I was looking for a new drycleaning establishment in the area when my Unilocal search led me to Joy Cleaners. I came to Joy Cleaners on Saturday morning with more than a handful of merino sweaters, a winter coat, wool scarves, and three items for alternations. The overall price was your average. $ 19.95 for winter coats, $ 7.95 for sweaters. For 13 items, drycleaning and alternations, Eunice mentioned a week which was more than a reasonable time for me to pick up all my items. My bill came to about $ 154.00, but for how much I had brought in, it is what it is. Verdict? –The blind stitching on my work slacks were perfect. The sleeve alternations on my winter coat were a perfect match. It’s like I never had them altered. They were also able to remove a stain off my other wool coat. What sets Joy Cleaners apart is the little stuff. They stuff tissue paper in your jacket sleeves and shoulders for winter coats to keep the structure. Sweaters were folded with tissue paper in between the fold and not hung traditionally on then wire hanger by the shoulders.(Nobody like a hanger shoulder bump!) And lastly, my merino wool sweaters didnt have that«rubbed against its own material» or fuzzy look. They really took care of my items and offer great consultation on the things I had brought in. Most doubt I will definitely go back!

Joy Cleaners is the best dry cleaner in Montclair. It’s very clear that they take tremendous pride in their work and are very passionate about doing a great job. They are also really nice. During the holidays, they were even giving out lint rollers to all of their customers as gifts. As the reviewer above me pointed out, they actually go the extra mile of using cardboard inserts or plastic to preserve the shape of the shirt. This isn’t something I usually see done by most of other dry cleaners… usually it’s just pressed and placed on the shirt. When I brought them a bunch of sweaters for dry cleaning before putting them away for the summer, they did give me a volume discount. They also do a decent job with tailoring. I had a regular fit shirt made into a slim fit. I got the shirt at a deep discount, so I wasnt too concerned about the outcome of the tailoring — however, they did an excellent job tightening up the shirt. I would still continue to use a real tailor for more complex things like suits and blazers, but for hemming and tightening up shirts, I will bring them here.
