Is this under new management? The menu is extremely different from the other franchises. I am not a fan of this location and realized the prices have been heavily jacked up. My friend and I came to visit and ordered the chicken katsu to share. We ordered it spicy and basically got no heat. Also ordered a corn potage(reg. size) that was way too salty. I should’ve tried it before peppering the entire surface area. The curry pan was also underwhelming. The proportion of deep fried bread to curry filling was about 4 to 1. Not the best curry house around.

Visited here yesterday with a few friends last night. We couldn’t decide where else to eat so we decided on stopping in here. I got the Chicken Leg Katsu with Hot spiciness. The portions are deceivingly more than it looks. You get a choice of soup or salad with a curry dish. This is my usual order when I come here. I’m a sucker for their tropical iced tea since they give you some simple syrup on the side as well to adjust for sweetness. There aren’t too many other places that do this locally other than Savoy I believe. I also tried my friend’s Keema Curry which had a lot going on. There were mushrooms, chili peppers, carrots, potatoes, and an egg. I might just stick with my chicken katsu next time. Another friend ordered the Delux Chicken Leg Katsu which comes with rice that is curried and it’s covered with a thin egg omelette. We cleared out the jar of ginger at the table. It’s a great condiment to the curry. Their tofu cheesecake is spot on as well. It might sound weird, but definitely order it if you get a chance. The consistency is light and airy with the creaminess of regular cheesecake.

I hate that I have to put one star there so I can write my review! No star should be an option, Unilocal! Ok, I just had dinner with my daughter there and their food was horrible! First, my daughter’s salad was rough like old dead leaves; second, my daughter’s sesame chicken curry was very salty; third, my curry chicken udon was also extremely salty, and the potato in it tasted like it had gone bad. The salty soup base makes sense because they wanted to cover the potato’s weird taste! Come on, owner, if u serve fresh potatoes to ur customers it will barely cost you anything ! I am definitely not going there anymore!

It use to be good, but the food quality has gone down. The curry is average. I ordered spicy and it was not even spicy. Something was lacking in flavor. The chicken katsu did not taste like it was just made, but like they reheated it. It’s also overpriced for chicken and rice. I am not returning and do not recommend to anyone.

Generally speaking, I do like Curry House. Usually get their Katsu — either pork or chicken or Menchi Katsu. Occasionally, their Deluxe Shrimp. Opted to try their Salmon Special the last time I went. Um, it’s alright/so-so at best. Let’s just say, you won’t be missing out if you never had it. The steak one is better, but pricey.

Probably one of the best services we’ve had all week!!! The customer service was great and the food was prepped and made in a very timely manner. I am completely amazed at the professionalism that this place has. Definitely will come here versus OTHER stores nearby.

I haven’t been to Curry House in awhile. The last time I was here the salad came with the chicken katsu. Now they give you an option of salad or corn soup on the side. So when our dish came out it looked kind of plain. However the curry still tastes good just how I remembered it. The waiter/waitresses were very attentive. Always check on us and made sure our drinks were always full. What I noticed is this place is definitely kid friendly. Upon arrival they give kids coloring activities to keep them occupied and the menu also caters to kids.

I have been going to the Curry House in Little Tokyo for years now, so I decided to try the Monterey Park location in the Atlantic Times Square. Parking is so frustrating at this place. Sorry, I had to vent that fact. In any event, I tried the chicken curry with two wieners. The curry tasted just fine. Creamy and not too spicy, but the chicken was a bit too tough for my liking. I recommend the katsu chicken for more flavor and tenderness albeit it is deep fried. The two wieners didn’t taste like anything. Food came out fast. Overall, this place works for lunch or for a quick meal. I wouldn’t advise to take your date to this place. It’s boring, but fills your tummy with some decent Japanese curry.

Came by on a Saturday night. The place very crowded, about half full. Somewhat slow for a Saturday night but maybe it was just an off night. Food can be a little pricey as compared to other individually owned restaurants but the quality is on par. I ordered the pork chicken Katsu with extra rice and curry for $ 1.50 more. They put the extra rice and curry on the side so you know you do get your extra. For those who like their curry spicy, skip ordering the extra spicy for an additional. On their tables, they include their very special hot curry oil. Just a few drops of it can add pretty good amounts of spicyness and its free!

~3.75 stars really Quite empty on a weekend at 2pm. I noticed they seat people near the window so it looks like there’s more people eating; smart. With that, it’s harder for the employees to see the seated customers. Prices are pretty steep here hmm… FOOD: Pork tonkatsu curry: Simple and classic. Comes with crispy pieces of pork cutlet on top of a bed of white rice and the curry on the other side of the plate. Wish there was more to the curry like more corn, maybe a small portion of vegetables on the side, but some people might not like it. I tasted the cashew butter in the curry, which made it taste richer in flavor. If you like a medium spicy at Boiling Point, you can get the medium or flaming(? whatever is next to medium) spiciness level for the curry.

Pretty good menu selections. Haven’t been for awhile and it was still very good. Service was fast and friendly. Good value as you could walk out of there very full and satisfied. I like Curry House and look forward to my next visit.

This our first time at the Curry House in Monterey Park , I know there’s a Curry House Restaurant in Little Tokyo but there are couple Curry House in different areas. My wife and I came to have dinner before we went to the movies. As we entered the restaurant you can smell the curry literally that it makes you hungry. We sat down and looked at the menu, we decided to get the Katsu chicken curry with a soup and a side order of edamame. The server brought us our meal the chicken curry and the edamame. One bite of chicken curry was amazing good, the curry wasn’t overpowering the katsu chicken and rice mixing together wow a good taste. My wife and I enjoy the edamame it’s probably one of our flavor. The service was good we enjoy the Curry House we would back soon.

Came here on a Sunday afternoon and surprisingly the wait was only 5 minutes for a table. Thankfully it was a short wait since it was so cold that day. The service here is great, everyone is very nice. Water is served only upon request. I had the Deluxe Menchi Katsu Curry. It came with a side of salad. The Deluxe part is that the rice is fried rice, instead of white rice and it also comes with an egg. The mild curry was very satisfying since I love curry, but I cant handle spicy food. My friend ordered the same thing just with the spiciest, and that comes with an extra charge of 50 cent.

Pretty standard Japanese curry house. Service was fast and the restaurant was clean. Plenty of seating. Parking is available in the lot. Portion was good for the price. Katsu was well cooked and not dry like most places. I didn’t care too much for the salad. The actual curry was ok, not the flavor I was used to but still good.

First time here. I had a craving for curry and my friends told me this place was pretty good. I was not too pleased with my meal. Either I was really hungry or it was a small portion. I ordered the Ground Chicken and Tofu Curry with Spinach rice. It was decent but I should have got another specialty. The service here is great and the servers were very nice. I would give it another try next time, especially on a cold night.

We’ve been going to Curry House for almost 20 years, and have seen a distinct growth of the company, and an expanded menu. The restaurant is health conscience, and serves brown rice and low calorie noodles which are actually pretty good. The kids enjoy the kids menu from when they were little, which included corn portage, Japanese sausage, rice, and I think a curry. For us adults, we tend to go towards the vegetable spaghetti when eating light, or the menchie beef curry for the manly dish. For guys, it seems tonkatsu is a favorite, and the types of spices are mild through extra hot. there are a few relishes on the table to try with your curry, although it is quite limited, compared to what was provided years ago. Iced coffee and Thai Iced Tea are really good here, and they provide the syrup to adjust to your tastes. soft drinks are unlimited, so drink up on a hot summer night.

Lots on the menu so whatever your Curry flavor this place has it. Health conscious? They have salads and brown rice and multi-grain rice options. Plenty of seating and roomy décor to not make you feel stuffy or crammed in to the restaurant like sardines. Prices are reasonable and staff is commonly friendly. They are helpful and deliver as requested, so can’t complain.

AWESOMESAUCE!(Literally) — — — — — — — - Why do I say that? Because this place definitely has a cool hipster vibe, just like Daiso. The menu looks like it could belong in an animé magazine. The food is up to snuff. The curry is where they really shine(of course, because this is what they sell in Asian supermarkets). Our party ordered various dishes, from the mundane(teppan-style spaghetti with hot dog and raw egg) to the interesting(moist burger patty entrée with rice, where the patty was mixed with bread crumbs and onions), to the sublime(Keema curry with a soft boiled egg on top). The curry was extremely flavorful, just like the Java Curry that they sell at the markets. But the best part of the meal was the nondescript-looking bottle of Worcestershire sauce. Trust me on this one, it is NOT your typical bottle of Lee and Perrins(which has become increasingly watered down over the years). This was sweet, tangy, slightly savory. I caught myself pouring this over the non-curried parts of my rice, because it tasted THAT good. After lunch, we immediately went to 168 market to look for this amazing sauce. The closest we found was Bulldog brand Japanese Worcestershire sauce. Can’t wait to try it — Fingers crossed that this is the one!

I come here whenever I have a craving for Japanese curry. We usually get the curry rice set, which comes with salad, a small cup of corn pottage, and two pieces of fried shrimp. I like this dish because you get a little bit of everything. We also get the omelette rice, and the chicken katsu curry rice. In general, their food is not bad. Sign up for their newsletters to get occasional specials/promos. Parking is free in the underground structure. However, parking can be tough at this location because the parking structure is poorly designed.

Japanese curry, dark, bold, spicy the way I like it and hot. There’s nothin’ like it. There’s nothin’ like it, unless you go to Japan. Or the Little Tokyo in DTLA’s Curry House serves it too. I know their curry is authentic. I hear Artesia and the west LA locations have it down also. But here, its uncharacteristic. I was looking for a mahogany looking spicy curry and didn’t get it here. It was medium brown even though I asked for spiciest. That should have produced their darkest looking, boldest tasting curry. I’ve only gone to the Little Tokyo location and tried this loco twice for curry, once for pasta. Same result, same uncharacteristic almost out of the box tasting Japanese curry. Plus part of the salad was wilted both times I came. Service was stellar. But not enough to lure me for another visit. Visits: 2 Compare my review to Curry House on Weller Court: Tip: People seem to order the seafood curry special a lot. I haven’t tried it but not a fan of seafood and curry together :(Parking in the mall not a problem until Dimsum Saturday and Sunday at Atlantic Restaurant in the mall from 12 – 2. Parking is a problem when you come here those times.
