Went for the first time yesterday — very simply excellent food. I had a steak burrito and as others have said the steak had great flavor. Yes the format is like Chipotle but as a devoted fan of Chipotle(I actually had lunch there earlier in the day) this place has much better flavor profiles, options to put on your burrito/taco/bowl/etc. I hope these guys do really well and have the capital and desire to expand.

How could this restaurant even still be open? It’s the worst food place I’ve eaten besides Schwartz’s in Montréal. They are trying to be Chipotle and they just can’t. The meat was dry and gross, and yes, they have refried beans. They aren’t even hot, they’re just luke warm and just eww.

Two words: Fish Salad. Yum! I think these guys are trying to compete with Chipotle. They offer they same types of mexican dishes with the same simplified menu to order from — Pick your shell, pick your protein, pick your vegetables, etc. They are also trying to follow the same idea of locally sourced meats and vegetables. I wouldn’t say that they are better than Chipotle but I welcome the opportunity to have another vendor in this space. In keeping with my paleo diet as best as I can, I went with a salad with fish as my protein. I also had them put some grilled vegetables and some guacamole in there. I thought it tasted pretty good. The prices are pretty good too running under $ 10 for a meal. :-)

Got to know about Two Madres through Unilocal event and loved their chips instantly. It takes about half hour one way to get here from my place and I don’t think twice to drive up here just to get their crunchy-thick CHIPS! Love their chips and salsa combination. It is different from Chipotle in couple of ways but you get the hang of two madres if you have gone to Chipotle before. I go with their seasoned fiesta rice which is a great combination to rest of the items.

How can there be one star reviews? This is not a one star restaurant. I think they are a good alternative to Chipotle. Unlike Chipotle, they offer fish. More salsas are offered, and they have rotisserie chicken. They also have salads, tacos, bowls and burritos. I really like their pineapple salsa. The sweet salsa with chunks of pineapple is a good accompaniment to the chicken and pork. I like the way they cook the chicken, they make it soft and moist. The pork is a good choice, too. There seemed to be some inconsistency in cooking the fish. The second time I had it they put a lot more salt in it than the first time. Their spanish rice is good, and the black beans have a touch of garlic to them. I will be back here and enjoying a protein with pineapple salsa.

Best tortilla chips ever!!! Do yourself a favor and get some. They have so many different ingredients you can choose from to make awesome food. So much that you can get a great meatless meal. I like the two taco deal with rice and beans for $ 5.99. They try to get as much organic and local food as possible which is really awesome. Try their carnitas, the bf loves them in a burrito. Take that, Chipotle!!!

Good food… staff was super friendly… Free refills. Carne asada and chicken were a bit bland but can always improve. Went to Two Madres again and the experience wasn’t that great… no one was in the place yet my tray was noticeably unclean. I went to fill up with the Hibiscus tea and not noticing the machine was off or not flowing’ I took a swig and it was obviously rancid as if had been sitting there for a few days all warm. I then noticed the workers counting the register and all the change in the food prep area, which is pretty unsanitary to me. Had high hopes but may pass the next time.

Two Madres is like Chipotles kid. Or step-kid. Or niece. Or something. They are very similar in both set up and food. I love Chipotle, but Two Madres is even more flavorful, which makes me love them a little more. I came here last week for a Unilocal Elite Event and it was great. So great, I came back a couple days later with my mom so she could give them a try(she literally lives 5 minutes from them, where I’m about 15 – 20 minutes away these days). My mom loved Two Madres as well, which is great! Both times I came here, I ordered the Steak Bowl with brown rice, steak, fajitas, corn, cheese, medium sauce, and guacamole. What’s great is that the guac COMES with the bowl with no extra charge(other places charge like $ 1.50 more… I wonder who that is…). Both times my food was so flavorful and fresh that I couldn’t help but eat almost all of it. I could have finished off the bowl if I grew another stomach. I also ordered chips with guacamole too, and the chips were really good. They had a little bit of a different taste to them… and I found out that they are a mix of corn and flour. Interesting combo, but it really worked. When my mom came with me, she also ordered the bowl and loved hers as well. When I was here for the Unilocal Elite Event, the staff was really friendly and helpful — sometimes bordering on over friendliness. I thought it may have been just for the event since they were hosting it. But, when I came back a couple days later as a regular patron, the staff was just as friendly and helpful. I really loved it. Great service, even at a «fast food» place, is amazing. Always adds extra bonus points for me! Overall, I really like this place. I’ll be back when I’m at my parent’s place for sure! Cheers!

If Freebirds and Chipotle had a baby, Two Madres is it! Not so many choices that your head is going to explode, but more choices than Chipotle. They have 2 different types of rice to chose from, Fiesta, White and Brown. Choices of meat include, chicken, beef, pork, fish and veggies. All the meats looked really tasty and not soaked in grease like I sometimes see at Chipotle. They are similar in the fact that they use organic, grass fed, hormone free meats. So yay for that. Two Madres had a couple more salsa to chose from, including a pineapple salsa. Yum! In addition to salsas, theres more sauces, like garlic tamarind and cilantro aioli. Both delicious. Here, you also get a choice of shredded cheese or cojita cheese. I would also like to mention that their meats are alot less spicy than Chipotle. Overall, you have to give this place a try! And if you cant figure out what to make yourself, they have a couple menu items that they will make for you.

Two Madres Mexican Kitchen is a great place for healthy food options. Everything tastes fresh! They have many different sauces to choose from. There chicken is shredded. Their service is amazing, everyone was so nice when we visited. I’ve seen a lot of reviews comparing this restaurant to Chipotle and it definitely has it’s similiarties, but there is a different taste to the food and they have many items on the menu special to this restaurnt. I think it’s best to order their speciality items as oppse to the items that remind you of Chipolte to expeience their best options! Their ice tea is amazingggg!

This place has been in my bookmark list for a while, but finally made my way there yesterday(via bicycle, no less, so I figured this gave me the authority to eat more than usual.) And eat, I did! I was having a tough time deciding between the burrito or the tacos, but as I learned by watching people ahead of me in the short line, if you select the tacos, you can«mix and match» the type you’re getting. I opted for two steak, one chicken. What’s really neat as you can really«have it your way.»(This tagline should not belong to Burger King at all, it should belong to Two Madres, for sure.) With each of my tacos, I was able to «build» each one. E.g. I had the rice and beans on the side for all of them, on the chicken I opted for the salsa verde, one of my steaks, the pico de gallo with lettuce and cheese, etc. I really appreciated this variety!(And I didn’t even have to ask — the staff suggested this.) That’s another thing, as I said in my tip: You can tell the staff really care about customer satisfaction, and are passionate about their food. I had a question about the salsa verde, and he offered me a taste. It was my first time there, so they offered to let me try the chips(normally $ 1.95). The staff really wants to make sure you enjoy your dining experience, and I sure did! I am so happy I finally was able to dine at Two Madres, and will be back.(Note: they have a loyalty programme.)

I think I may have problem with my taste buds. Does eating too many spicy foods kill your taste buds? Cause this place was lacking taste. Maybe I’m used to those hole in the wall Mexican restaurants and my expectations are a bit higher. Don’t get me wrong, the food was decent and I can see where they are aiming for a healthier version of the burrito, but I could not taste the flavors they described in their menu. Let’s see, I got the steak burrito with the veggies and salsa. Maybe my burrito was lacking the guacamole, but I’ve eaten at other burrito places without guacamole and it still tasted fine. The flour was not as warm as I thought it could be and the meat was just ok. The veggies were good though. Maybe I should of stuck with a veggie burrito. I was a bit disappointed they did not have wheat tortilla, oh well. The staff is nice and friendly but I noticed that as the line got longer, production seemed a bit«chaotic». Oh well, it is new and I’ll have to come back and try something else… maybe tacos? We shall see.

We hit up this fine establishment again and once again sent my taste buds into pure bliss. The flavor the Carne Asada punches is off the hook. So good. I filled my burrito today with Carne Asada, Pinto Beans, Crème Fresca and Cheese. Simple but delicious. For me the key to good Mexican food whether authentic or progressive is having good tasting beans… which for me Two Madres hits that mark. I also love the Carne Asada(steak) because it’s flavor runs deep. A Two Madres trip would not be complete without an order of chips and Guoc. Seriously I can’t get enough of the chips… they are always fresh and crispy and soooo good. Not like the typical chip you always get. Gotta try them to see what I am saying. Plus the Guoc is so fresh and tasty! What blows my mind is how Rudy the manage remembered my name from my last visit a few weeks ago. Knowing your customers and connecting with them is so important and it is key to building a following. I am hooked! Rudy and his staff are personable and make the experience fun and you leave feeling taken care of. So I implore you to go try them out and taste the goodness. For me they blow The competition away. Priced great and top quality food delivered hot every time. Support the small restaurants and dining in your area. Two Madres is such a fantastic addition to our neighborhood. See you guys soon!

Some might say, how can you review, you didn’t eat there. Some might say, of course free food is going to bring out crowds. Some might say, some might say, some might say… I received in the mail at home a large color flyer with delicious looking chicken on one side and details of «grand opening» on the other side. 2 days, 2 chanches for a free entrée for the first 100 people. Free chips and salsa all day. I’d already heard not so good things from Unilocalers I trust, but figured, free right? We arrived at 11:30 am, they opened at 11:00 am. Line was out the door, down the strip-mall block, etc. Hubby got in line, and I proceeded to front of the line to a friendly staff worker to ask if the 100 was already gone. She indicated that it was. So apparently people were lining up early to get free grub. I took a quick look inside to get a feel of layout and décor and went back to hubby in line and we split, lickety-quick. Not free anymore, I’m not waiting in line for a chipotle-style fast food joint where I’m going to have to pay for food that I’ve heard is only ok and is comparable to Chipotle. I probably should have taken a pic of the long-ass line, but I was hungry and wanted to move on so I could eat within the next hour or so. Tidbits: small and clean(but they did just open, so I’d expect perfection on cleanliness), menu prices perhaps a bit higher than Chipotle, staff seemed friendly, small amount of outdoor seating and Two Madres Mexican Kitchen has a good website. Probably will go back to try it, as it’s fairly local and then I can update and see if that holds at 3 stars or hopefully a move up the star chart!

This place is pretty darn good! The quarter chicken with rice and beans is fantastic! The chips and salsa are very good and different than most other chips. I think they use flour tortillas or maybe a 50⁄50 mixture of corn and flour masa? Not sure but they are light and crisp. It is very similar setup to chipotle but in my opinion it’s away better. I will for sure be going back!

Came for grand opening where first 100 people received a free entrée and drink. Plus chips are free all day. Great deal. I decided to try the torta. I have never had one before but it looked interesting. I got it with chicken and the guacamole on the side. It was fantastic! The chips are good but some taste crunchy while others seem more flaky an dissolve in your mouth. I think some of their chips are flour tortilla as well as corn. That would explain the mix of textures. One more thing to note: they serve Pepsi products which I’m not wild about as I prefer Coke BUT if you are a diet drink person there are three options: Diet Pepsi, Sobe Lean Cranberry Grapefruit AND Diet Dr. Pepper. Lots of places only offer one option so this is a plus in my book. As others have said, it has a Chipotle feel to it. Very similar but pinto beans are mashed not whole and they seem to have other options with sauces and food items(I.e. the Torta that I had) Only one location now but the idea is to open more in the future. I definitely would recommend checking it out, especially if you live in the area

I have since eaten at Two Madres again and I really enjoyed it! I had the fish tacos, which I dont remember fish my first trip there. The fish had a lot of flavor, and I had it with a little bit of the flavored rice, slaw, cilantro aoili sauce, and salsa. YUM!!! Their service is incredibly friendly and quick. ~~~~~~~ I have a hard time not comparing this place to Chipotle… BUT I think I prefer it over Chipotle. Ive only eaten here once. I did place my order to go… and I would say it took me a good 10 minutes to get home, but my food was cold. Probably best to eat it there, but I just wanted to go home. I ordered the burrito… and I had chicken, seasoned rice, mashed pinto beans, corn, hot salsa, the garlic spread type salsa and lettuce. I think there were only about 5 small pieces of lettuce, so I asked for more. There was a problem with the tortilla, I believe it had a hole in it… so I think they originally tried to double wrap it, then possibly just changed the tortilla entirely. Thinking about it now, probably the main reason my food was so cold by the time I got to it. I also ordered chips and guacamole. The chips were fantastic… almost like the tostada salad shells at some other places. They were really good. I didnt care for the guacamole. It was brownish and didnt really have flavor to me. Overall, the entire meal didnt have a strong flavor, but I felt like I was eating somewhat healthy. I think I will give it another try, eat there, and see how it goes :)

I was actually heading somewhere else for lunch when I happened upon this spot. I will almost always try eating new places; I’m not beholden to a set list of eateries that I know provide good food. It’s my mild way of living dangerously. Plus, you always know what you’re getting with Mexican — it’s the same everywhere unless you’re going to a hole in the wall. It’s almost creepy how similar this place is to Chipotle. I’m talking menu layout, design, service… it was like walking onto a movie set where a place is supposed to look like a popular eatery. They have a lot more to offer here, though. Fish is a protein option, something you aren’t going to find at Chipotle. I went with the citrus-roasted chicken because that sounds really good. You get an option of lettuce or jicama slaw as a base, white or brown rice, grilled pineapple, a bunch of salsas, roasted corn, cheese, really just about anything that would work in a bowl or burrito. I probably should have gotten salsa on it because, while I will say it all tasted very fresh and delicious, it isn’t seasoned very much. This is a good thing since it means they’re probably using less salt/sugar/whatever to get flavors popping for American tastes, just know that you should go ahead and add some salsa or pineapple to your order. I’m sure most people do that anyway; I just happen to dislike an abundance of sauces on my food. They usually act like a flavor blanket, masking everything else in the dish. They seemed to give more chicken here than anywhere else, too. Chipotle usually gives me just a spoonful too little every time. This spot packed so much into my bowl that I almost had trouble finishing it. Almost. Service was great — everyone was super polite. Like, Chik-Fil-A polite. And the price was right for what’s included. They also have a frequent eater program that apparently provides some type of reward. I’m not sure, I just took the card I was handed.

We got lucky enough to attend their Friends & Family Private Tasting event. This was the day to have the staff«Pretend» to serve customers, a trial run. It’s chipotle style where you choose the style(burrito, salad, bowl or tacos) as well as all the ingredients. I chose steak, my friend chose pork. Both were wonderful. They also have many sauces and salsas to choose from. The one I tried was cilantro aioli. It was mild but flavorful, it went well with the steak. The guacamole was great, it was different than any I have had. Besides the nice flavor, there were also chunks of soft but not mushy avocado. I’m trying the chicken on my next visit. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable(they’ll let you know what sauce goes best with your filling choice). The menu also lets you know what’s gluten free and vegetarian.
