I love this place. I come here for haircuts, and after a recent mishap with my hair color, they helped me bring it back to my original color. Yah Ultra!

I couldn’t be happier. Paris cut my hair so nice and clean! She’s really nice and cut my hair so its even. I had her cut it very short and I am in love with it. I would recommend her to anyone.

This is my second review at this salon. I have been trying to let my grey grow out and having highlights put in hoping to make the transition easier. I remembered this other hairdresser (Paris) who’s hair color was impressive to me and decided to try her. I’m so glad I did. She took almost all of the gold out of my hair and it blends so much better. She asked a lot of questions and really nailed it. If you are looking for a colorist, PARIS is the one. I’m very pleased.

The owner here is not very friendly at all! I have gone 3 times and she never even smiles or says hi. She just looks at you from head to toe. & the worker there that is always changing her hair color is always in a bad mood she looks angry and doesn’t even greet you. Never coming back again. Customer service is just a joke!!!

This my second time coming and each time I am very satisfied with their work. Each time I have gone they take their time to really ask you what you want and give you their professional opinion. This time Karina cut my hair and she did an amazing job fixing my weird hair. She was friendly and excited about my wavy hair. She was able to make it look great and gave me pointers on how to style it at home. I think I’m going to keep coming here because I love it :)

Parris does awesome work! I was in desperate need of change from the bland style I had achieved from never dying it and being too lazy/​cheap to get a nice cut every once in a while. She really just understands what look you’re going for and explained everything to me so I knew what she was going to do. She really took her time and made sure I was comfortable with it. I highly suggest going to her if you worry about the stylist not understanding what style you want.

went back to Parris for a haircut and she definitely never disappoints. she listens to you very intently and it shows in the result. i LOVE my hair so much. thank you Parris!

I highly recommend this place for many reasons. For one, Paris always gets it right. I am very easygoing and believe in letting the artist work their canvas, but for some reason every other place I went to would end up making my hair look the same. Not with Paris– she just gets it. She’s highly trained and constantly working to improve her craft. She is teaching at a beauty college and that speaks for itself. My hair went from boring everyday curl to blonde bombshell. I am so happy here and thankful for her.
I love the staff and the environment. No pretentious attitudes here as in other salons. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. Appointments are easy to make.

I love Veronica. She is so friendly and bubbly and will always give you the truth about what is going to be best for you and your hair. I trust her so much, esp because she knows how careful and picky I am with my hair and never steers me wrong. I’m deducting a star because parking can suck (either on busy Whittier or in the back lot) and I’ve yet to be seen on time, even with my appointments. Other than that, I love Ultra.

Darlene has been cutting my hair for over 10 years and I’m so glad she opened her own shop! My hair is long and thick and other stylists had trouble taming my mane. I used to dread hair appointments (I’ve even left salons crying) and would wear a ponytail or baseball hat most days until I met Darlene.
Darlene does an amazing job with my hair, taking the time to make sure each strand of hair is cut, colored, and put into place. I love that she offers honest advice and isn’t afraid to tell me that a color or haircut will not work with my face shape or hair type. She has also come in early or stayed late to accommodate my busy work schedule.
The shop is super cute but small (so advance appointments are a must). There are also great brushes, shampoo and conditioner, and styling products available from all my favorite brands.
I’ve had blow outs, up-​dos, highlights, cut and color and never been disappointed!

I made an apt for my friend here. I liked the way ruth took care. of the details she was precise and very friendly. I could feel appreciated as a prospective customet. Then when she returned my call wi th the details I was very pleased with the rapid response. I spoke to darlene as well she was very helpful and the place is very affordable. I will update once their services are done.

So glad I trusted the Unilocal reviews. I’m not one to walk-​in to a hair salon and take my chances. I like knowing that my hair is in the right hands. I walked-​in and got Natalie. I’m glad to know that I trusted my hair in the right hands. She did a Fantastic job!!! It’s hard to find someone that will cut your hair the exact way you tell them. I uploaded a before and after. Seeing that my hair was very long and I was going very drastic to a short bob. For now she said she is only there Saturday’s but I guess you can always call to make an appointment or check availability. Thank you, Natalie!!!

I was in need of a total hair change. Darlene did an amazing job. I got highlights, color and a trim. It looks awesome and I will definitely be back.

I’m not one to be a «walk-​in» patron, but my go to hair stylist was indisposed and I was in dire need of a hair cut.
I decided on Ultra Hair Studio because my friend highly recommended Parris.
I’m so glad I took the chance! Parris was absolutely lovely! She was very amiable and attentive. She asked a lot of questions about how I normally style my hair and what look I was going for. She was extremely hospitable and made me feel very comfortable.
When the process was done, I was ecstatic! She did such an amazing job! I love my hair so much! I’m so thankful for the recommendation, and NOW, I highly recommend Parris to anyone that is looking for a hair stylist! She is absolutely wonderful! Thanks Parris!!! :)

I found Ultra Hair Salon from Unilocal and first came into the salon as a walk-​in. I was helped by Paris (or is it Parris?) who was fantastic. Very friendly and professional. I was going from blonde to dark and everyone knows that a terrible transition time. They use Schwarzkopf color which also happens to be what I’ve been using to color my hair since I started so that was a definite plus. Paris was very understanding and listened to everything I said. She has a good eye and cut my hair perfectly. I’ve gone to her a few times now and she always does a great job. The salon does get busy, but Paris has never shorted me on attention at any point of being there. The other stylists are just as friendly and personable as well. I definitely consider myself a regular now since I wouldn’t trust my dye jobs to anyone else now.
–The prices are on the lower end for salons that I’ve been to, but they are in the average price range for hair salons. You aren’t going to be getting a Supercuts or a Fantastic Sam’s cut/​color so don’t expect the prices to be.
–The location can be tricky to spot, but keep in mind that it is at the end of the row of stores and nearby an empty lot on the corner.
–Also when you first go they have you fill out a customer form thing and if you give them your email they on occasion have specials for a month or extra things that they offer at the salon. I took advantage of a cut&color one a few months ago. It’s a really good deal.
–they do close fairly early 6−7pm, but on one occasion Paris stayed a little later than usual to finish up my cut & color. I was working till late so I couldn’t get there earlier, but she was amazing and worked with my schedule which definitely means a lot.

ok soI needed to get my hair done it has been a while I called they were super nice over the phone made an appointment for the same day on a sat. I saw Veronica and let me just say she is amazing and easy to talk to I felt like I was sitting with a friend I knew for years. I came out of there feeling awesome love my hair I will be going back!

I walked in one day just to check it out, and Maggie was the one who greeted me. She was so sweet and warm that it made me feel like I had been going for years. She asked what I wanted and did exactly that. She does fantastic color as well. I just gave her a more or less what I wanted and it ended up coming out better than expected.
Im one happy customer and still continue going and trusting Maggie with my hair :)

I was long overdue for a haircut. I wanted to try a salon that was closer to home so I turned to my trusty Unilocal app and found this place in Montebello. I read the reviews and decided to make an appointment with Darlene. I kinda felt the need to do something different, maybe some highlights. Thanks to this salon I discovered the ombré look. I decided to talk to lovely Darlene about it and give it a try. I wanted a softer ombré and not the intense dark to blond look. She knew exactly what I was talking about.
The salon is small, clean and cozy. You can park in front of the salon or in the lil lot in the back. Darlene was super friendly, she was a great listener and very knowledgable. The ombré turned out perfect and the cut was great. Great experience at this salon! I am definitely coming back!
