I was very tempted to give this place 5 stars because the level of quality and service was so surprising in a gas station coffee shop, but I had to be honest. It’s a coffee shop in a gas station. Snobbery aside, the coffee was excellent, the pressed poboy and soup I got was hot and delicious.(And very reasonably priced). And the staff was WELL above the level of courtesy and knowledge I have sadly grown accustomed to. The baked good are fairly standard fare. Not Panera or Corner Bakery quality. But if you want a bit of paradise, try there fresh squeezed lemonade fountain with 7 natural flavors you can add. I love my coffee, but I’m a sucker for good lemonade. And this was as good as I have ever tried. If you are at the Mall in Monroe or driving by on I-20 as I was, this is your pit stop. And they offer a generous senior discount to 50 and older for my fellow AARP’ers!

Decent coffee out of a painted gas station. I was hoping for somewhere to get espresso but no luck here. The funniest thing was when I went to pay for my coffee, the girl behind the register stopped mid-transaction to use her phone. So, not only subpar coffee, but also subpar customer service. I’ll keep searching for good coffee in Monroe.

For great sandwiches and good coffee, Daily Press is a blessing. Seating and space are ample, so I never feel squeezed by every other customer.

Conveniently located near Pecanland Mall on Garrett Road, this is the newest location for Daily Press, which is inside the newly renovated Chevron gas station. I like this location since it’s on the way to I-10 and it’s easy to grab a quick breakfast/lunch/snack to go. Their selection of baked goods is not as plentiful as the Forsythe location, and there is spacious dining area. I have always been a fan of Daily Press because of the ease of the self-service for pressed sandwiches, breakfast sandwiches, build your own salads/spuds/burrito/bowl, and customized hot/iced coffees with a variety of flavors. Regular sandwiches have the option of various breads: ciabatta, wheat ciabatta, jalapeño sourdough, croissant, or Gambino’s. After putting my order for a hamburger on jalapeño sourdough bread in the self-service kiosk, my order was ready in about 5 mins. Their sandwiches are fresh, made to order, and I like having healthy options. There’s a self-serve station for frozen yogurt too! They have plenty of baked goodies like cookies, brownies, lemon bars, rice krispy treats, scones, cupcakes, kolaches, and delish muffin tops(my fave breakfast treat that comes available in banana nut, lemon poppy, apple cinnamon, blueberry, cranberry, peaches-n-cream). You need to seriously try the muffin tops– they will start your day off right(along with your caffeine fix)! There is parking available on the side and behind the building. However, getting in/out from Garrett Road can get tricky during peak traffic time.(The stop sign at Garrett & Milhaven gets backed up all the time from people trying to turn left onto Milhaven.) ***EDIT: The city finally put in a traffic light for the intersection of Garrett & Milhaven!***
