Rudest manager EVER. «Beth» if that’s her real name needs not only glasses but lessons in customer service before she tries to keep clothes on the floor with visible stains then refuses to slightly discount them for final sale. Store is always lacking in sizes too, so it’s frustrating when you find something but need it in a different size.

I’m glad there is a Gap in Monterey but it’s kind of meh. They recently renovated it and, in doing so, swapped the men’s and women’s clothing sides in the store. If you shop here regularly, it feels sort of disorienting. But maybe they were trying to incorporate Paco Underhill and feng shui because I think it will eventually make sense(once it feels«normal»). Some of the people who work here are great and some you wonder why they are in customer service. But what annoys me most about this store(and I’m deducting a full star for this because I think it is BS) is that they are still distributing plastic shopping bags — more than a year after the ban. Ugh! Get it together.

I have had a gap card for most of 10 years and have been a shopper here for most of 25 years. I am 43. I have ALWAYS loved gap. BUT… For the first time in 25 years I tried to return two items that were defective. I bought a pair of sanders for vacation and after wearing them the right sandal felt very loose. I took them off and measured the straps and although the sole size was the same the straps on the right, they were an inch and a half bigger than the left! Also I had a simple t– shirt I was wanting to return because the stitching came apart. Granted, I wore the shirt probably about 5 times but the sandals only ONCE!!! They would not take back either!!! Finally the store manager said he would let me exchange the sandal but for the exact sandal. Well they were out of the same color in size 8 and they wouldn’t exchange it for another sandal… I even had the receipt… So I left with defective merchandise. I do not remember this ever being your policy. I dont return things that often so I dont know when it changed but as a company you should ALWAYS return defective merchandise. So now I’m stuck with some defective stuff and a high available limit on my gap card which I will never use again. Sad… You are gonna have to step up your customer service and policy’s if you are gonna survive in these days. There are lots of other stores to shop at now at DMC.

Compared to other retail stores, the store did OK. I shopped there frequently, having worked at another store in the mall. Select members of the staff went above and beyond my expectations as a customer, while others felt a little cold to me. The clothing is amazing and the jeans couldn’t fit any better!

Gap has great sales and their clothes last and fit. The sales assistants help you when you are trying on clothes and you can take as many items in the dressing room at one time as you wish. I am so tired of having a limit of 5 items and then having to get dressed and go out to get more items. The assistants come by and ask if you need any other sizes or colors. I would rather pay a bit more and get service and better clothing. Forever 21 and H&M have inferior cheap clothing in my opinion and Macy’s is a mess now. The dressing rooms at Macy’s where piled with clothes others had left and there is no one to assist you. What happened to the days of sales assistants helping and even suggesting different styles or colors! Hooray for Gap and also Banana Republic!

I’ve been against this company for so long, and now I have embraced them because their clothes fit so well. The store is clean, well-organized, and always a nice cool temperature. Their sales are great too if you wander in on a good day.

The GAP has 50% off some amazing sweaters right now — run over if you can!

This place is not the warm bubbly friendly joint that I recall when they first appeared at Del Monte. The interior is much more cold and office like. Neat yes but shelves are packed with gloomy colors right now and it doesn’t help with the weather being dreary but I think some bright colors and fun window scenes would help this quiet Gap out. I love BR but Gap is slowly moving in that direction which I don’t think is right… Banana Republic is Banana Republic(office casual and office chic) and Gap should be just that Gap(fun, athletic, comfortable everyday basics).
