River House Bar and Grill

Our family took a two hour drive to visit our Grandson (Dennis) who goes to Blackhawk College. We all ate at the River House Bar & Grill and couldn’t be more pleased. We’ve never been there before but will surely return again when in town. The food, staff, and waiter were great. Very pleasant atmosphere and reasonable prices. We would highly recommend the River House Bar & Grill as a great place for a family outing to enjoy a great meal together.

I’ve been here several times but this is my first review. My husband and I went to lunch there today and the service was great! And the food! Big portions and cooked perfectly. My hubby had a cheeseburger, the bun was fresh and the burger was cooked to perfection and was very flavorful. I had the turkey Reuben which was the size of my head– the bread is homemade and they gave me a very generous portion of fries! I will defiantly be back!

The reason I, and others, come here is solely because of the fried pickles to be honest. Those alone deserve the 4 stars.
The staff are very nice and he atmosphere is cozy. My boyfriend ordered the adult mac and cheese and it was very very yummy. I ordered the fish tacos which come with black beans and rice pilaf. The tacos were wonderful, breaded fish, coleslaw, and remoulade. The beans were served in a cup with a spoon. They were more like a black bean soup, very good. I will say the rice pilaf was a disappointment, but it still tasted good. Right when the plate was put in front of me I the rice looked like the frozen variety. It also tasted like it as well, but it was still really yummy.
The prices are also very good for the amount of food you get.
I do plan on coming back again for more of those amazing pickles. I also want to try more of their food options and potentially try some of their mixed drinks.

Susie was the bartender who did a great job. She recommended the fried pickles. AWESOME!

Told the staff the my group and I were on our lunch break and needed to get in and out in a half hour. Our food came in about 5 min. It was great food as well. The waiter was also very fast and kept up with our orders and our drinks. We were in and out in 20 min!

We grabbed a quick lunch here before going to the John Deere Pavilion — service was nice and quick and accommodating to our part of 2 adults and 2 kids. Menu was pretty good — lots to choose from. Food and drinks came out fast which for anyone with kids is a huge plus.

Love the adult Mac and Cheese… and the Italian margaritas. Wonderful! And service has always been great. Highly recommend – everyone we have taken here loves this place! And weekend music is great.

We go here quite a bit — great food, great music outside in the summer, and great service. We really like to patronize downtown Moline businesses and River House is well worth the trip. The ultimate grilled cheese is mouthwatering! Love the homemade chips and sauce. The pretzel baked with crab, cheese and Alfredo sauce is creative and yummy. The salads are huge, too!

Today was my first time in this restaurant, but it won’t be my last. My flight came in late, and someone from the front desk at the Stoney Creek Inn recommend the place. Excellent service and excellent food.

Would be a 5, but service can be slow at times. But that is almost always because they are super busy. So. And it is bar food. The menu is expansive but it isn’t «fancy» by any means.
For starters, don’t know for sure, but I think they keep their keg room a few degrees colder than most places. I don’t know why, but the beer is always crisper, colder and more refreshing here.
I’ve ordered many-​an-​item from this place. Always great. They have a burger with egg and chorizo– great. A burger with onion rings and bbq sauce– great. Their Italian nachos-​great. Their grown up grilled cheese– fantastic.
They have in house potato chips people seem to love. But I prefer their crinkle cuts and their sweet potato fries.

Love it! Food is great, been here multiple times and never had a complaint. Even on their busiest nights the food came quickly and the staff was friendly and attentive. I am in love with their crab cakes! Their burgers are delicious, too. Would definitely recommend for a nice casual dinner date. ;)
Only reason I bumped it down a star was that their Bloody Mary was disappointing. They use this *fantastic* smoked salt but the flavor of the actual drink was very bland and seemed almost non-​alcoholic. It also only came with one olive and while that technically lands as a garnish, most Bloody Mary drinks I have had (and they’re my favorite so I might be a little picky) come with a plethora of garnish treats like celery and pickles, garlic, etc.
But the Sangria was yummy and the beer is always bubbly!

We went to Moline to see a concert, and stopped in here after the show. I really don’t have much to say about it, it really speaks for itself.
It’s a bar that serves food. The service was good, the food was good, nothing out of the ordinary. Just a neighborhood bar with lots of people, especially after a concert.
I’d definitely go back if I was ever in town, but i wouldn’t go out of my way to find it either.
Keep in mind, I’m from out of town and only stopped in for 1 beer and some food on the fly.

Decided to take in some local music and my family recommended this joint as it has an outdoor patio.
My wife and I started out splitting the Cobb salad, and it was a monster! We asked for all romaine in place of the standard iceberg, and they obliged. Everything in the salad was very good. We also split the nachos and were less impressed. Chips with seasoned ground beef and plenty of melted cheese which was good. Unfortunately the plate was mounded with shredded lettuce which made for difficult eating. We rounded out the meal with the brownie delight, which was also a very large portion. Ice cream was very good, but the brownie was more cake-​like than brownie.
Prices are in line with expectations and overall a good place. I would consider returning for other bands and to further explore the menu.

I’ve only been here once, but hubby goes here all the time due its proximity to Rock Island Arsenal. He reports that it is sometimes slow… But we were here at around 2 p.m. and we were some of the only people in the place. Our burgers came really quickly, and the service was very good.
We both had the Kaden burger, which hubby has proclaimed to be something I «had better rave about on Unilocal». It was covered in chorizo, fried egg, cheese, and buffalo chips. I didn’t notice the buffalo chips, but the chorizo was awesome, and the burger was really good! It was also ginormous, and I felt kind of guilty for eating such a big burger. It comes with a knife, and it’s one of those burgers you really can’t handle without cutting it in half (not that hubby cared, as he dug right into that monstrosity without even cutting it…) I’m pretty sure I probably maxed out all the calories and fat I should’ve allotted for one week’s (moderately) healthy eating…
We chose fries with our burgers, and I was somewhat disappointed when I saw crinkle fries… I really don’t usually like crinkle fries, as they always seem to come kind of soggy. In this case however, I don’t know if I was lucky or it was the norm, these may have been the best crinkle fries I’ve ever had. Lightly crispy without being overcooked, and seasoned nicely.
There’s a lot of other burger choices, sandwich choices, and more, but I can only attest to the one burger I had. Next time I want to eat a week’s worth of food in one sitting, I am definitely coming back for another burger. ;)
There’s an entire second floor I didn’t see, and I hear it’s a good place for a large gathering. We went in through the «dining room» doors, and I’m pretty sure it was no different than going through the «bar» doors, other than that we didn’t have to walk past the bar…
I think this could be a great place for a big burger, fries, and a beer and just hanging out in the evening before a concert across the street at the iWireless!

I can’t even begin to explain how wonderful and amazing our server Eric was. We came in today with a reservation for 15 people after my grandma’s funeral. We ended up having about 37 people show up. He was so wonderful, so polite, and very attentive. It really surprised me that this restaurant does not offer automatic gratuity for large parties. I would hate to see a wonderful server like Eric gets stiffed by people who don’t know how to tip or don’t know if they do not include gratuity. My mom left him $ 200 on a $ 600 check and he was worth every time. Definitely recommend.
