Came in at 7:59 exactly– on March 14th, 2016 they close at 8:30. Party of 3. Was told by manager I couldn’t eat in dining room. Hourly worker said it was because it was a «pain in their ass». Lady with dark rimmed classes(manager) was rude and inconsiderate like always. I’ve been coming to all grinders locations since I was a kid and have never been treated so rudely so consistently. Subs don’t even taste like the Davenport original. Would not recommend to anyone. I will not be going here ever again. F service.

In what looks like an old fast food place, their food has never disappointed me over the years. Gondolas are good, ravioli, spaghetti, mostaccioli, garlic bread, and even the reuben taste great. Their sauce has a little sweetness to it, which is sweeter than the Davenport location in my experience. Would be 5 stars if it didn’t close so early in the night.

Moline staple. More or less lived off of this stuff in high school. That being said, quality has gone downhill big time in the last few years since the old owners left. Don’t get me wrong. I can still down about 700 pieces of the garlic bread.(350 if it’s cinnamon bread) I usually get the tortellini and an order of Pizza Bread. Okay. I’m REALLY hungry right now. Maybe it should be a 4 star review? It would be. but the new gal that runs it is no bueno. She seems like she isn’t intentionally rude but she is short and brash and loud. I always feel like I am intruding on a family argument when she is talking to her employees. It’s awkard

Good food but rude staff. Don’t get in line without knowing what you want they will get an attitude with you.

The spaghetti was decent but hardly great. The subs are very basic with no flair, think American cheese straight out of the Kraft single slice package. I could have gotten better food at a fast food chain for less money.

Great inexpensive Italian. We normally do takeout, fast even when you go there and order vs. call ahead. The bread and marinara sauce is a bit on the sweet side but I like it. Love the gondola and dessert bread!

Read the rave reviews and decided to try Grinders. WOW! The manicotti was delicious! Worthy of candles and white tablecloths but on throw away plates my whole dinner was well under $ 15. I hope I pass through here again and remember this place!

Great food, good prices and always a friendly staff. Love to come here for lunch and they are always giving a friendly smile. I love the lasagna with garlic bread. For an added treat get melted cheese on your garlic bread for pure deliciousness.

Visited from Orlando and suggest others to make the stop in. Spaghetti was good, salad was heavy on the Italian dressing but who cares… the garlic bread, was aMAZING! If that’s all you go for, it’s worth it.

When I think about garlic bread or cinnamon bread, I think about Grinders. This place gets food right. The restaurant itself is outdated and cheap, but the reason people come back to this place is because of the fantastic Italian food. I’m a fan of the lasagna myself.

Grinders is one of the major reasons I visit home at all! First of all, the food is AMAZING. I stick with the spaghetti and garlic bread lunch special, and it goes down like ambrosia every time. Second, the motherly woman at the register is incredibly endearing. The various people they have running your food out to you are always very friendly as well. As for the building itself, ambiance is overrated. I’m crying over the miles that separate me from this haven of deliciousness.

Try the beef ravioli, can’t go wrong. Family feast is a good value and feeds 4 – 6, but only available for take-out. If your heading there to dine-in don’t expect much for atmosphere.

The place is not fancy. But, neither are their prices. Their bread is amazing. Gotta try the cinnamon bread. Their sauce is great. Do yourself a favor and go for taste and skip The Olive Garden.

I was mentioning to a co-worker that I would be in Moline and his first response was, «Are you going to get some Grinders?» I had no clue what he was talking about so he went on to explain their melt-in-your-mouth garlic bread and great food overall. I figured I would try it out. The place used to be some fast food place and it still has outdated chairs and booths but I didn’t mind. They have a small ordering counter and the guy behind the counter was so nice and helpful! Their processes reminded me a lot of Fazoli’s but the food is way better! I ordered the Manicotti dinner based on other reviews and got the garlic bread. I opted for their house Italian salad dressing and it was good. The manicotti was terrific! The meat sauce had great flavoring and was not clumpy(which I liked). The garlic bread truly was melt-in-your-mouth! Awesome food overall! The place had a steady coming and going of customers and I can see why. I will never again have to ask what Grinders is and will very willingly come back again!

Pizza bread, manicotti, cinnamon bread are my three favorites. The meat sauce doesn’t have chunks of tomatoes(good thing) and it is prepared quickly. Call ahead if you know what you want, it will be ready when you arrive. I wish they had delivery or drive through for call ahead orders.

Grinders = comfort food. Stick to the pasta and bread — you can’t go wrong. I have purchased a chicken chef salad and it was mediocre at best. A tub of pasta and gondola will serve your family of four aplenty.

Grinders. Glorious. The bottom line is that this is good cheap food. Each lunch special comes with your choice of a pasta dish and cinnamon bread or garlic bread. I highly suggest going with a friend, each getting the lunch special, and splitting the bread(each get one type). Everybody wins. As far as décor, I am fairly certain that back in the day this was a Hardee’s, and you might never know if it weren’t for the throw back seating that still has the Hardee’s «H» back. They have also put up some divider stuff to mask it’s Hardee’s past, but I think the draw here is the quality of the food for the price.
