set up near the door… it was no stage really but he wasn’t there as the main attraction and at least they had him. He was awesome! He did several acoustic guitar covers of current Top 40 with his own twist and I really enjoyed it! I wish there was some signage or a way to know who he was but I suppose I could have asked a server. Anyway, if he’s the resident Friday night performer, I’ll DEFINITELY be back this week! He reminded me of Ed Sheeran and he was just raw and honest talent — Well done Pub Thirty Two for picking up local artists! With fun food, at least one good cider and live talent, I will make it back for sure! I just hope they do something a little more colorful with their patio((bistro lights? Fire pit? Cozier seating? I love sitting outdoors but that patio just looked sad)) OH and PLEASE sort out whatever that sewer smell is!

I came here with my family for a nice dinner. My Dad was going to leave for work for the next four days so we all wanted to have a nice dinner together. I checked out my bookmarks and saw this place was on there. I know my Dad loves pubs so I showed him this place and he decided we’d have here for dinner. We didn’t make any reservations since it was a weekday. We showed up around 5pm and the place wasn’t crowded, but there were a few people there in the dining room and the bar. It was decorated nicely for the holidays and had a very warm and comforting feel. We were seated immediately. First at a big table in the back, but then I requested a booth and they promptly moved us to one. The booth was very comfortable near the front of the restaurant and we had a nice view of the twinkling Christmas Tree that was set up by the window. We ordered drinks first. I just got a water and a coke. Our server was nice, but he seemed kinda new and out of sorts. It took some time for everyone to get their drinks and then order. It was weird that my soda came last, but all the alcoholic drinks at the table came first. I was a little impatient to be honest since I was pretty hungry. Finally we all got our drinks and browsed over the menu for a bit, we ordered everything at once. Our waiter told us about the specials and the crab cake special sounded really good. Our waiter said they were made with fresh crab. It came with two 3oz crab cakes and a green salad. Those are some big crab cakes. My Mom, Dad and Aunt all ordered the crab cake special. I was going to order it, but since everyone else got it I decided to try something else. I ordered their 24 hour short rib just to mix things up a bit. It came with onion strings and greens, yummy. My Dad also ordered a couple appetizers. There was a little confusion with what was an appetizer and what was an entrée. I guess the special crab cakes were appetizers so our server asked if they wanted the crab cakes to come out first with the appetizers. But everyone who ordered crab cakes told our waiter that they wanted them as their entrée so luckily that was all sorted out. A few minutes after ordering, our appetizers came out. We ordered the artisan cheese plate and the portobello fries. I tried the fries first. I’m not a big mushroom person, but portobello fries are a personal fav after I tried them in Las Vegas. They were good. The batter was a little heavier than expected, it was kinda like a tempura, but I still loved it. The cilantro sauce that came with it was delicious too and had a nice little bite. Our waiter said they’re trying to keep in touch with the restaurants original Mexican theme with the cilantro sauce. My parents said they remembered when this place used to be a Mexican restaurant. Very nice touch. The cheese plate was good too. I had some brie cheese, blue cheese, almonds and honey. The cheeses were creamy and not too strong. The almonds brought a crunchy texture to all those rich cheese and the honey wasn’t too sweet. I loved that they put a real honey comb on the platter. Shortly after we finished our appetizers our entrees came. First the crab cakes and then my short rib and my Brothers fish and chips came. I discovered that my short rib didn’t come with greens like I thought it did, but it was served on top of green beans. I was thinking more of a green salad. I don’t like green beans so I just ate around them. I wish the menu stated that they came with green beans instead of just saying greens, kinda misleading. The short rib was very tasty, a little dry on the outside, but it was tender and delicious on the inside. The onion strings were perfect, a great topping. Crispy, crunchy little pieces of fried onions that I ate like candy. Of course I got some crab cake, that actually came with greens, as in a salad. It was good, sweet meaty crab with some bell peppers in the mix, not too much breading just a thin coating. The greens that it came with were really good too, a fresh mix. I shared some of my short rib and everyone liked it. Near the bottom I got to the salty and flavorful au jus, there wasn’t that much, but it was delicious. Once I was finished with all my short rib my Brother gave me some of his fries and I dipped then in my remaining au jus and little shredded up pieces of short rib at the bottom. They soaked it all up. The entrée’s were great, the star of the show. Our waiter suggested dessert and I wasn’t really up for it, but then he said they had blueberry fritters and we just had to get those. They turned out all right, not as good as I thought. The blueberry flavor tasted kind of artificial. It had a real off taste to it. There weren’t any blueberries in the fritters, they were just topped with a blueberry sauce. The fritters themselves were dry. There was some melted cream at the bottom of the plate that helped with that a little. Not the best dessert, probably should of skipped it. Overall I liked this place, will probably come back.

I’ve been here twice and have enjoyed my experience both times. I’ve had the lamb burger both times and highly, HIGHLY recommend getting the burger. I guess it’s a former Mexican restaurant which held onto that heritage by the giant wooden doors. Inside, it’s a pub, with a dining area to the right when you walk in. We had no wait for a table for 5, so in we went. We started with waters and then noticed it was ½ off bottles of wine! So we chose the Seagrass Pinot Noir which was Fantastic, and a great price. We ended up with 2 of those. Our friends chose the Bogle Red Blend which was also a great choice. We had some time to kill so we started with siracha wings. These were spicy for sure, and we got the mild. Other options were the mussels, mac and cheese, among some others. The wings were good, but the veggies that came with it were wilted so that dampened the dish. However, I loved the fact that BLUECHEESE came as the dipping sauce, and not wimpy ranch. For the meal, I chose the Lamb Burger. Amazing. The fries were just so-so as I am not a big shoestring fries fan. The burger had the right amount of burnt crispiness and it was just, well, so perfect. I love putting the whole grain mustard with it, it just works. The bf had the short rib and he loved it too. I say definitely check it out. It’s great food and great atmosphere.

The appetizers we shared: Mac & Cheese and Meatballs were small portions. There was about two helpings of Mac & Cheese for each of us and 1.5 meatballs for each. But to make up for it, the food was absolutely delicious. We also split the 24 hour braised short rib, fantastic. Service was good overall, until the restaurant started getting busy. Then, the service was almost non-existent. We were at the restaurant for over an hour. We ordered the beignets for dessert but it took so long that we were running out of time(we had an event to go to by 7pm) and we couldn’t find our server. When we finally flagged him down, we had to get it to go. This was unfortunate because it would have been nice to share the beignets while they were fresh and warm, but due to time constraints, it wasn’t possible.

The clams were great! I will come back for that. They are a bit understaff. I think the owner is at the door to greet guest, but doesn’t really help with serving nor does he continue to entertain his guest. We sat at the bar. Our bartender was very nice. There was only one… Alot of girls here. If. ur a single guy, this is the place to be! ;) Happy Hour! Tongue Tacos for a buck, but it was good… small bite size. But good. Wings were standard. Clams were the highlight of our visit!

When you take a spontaneous trip to South OC late at night, and this place seems to shine like a beacon, you walk in. Calvin was a super attentive bartender/server, and really personable. I let him know I’m a n00b to beers, that I enjoy a Hefeweizen, and he brought me a few things to try out along the flavor profile. I ended up with a glass of Tank 7. The poutine sold me food wise(although the sriacha wings said a few words from the menu to me). The fried duck egg on top was wonderful. The fries were perfect. I kind of wish I had more gravy and curds, but everyone does their poutine differently, and this place still does theirs well. I must come back, and try everything on the menu.
