Great local spot. I got the tri-tip on Dutch crunch, which was amazing. I ordered mine to go and went to Casa Verde Beach down the road. Perfect lunch day if you ask me

Great little market and sandwich spot. La Sala’s has fresh bread delivered daily; when ordering pick the bread yourself (with the tongs) and hand it to the very nice ladies making sandwiches. They then custom make your sandwich. Grab a drink and maybe some chips and pay at the register. This place has a good feeling about it that inspires one to do very nice things for others; make sure to always pay it forward if you know what I mean.
Parking is a little challenging as there is only street parking but it is usually not a problem unless you get there right at the lunch hour, then plan on walking a bit; it’s worth it though. Thank you La Sala (The Room) :)

Monterey, CA — Very close to Highway 1.
* Decent mini market but the sandwiches are what shines most.
* Most recently the Daily Special with everything — Beef sandwich. Excellent.
* I’ve been here two or three times in past few years and consistency is on point. Always a good sandwich too!
* Staff friendly and down to earth.
* Limited indoor and outdoor seating.
* If in the area owe it to yourself and check this place out.
* I 100% prefer over Mundos that’s down the street.

We stopped by here to get sandwiches and were pretty impressed by the quality and low price! My boyfriend made his own vegetarian sandwich and recommends the chipotle mayo. I had a pastrami sandwich which was also very good. I’m not sure what the non deli portion is like, but if you want tasty, cheap, totally customizable sandwiches this place is great!

I come here all the time! The sandwiches are always so delicious and well worth your money. Even when there’s a line they’re always on top of it and make the sandwiches quickly. Fresh bread and rolls every day! And the guy at the counter is always asking about how you’re doing. Love this place! :)

I love their sandwiches! They used to have a special that I loved, you paid $ 4.99 and got a ½ sandwich, fountain drink, and bag of chips. But seriously these are the best sandwiches in the area. They also got breakfast burritos with sausage that I have not tried because I don’t eat red meat. I wish they had more vegetarian options. Fast and friendly staff.

At first I was bummed out when I was told that they only had sesame rolls left in the supply bins; but, my disappointment instantly vanished when I bit into my turkey bacon avocado sandwich. Wow. So fresh and such a great value. I will be bringing my wife with me next time so we can share a sandwich and a pleasant experience together.

What I got: A turkey sandwich at the Deli inside.
What I thought: Delicious. Very fresh. Fast service. Friendly staff. Perfect price point ($ 7). It’s nice to be able to grab what ever else you want from the market before checkout. Awesome spot for a quick bite, but it’s nothing that’ll blow your mind.
Would I do it again: Many times over. They seem to have good specials too, i’ll have to get that next time.

Absolutely marvelous little shop. And close to the beach, making it a MUST STOP SHOP!
Friendly folks AND clientele! You get to grab your own bread & hand it to the sandwich preparer. Meatball sandwich is the MAC & Their tri-tip sandwich is delicious and economical, though I get it DRY (sos). Check for days they sell it, doubt it’s daily, but WELL worth the wait. Try the «Italian beef» too, HUGE serving of meat & taaaaaasteee!
Slamm’in sandiches, ice cold beer & bevs, pretty girls and happy customers. What else do you want?

Even though I’m a local I had never tried this little place until a few days ago. I must say, IT IS GOOOOOOD!!! I got a salami sandwich and it was so tasty. I like the fact that you get to choose and grab your own bread roll as well. Check this place out well worth the ⁷⁄₈ bucks.

Only reason I gave it a 3 was the Garlic bread was a little dry and hard. Although the tri-tip was AMAZINGa and juicy! My coworkers enjoyed the Pastrami on the white bread. Would definitely go back, maybe just try a different bread. Nice little gem en route to Monterey Bay Aquarium!

It’s a mom and pop deli with several tables to eat in. At 12:30pm there were 6 people in line to order but surprisingly the three employees behind the counter were so quick. I ordered the chicken bacon ranch and it was made in less than 3 minutes. The sandwich was good but nothing exceptional. For $ 8.50 it should come with a side or at least a pickle but all you get is a sandwich. The place was clean but I had to clean the table myself before sitting down.

IF YOUVE NEVER YOU MUST. Best pulled pork anywhere. & it’s the 1 thing I always order when I see it on a menu. The sad thing is that it’s only available on Tuesdays!
