Second time here, food delicious both times and great selection. Sushi is very authentic. Food comes out as its ready so if you don’t mind having your appetizer after your entrée, then you’ll still love the place!

I was in Monroe on business last month and my colleagues took my to this restaurant. Even thought it was just after the lunch hour, the restaurant was still quite busy. After waiting for a short period of time, our party of eight was seated. The service was friendly, pleasant, and attentive. I ordered the sushi. I have to be honest and say that it was the best sushi that I have ever had!!! By far!!!

Consistently good! Came at 7pm and was immediately seated which is somewhat unusual for a Saturday night.

I have had bad service before, but Rawz is a special kind of bad. Rawz is a popular restaurant with a small capacity therefore the staff(which is family managed) rushes everything. I was rushed to place my order, my food looked like it was put together by nascar pit crew, food arrived all at once, and staff kept asking to remove my plates even though I am still working on it. Rawz operates fast and recklessly and their food and service reflected. This was not my first visit but it was my last.

Amazing Asian food I had the Rawz sushi roll and a bowl of fried rice. This food is fresh and the staff is very attentive. We will be back. B

Went here to try out the Phở since it was the only place in town that had it. Doesn’t compare to real phở. Tastes like it was made from instant noodle packaging. The meatballs taste like hot dog wieners. Wouldn’t recommend this. Sushi was kind of expensive too compared to other places. The service was great, but did take about 20 minutes for seating. Props to the big guy who catered to our needs.

Great food, great staff, I’ve eaten here dozens of times and I always leave happy. I eat all their sushi and their phở soup is incredible.

Best sushi in Monroe, hands down. With over 100 sushi rolls to choose from, there is something here for every sushi lover. The service is good, though the atmosphere is a bit bland, but I come for the Alaskan roll, which is unlike any other Alaskan roll I’ve ever had in my life, amazing quality and presentation!

Absolutely awful and rude staff I ordered one thing and they brought me something else and then argued with me about what I ordered and then brought me what I ordered but charged me twice!!! Food is AMAZING but staff is awful.

Decent Asian food. Not nearly as good as it once was. This place is NOTTOLERANT of the disabled. Those with disabled family members should avoid.

I love this place! Great food! I make a point to go every time I’m in the area. They are very fast so there isn’t much waiting around. My only complaint is that the wait staff seems to rush you out there. I hate being given the bill in the middle of my dinner!(Look lady I just got my meal, calm down.) This tiny place is usually packed any day of the week and is not my ideal atmosphere for Asian cuisine but I just can’t pass up the food.

The place is ok for an Asian restaurant in a southern town, but since I’ve live in Hawaii and had real Asian food it wasn’t that great in my opinion. The flavor if their food is also not consistent. I went their once and had some great fried rice but the next time and then on it was never the same. So I gave the place one last try and order like shrimp spring rolls and it was ok but I tasted something weird and ends up they had imitation crab along with shrimp in the spring roll, undisclosed on the menu, I absolutely despise imitation crab. I haven’t been back since then.

This place is always crowded for a reason! This is my go-to place for sushi. If you have a craving you will be more than satisfied here. Awesome selection of sushi, Asian dishes and sides. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Get your fix here!

I used to think at one point in my past life that I really knew what good sushi was, back when I lived in South Florida. Living in North Louisiana, my options have gotten bleak and I actually started liking cafeteria style sushi from food courts. I swear there was nothing else — either crappy cheap options or high-end super expensive places. Not any more, now that I discovered Rawz café! I had been very afraid to try this place and not sure what to expect, but I am SO thankful I did. It looks unappealing from the outside, but inside there is so much more. The staff are super nice, the food and menu is plentiful.(Bathrooms could use an upgrade though). Nothing, I mean nothing, has disappointed on this menu. We even brought my picky mother-in-law who doesn’t like sushi, and she loved this place. This place has options for everyone! They have thai dishes and curry if you don’t want sushi. They have cooked teriyaki dinners and other Japanese meals too if you don’t like sushi. And they have raw sushi and cooked sushi. I have tried both but my husband prefers the cooked rolls, so that is what we go for. The pad thai has to be one of the best I’ve ever had and we share a plate everytime. The lobster fried rice is tasty and affordable! Our favorite roll we get everytime is the sushi pizza, three non-conventional seafood and rice topped on crispy wontons. It is sooo good, you’ll thank me. I really am appalled that some people don’t like it here based on the reviews. But whenever I’ve been, there is always a crowd and a wait. This place is always packed and popular to the locals and everyone seems to be enjoying themselves. It’s very casual, with kids and jeans allowed, and the prices are definitely not steep like another similarly named sushi place 30 minutes away. I think I’ve been 4 times in 3 months, which says something.

Calling RawZ a sushi place is like calling the East River a nice place to go swimming. Out of a menu that is way too long to even pretend like anything here is made fresh, perhaps 10 – 12 of the rolls are actually raw. Everything is slathered in sauces so thick, greasy, and over the top that it makes tasting the food all but impossible. Everything is deep fried. The clean, simple flavors that are the foundation of sushi are nowhere to be found. But of course, this isn’t just a sushi place. They are just as happy to butcher Vietnamese, Thai, and Chinese food. There is equal opportunity for terrible food at RawZ. To cut this short, I feel terrible for people whose first experience with sushi happens here.

Treated like royalty. This is my go to. I’m a chef and I’ve never had a bad meal here. Staff. Flavor. Speed. Value. Trust me on this. Jalapeño hamachi. Thom Kai. Phở. Sake. I love this place!

I’m Asian and from New Orleans. I know good food. This place always fails in service but wins impeccably every time on food and flavor. Everyone who moves away after college hardly misses Monroe but almost every I know says they miss rawZ. The food dishes here are always very flavored! I’m a huge fan of almost every dish I’ve tried. What makes it great is that they’re very reasonably priced. What I like: 1. I love their curry here. I’ve always gotten the green curry bc I don’t eat spicy food(I don’t substitute spice for flavor). However, I’ve recently tried their red curry and I think it’s my new favorite. You choose your choice of meat 2. The thai basil chicken is delicious. Very flavored lean meat chicken with a bowl of rice. 3. Herbal chicken. The sauce you dip it with is delish! 4. Pad thai***** My boyfriend loves their pad Thai! We travel a lot and eat out a lot… been to many Thai places… had a lot of pad thai… and he always craves rawz’s pad Thai. Always! It’s just… so good. You choose your choice of meat. he always gets beef! Any dish you try I think would be very satisfying. My friends get the sushi all the time. It’s quite fresh but I don’t really eat it here bc the entrees are just that good. There’s a lot to choose from though. My friends are fiends for the tuna tower though and the Rawz roll. Now on to the bad part… The service here is bad. It’s not horrible, but it’s never been good. They rush you, I guess which is understandable since the area is so small and limited. BUT, they don’t need to ask every 2 minutes if I’m ready to order. The staff can’t really speak English well but they try with that, it’s uncomfortable bc they seem either too friendly in a pushy way or too rude in the same pushy way. Other than that, who cares about service when the food is just that good. Rawz is like, the Asian comfort food. Get some!

This is more of a pan-Asian place than any particular sub-category. Dishes include phở noodles, stir-fry chicken/beef dishes v/veggies, etc., and a great place for sushi. This is the best place for sushi in town. They have a wide selection! Also, there is something for everyone here. My father usually hates Asian food, but he really likes one of their beef with vegetables dishes.

Rawz Café is the fave of my relatives. Every time I visit, this is where they always take me. It’s a small hole-in-the wall that serves Thai, Vietnamese, Chinese, and Japanese. I was impressed that Monroe got a place like this. And it seems to be very popular, because it’s always crowded every time I visit. Most dishes seemed to be in the $ 6 – 10 range. Banh mi are about $ 3.50. Various appetizers were around $ 3. I loved their Thai tea(which is my fave drink)! I’ve never met a Thai tea that I didn’t like… oh wait, scratch that. In Houston there is one place that ruined it. Did this restaurant use to be a dine-in Pizza Hut? ‘Cuz that’s how it feels/looks to me, except with a little renovation here and there. Maybe it’s just me. My only negative was the restroom. I sure hope the lock works now. It’s just a single room(well, one for women and one for men). I was in there and someone came walking in on me! Thankfully it was just my auntie, but still… it would’ve been very embarrassing! Decent service, decent food, great location… I know I’ll be back the next time I’m in the area.

I believe this is the only Thai place in Monroe, but don’t hold me accountable for that. That being said, this is a very decent and affordable place for your Thai cravings fix all in a small little building with friendly people. We had ordered the following items: –Pad Thai: chicken and noodles pad thai is pretty good here –Panang Curry: the chicken panang curry has very nice flavors and is delicious overall –Pepper Steak: I feel that there pepper steak is too chewy, and not seasoned enough, however, still edible –Yum Neau: an alternative to larb, with having bigger slices of meat, rather than ground meat, but same concept. Drenched in a spicy(depending on how spicy you want it), and lime, if you want more flavors, take it home to eat the next day. The flavor intensifies two times the day after! –Spicy Snowball Roll: being a Thai restaurant, they also offer sushi, which overall is very decent and not as expensive as your neighbor sushi restaurant. This roll is nice and creamy, with a delicious bite –Diablo Roll: although very messy, it has decent flavors, with some crunch(from all the fried toppings) Overall, I would eat this at this establishment again, being affordable and delicious doesn’t always happen in the same place often these days, but you can count Rawz in.
