Just walked out of this empty warehouse of tools. I came to buy a tracksaw and walked out with nothing. Spent a half hour and had no assistance with looking for what I came for. Hope they close down to online businesses. Sad to think tri community wood shop sends students here. Don’t give them your business. Do they waste your time

Terrible terrible terrible! I brought my tools to get repaired here. They repaired my mill walkie right angle drill and they charge me $ 350 to repair my Makita Jackhammer. I got the jackhammer back and the first time I go to use it, it doesn’t work. So I take it back. They tell me I have to pay another $ 360 for a motor. Even though I just paid them $ 350 for to repair it. The last repair was the motor and chord. I tried explaining to them that they repaired it and it didn’t work. So guess what? Now they have no record at all of them even repairing my jackhammer. How convenient! So now what they’re telling me is I need to go ahead and fork out a total of $ 710 to repair my jackhammer and I can buy a brand-new one for $ 1000. Do not take your tools here, they lose your info and they don’t repair your tools. Maybe they are good at doing some small tools but I will never be coming back here again

Had a problem with a new Hitachi drill I bought at Home Depot. Keyless chuck could not be opened. Service guy took it to the back and fixed it quickly — no charge. Didn’t know this place was here until I searched for Hitachi service centers.

I called and asked what time the service counter closed i was told 5, i arrived at 4:15 and found a sign saying closed! After researching warranty return centers on the internet for my tool. This place was listed as one, i returned my tool here only to be refused servicing because i did not have the reciept. my tool came with a 3 year warranty, i contacted the manufaturer who directed me to another service center that gladly took my tool and repaired it without the reciept. terrible customer service will not return here.

Unfortunately, would not recommend these guys. I had continued to do business with Tools-R-US because of the service dept. Left a tool there and a deposit without hearing back. Called in and the guy that took the tool at the counter was on vacation. 2wks, waited for a call… Called them he hadn’t got to the tool.(as though he was the only tech there). Two weeks later got a call the tool was fixed, picked it up and had it for few days. Went to use it on a job and it ran but stopped under load. Took it back and it had been misdiagnosed. Now the bill was up to two hundred plus. Got it back and still didn’t work. Done… Along with someone else’s post, the employees are not very friendly. Lots of other places to shop that want to help me, Caviat emptor

First and last time here! Called on a Sunday and spoke with a guy about laser levels. He was very helpful but told me to come in on Monday and talk with another guy that is more familiar with them. On Monday I show up. I ask an employee if I can speak with someone that is knowledgeable about laser levels. Instantly I get attitude. He asks me what I need. I told him I need to talk to someone about laser levels because I need to purchase one. He asks me what do I need to know about them with a major attitude. Obviously I am bothering this guy. I tell him that I need some info on them. Again he gives me a 5 second pause and with disgust on his face, he asks ts me what kind I need. I finally say to him I will go somewhere else. As I leave, he looks over and rolls his eyes to another employee. The problem is that there are a lot of different laser levels put there at really high prices. I needed some product knowledge, not some A-hole treating me like I am wasting his time. All I needed was someone to guide me through the stages of different lasers. The attitude I got was like a fast food employee mad because they got your order wrong. The right way to handle it would have been to walk with me over to the lasers and ask if there is something in particular that I need it for and explain the differences between the dozens of lasers. I guess there are no salesmen left in the world.

Tools-R-Us was the only local place that had the tool I needed. It was actually a tool for a tool(a Makita grinder lock-nut tool). The cost was $ 29. They have an array of tools, including: Makita, DeWalt, and Milwakee. If you are in need of a special tool for a special job, this is probably the best place to find it. The service was excellent. An employee saw me browsing around, asked me if I needed help, then found exactly what I needed for me within about 10 minutes after entering the store. The cashier and customer service were all smiles, friendly, and willing to help.

Mixed feelings about Tools-R-Us: They have a large sales floor but over the years moved to a mix that includes more imports than solely domestic or professional tools. They sell high-end brands but seem to stock some of the expensive foreign-made Powermatic drill presses that sell for $ 1k plus.(Powermatic is a major industrial tool manufacturer with domestic and offshore production — two classes of equipment.) I’m frustrated about their hand-tool selection because it keeps changing every few years: Allen to SK to Wright, probably a couple others in the mix, which makes it hard to rely on warranty replacement, that’s for sure. NOTETOINSPECT: If you’re buying hand tools, do a once-over on them. One socket I recently bought had such serious corrosion inside that I had to return and exchange it. Yesterday, also, I had to think real carefully about buying a $ 17 U.S.-made deep socket that was the only one available anywhere within scores of miles, but looked like it was used previously to pound out a shaft seal. I said no to the guy when he refused even a modest discount but luckily bought a regular, unused impact socket that managed the job. This store has plusses and minuses, that’s for sure. On the plusses they have a big selection, probably the best for unusual items within miles, and stock many high-end power tool brands under one roof: Bosch, Makita, Milwaukee, etc. They are the place to check if no one else has the tool. Due to the close proximity of cheapo Harbor Freight and Sears they are probably trying to compete on price, but they’ll never be successful that way. I think sometimes they compromise a bit between higher-profit retail versus the absolute best but live in the retail space of high quality buyers. Despite these observations, this store probably has the best overall selection of high-quality items than any of its local competitors. ALSO, every six months they have a big sale called«Moonlight Madness,» which is really a pretty good sale with 20 percent off everything in the store. UNFORTUNATELY, when I went on Friday night in April 2012 every one of the three items I wanted was out of stock, and could not be ordered. This was the exact opposite of what I was told over the phone, so watch out for their customer service. This caused me to blow a night and a 30-mile drive.

I use tools r us for our industrial account. They have the products we need at a damn good price. It is a fun store to just wander around and look at tools… all sorts of tools!!! Look out for their special deals. They must buy items in bulk then pass the savings along. I have picked up a few items well below the price of the big box stores, and it is always nice to support the smaller guys.
