Caribou Coffee

Two words: Coffee Cake.
Otherwise, it’s a normal coffee shop with normal décor and normal coffee. I have a friend who bought a whole coffee cake and took it to her sister in Florida as a carry-​on item. It is actually that good.

The coffee is always delicious and hot and the staff is always so friendly. I love getting my coffee served with a genuine smile.

The coffee here is top notch, and the woman that’s seemingly always there is very nice and friendly.
This location also gives Hy-​Vee fuel rewards with coffee purchases.

I think Caribou Coffee is A-​OK. I’m more of a Starbucks girl myself, but the other day my husband and I were both really dragging in the late afternoon, and since we were at Hy-​Vee grocery shopping anyway, a quick stop at Caribou was definitely in order.
Our drinks (iced coffee for me, nonfat latte for my husband) were made quickly and correctly, the staff were friendly, and we were able to use our Hy-​Vee fuel saver card, so our drinks will also save us 3 or so cents off our next fill up. And the caffeine perked us right up, so all in all, it was a win-​win situation.
I won’t go out of my way to stop in here, but if I’m close by (or grocery shopping) and in need of a pick me up, I will certainly visit Caribou again.

You know, I don’t mind Caribou Coffee at all. In fact, if you are in the mood for a sweet treat in the form of a coffee drink, I would recommend it. Their campfire mochas are delicious, and made with your choice of dark, milk or white chocolate. Go for the milk chocolate, as they use real melted chocolate, not syrup. The spicy mocha is also a fun treat, especially in the winter months. I don’t frequent this particular location, but I was very much in need of a pick me up the other day, and I learned that since they are associated with Hyvee, you receive fuel points! That’s a bonus. They also participate in happy hour, I believe from 4 – 6 pm M-​F.
