Best kept secret in Monterey Park. The Chinese Chicken Salad is the best! Filipe is the master salad and sandwich maker.

Friendly staff. Good variety of easy-to-prepare items. If you work in the Corporate Center, this is the only place to which you can walk to eat. Oreos, cashews, trail mix, M&Ms, and other treats in the corner past the end of the line. Great for a quick pick me up! I wouldn’t come out of your way to try this, but if you’re in the Corporate Center for business, it’s a fine choice for lunch. You can sit outside and enjoy some shade trees and view of the valley, albeit partially obstructed by the many cars in the parking lot. I must say the Californian bagel sandwich I ordered was surprisingly tasty.

I love this place. I have worked in the area for over 20 years, and quite frankly, there is no better place to go for a great variety of fresh salads, sandwiches and specialty items: bagel sandwiches, paninis, different specials every day(Mexican club wrap, Udon Soup, Chicken Curry, etc). I basically rotate between the tostada salad(which is not a typical tostada salad, it’s fresh greens with chips and tasty chili poured over it), chinese chicken salad, and the best tuna sandwich I’ve ever had. Though I’ve had their paninis, soups, the New Yorker, you name it. They also do a nice breakfast. It’s family run, clean and friendly.

The place is downstairs from where I work, and… the food was… okay. The bad part about it is that it’s WAYYY overpriced! I mean, come on… a large Caesar Salad(with chicken) for $ 6.75? Come on, guys… I could get a tuna salad sandwich combo with chips and a soda for that kind of price. Oh yeah, can you do SOMETHING about that chili of yours??? Can you make it… not that oily? Man, even LOOKING at it sometimes makes me cringe with a raised eyebrow. *Sigh*

Stopped here for breakfast while working in the area. I was pleasantly surprised. Had a onion bagel w cream cheese. Soft and hot. Very tasty. Good coffee. Breakfast burritos were bomb and the Japanese lady running the place was very cool. Would happily return if I work nearby again.

Great place for a quick working lunch. The ingredients are all very fresh, with decent prices, and the café is extremely clean. They offer daily specials, often with items a little more exotic(Udon on Tuesdays, haven’t tried it yet). There’s not much else to say. The owner is a very nice, charming, Japanese lady. It’s usually fairly busy with patrons from local businesses, but the service is quick and the sandwiches are made in front of you. If you’re in a quandry over lunch, give it a shot. You won’t be disappointed.
