I received a new sewing machine for Christmas, but had almost no sewing experience. I had seen Bella’s studio from the street, but didn’t realize what it was until I Googled it out of curiosity. What a lovely find! The studio is open and bright, with beautiful views of downtown Monterey. Bella is extremely knowledgeable and very patient with her students. Her patterns and projects are fresh and modern, not old-​fashioned and cheesy like you sometimes see in sewing classes at craft stores. I took her Sewing Fundamentals series and loved it. She also offers classes and camps for children, and I wish I could take those, too!

My twin girls have been wanting to learn to sew and I haven’t sewn in years! Several weeks ago I mentioned this to a friend and she told me about Bella’s! The girls just finished a week of camp and actually learned the basics of sewing. They made a pillow, a pin cushion and some hair clips! Very impressive! Bella is very talented and must have lots of patience! In four days of camp, she instilled the basics of sewing and created a love of sewing in them. I am looking forward to learning more myself and can’t wait to take a class with her. Her shop is located downtown Monterey so it is very convenient and light and bright inside! Thank you Bella!
