Good food, good price, good portions. Me and my girlfriend enjoyed eating here Sunday afternoon. We got the sampler appetizer with fried pickles, mushrooms and mozzarella sticks the horseradish dip is amazing. I had the black and blue pasta and she had the chicken with capers and artichokes can’t remember the name of the dish. We will for sure return. In fact I just finished the leftovers today for lunch. Oh and the bread the serve is so good!!!

We were a party of three stopping for a late lunch on a Sunday afternoon off Interstate 24 en route from Kentucky to Chattanooga. We stopped at Papa Ron’s hoping for a brief relaxed lunch. We were promptly seated and they took our drink order and our meal order. I ordered a cup of mushroom soup and a lettuce wedge salad. The other two in our party ordered a chicken salad sandwich and a prime rib sandwich au jus. The drinks were served fairly quickly and over a period of 45 minutes the drinks were refilled twice. The rolls were served and finally the cup of mushroom soup was served, barely warm, the sandwiches were never served and neither was the lettuce wedge salad. I tried to summon the busy waitress several times but could not get her attention. After sitting there an hour and ten minutes without the rest of the meal being served, and without further contact with the waitress, we paid the cashier for the soup, roll and drink explaining to her we had to give up on the food. The cashier did not seem to care, took the money without any apology whatsoever. This is not a review of the food since our meal (other than the mushroom soup) was never served, but rather a review of the service and the attitude of the waitress and the cashier with whom we had contact. Some who arrived later than we did appeared to be served. Would not recommend this place at all if you do not have an afternoon to wait around.
Later: After revisiting this review a few months later, and the manager’s explanation of the problems they were experiencing, unknown to me at the time, I would definitely give it another try when I happen to be in the area. The restaurant probably would not have
been that popular had it operated in that mode consistently. That particular day, the communication was lacking and we had no way of knowing what was happening in the kitchen. It was definitely an unfortunate day to have tried Papa Ron’s for the first time. Will stop at a later date.

Great place on the mountain. Good basic pasta dishes and Italian food with a relaxed family atmosphere. Good food and service as well. A good stop if you are traveling through or staying in Monteagle

This may be the best Italian food in Monteagle but I would prefer something else. Salad was large but mostly crappy iceberg lettuce. Bleu cheese dressing from a bottle, or can. Veal Piccata way too salty, not fresh veal, heavily breaded, no lemon taste. Sautéed spinach and artichokes very bland with much too much oil. Bread was good and served with an herbed butter.
Service was prompt and courteous.

Second time there while visiting family. Service is good. Food is good. Wine list is boring and cheap. Needs some work. The only problem the last time was the customer service. We walked in around 8:15 4 adults 1 child, and they let us know that they closed at 9. Well I’m sorry but that’s when you stop accepting tables, not kick out customers. They rushed our food out. I was maybe a quarter through my salad when my salmon came out and then they dimmed the lights at 9. Just not courteous. Step up the wine list and your knowledge of customer service.

The service was okay but it is not okay to use fake crab meat in their seafood dishes. The men’s room could use a little attention.

The last trip proved to be less than desirable! The filet was tough and had lots of gristle. Sorry folks I want take the chance and go back!

The steak was cooked properly but poorly seasoned and thin, the salad was chopped Iceberg. The wine selection uninspired and boring. I didn’t bother ordering a glass. Barefoot? Really? Muzak on the radio. lite jazz. The entire staff was fighting an upper respiratory infection but was really having a nice time. With each other. I ate in silence at the bar. I think this is an old local favorite though. definitely not mine.

Prompt service. Candles usually. I recommend any of the specialty pizzas. A couple can easily get in and out for under twenty dollars.
