Got squeezed in as a last minute appointment. I’m new to the area and was in desperate need of hair maintenance. I had engagement photos the next day and was concerned about trying someone new for such an important event. Carine was very sweet and gave me directions and told me to have a seat as soon as I got in. My hair wash was fantastic and left my scalp feeling fresh and tingly.
My hair is very long and every so often I get a touch up for my roots, I’m also used to having rollers and sitting under the dryer for quite some time before getting a blow out. Carrine suggested going straight from wash to blow out for the sake of time (as it was later in the evening) but in no way pressured me and would still do the rollers if that’s what I wanted. I opted for her plan and must say I was pleasantly surprised. My hair looked and felt smooth and soft and she was able to finish it off with big wavy curls at the ends for a classic look.
I do plan on returning here again.

Carine is Amazing… She rocks the Montclair area on short hair cuts and color. She’s friendly and gives the best Haircuts /​Highlights around. She has been my stylist since 2006 and couldn’t say enough great things about her! She does an amazing job on my lovely hair cut and color at all times. I received so many compliments on my hair every times I get it done. She used top of the line products and Paul Mitchell color. My hair is treated every two weeks. Great HAIRCARE Specialist! She is so great at what she does and I feel so lucky to have been referred to her. The rest of the crew there is Awesome, too. I always feel Welcome and Relaxed. I love my short hair cut and color.
I had a very relax hair wash and a good scalp massage today! Made me feel so Relax!

I’ve been going to this salon since the beginning of the year and i LOVE it! My hair is done by the owner Carine, and she has my hair looking fab! She truly listens to all my hair concerns and gives great advice on how I can reach my hair goals. They use great products at this salon and everyone is super friendly. I have never recieved as many compliments on my hair as I do now. I’ve noticed the health of my hair has improved and the length is now longer. It’s a little pricey however they use great products. No good thing is cheap! I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking to have beautiful and more importantly HEALTHY hair.

Dujour is now at Carine’s Ambience, which is several blocks from Salon Femi (where she worked previously). Space is smaller and more intimate, but the owner is constantly updating her salon. Dujour is still awesome with the blow-​dryer, I was wearing my hair curly this summer and didn’t take care of it and Dujour was so patient with my tangles… I think Dujour is $ 10 higher at this salon, but she is so worth it, I’m making reference to the cost because I am still in grad-​school. The vibe in the Salon is relaxed-​I was even invited to their holiday party!

After months of looking for a place I could trust for my haircare, I found Carine. She really and truly cares about the condition of your hair and is not just in it for the money. She uses quality products and I was happy that she used my relaxer Affirm. All in all, I have not found a salon like Carine’s since I moved up north from Atlanta and happy that she has become my personal stylist!
