One of the best sandwiches ever! Had the Argentinian Tri-Tip based on recommendations here. The reviews were spot on! Simply awesome. Had a potato salad on the side and it was great as well. My favorite spot in Monterey now.

First of all, I hate giving 5 stars anywhere. That said, I had the Cubano w tri-top, which comes on ciabatta bread, and it was spectacular. Easily a half-here, half-to-go size, but just lean enough to not feel stuffed when I ate it all at one sitting. Lightly sharp seasoning on the chorizo still lingers as I write this at the restaurant, but won’t last the walk back to the hotel. Table seating, Cuban music, good chips and San Pellegrino Orange to drink, among others. The manager says they’re not doing as much coffee service as they used to, due to lack of customer interest. But the sandwiches are superb.

I’ve heard sooo many good things about this place so of course, I had to try it! The atmosphere was kind of awkward when I first came in. I came at 6:40ish, and it was EMPTY. Like I’m talking no music, no customers, and not even anyone at the front counter. My friend and I were just talking and looking at the menu, and eventually someone came to take our orders. I got the Argentinian tri-tip, and I don’t really have any complaints about it. The meat was super tender, the chimichurri sauce was very flavorful, and the BREADOMG. The bread is absolutely perfect. The sandwich itself is very simple, but it all worked together really well. The sandwich looks small, but when you start eating, you realize how filling it is. It’s a little pricy at $ 10, but the quality is well worth it. The staff is not very personable, however, and they only came out to take our orders and bring out our food. When we left, there was no one there(again) and after we walked out, we noticed that the«Open» sign was turned off. But it was only 7:15ish… very strange.

We shared the Tri Tip hot sandwich. The bread was delicious, as was the chimichurri sauce. We were not used to tri tip being slow cooked, cooked through so that was a little disappointing bug overall the sandwich was good. The price was around $ 10 which I feel was a little high for what we got but it is Monterey… The service was fast and the server was friendly. I would go back but try something different next time.

My boyfriend and I were just getting into town to visit for a mini vacation and were starving! We wanted to try something new, so I relied on Unilocal reviews to find us a good sandwich place. SODELICIOUS!!! I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting!

Excellent BLT at a good price. The bread is super tasty(same on all sandwiches). I also got a chicken sandwich with some kind of chutney or something. That one was just ok. Overall I’d come here over the alternative sandwich places in the area 10⁄10.

Very clean and great service! They have kids stuff too. Argentinian Tri tip is the best selling but we got the turkey cub. Yummy!

I’m rating 5⁄5 stars as a thank you for the 10 delicious sandwiches that Mundos made for a Christmas party I threw today. The manager Fernando was easy to work with and accommodating. The vegetarian options were great. We ate off site by the location on Webster is clean and well lit. Service was excellent overall. I will be going back. Thanks again!

This is my go-to place when I feel like a sandwich. Great variety of flavorful home cooked food. I am staying away from cheese for a while(digestive problems) and there is not another sandwich place in Monterey which has a choice of sandwiches that does not depend on cheese. I had the Moroccan Brisket sandwich and it was delicious! It was full of flavor, yet not too spicy(and no cheese, yay!). The brisket was slow cooked and tender, flavored with red sweet peppers and tehina. Definitely having that one again! It is off the beaten path so you have to look for it; you are better off passing the other two sandwich shops on the main drag and heading for Mundos on Webster, around the corner from the bus triangle. They have a good selection of beverages too; I had ginger beer(non-alcoholic) from Australia– the perfect go-with for the brisket sandwich.

I love that this Mundo’s is slightly closer to me. Food is just as good as the original location on Fremont. This café has a lot more room for seating and would be a nice stop for lunch if you’re in the area. I ordered my usual, BBQ Brisket sandwich, and it was perfect. The bread holds the bbq brisket really well. Just pure meat, bbq sauce, melted cheese, and bread. Nothing else. Just what I needed that day. The sandwiches aren’t cheap, but they’re a good size and filling! Two meals easily. You can park on the street or in the back of the café easily. Stop by for lunch if you’re near by!

This is quite simply a gourmet restaurant which just happens to be serving the amazing food as sandwiches. Get in while you can! Everything is fresh, super flavorful and leaves you full and happy. This location has better seating and atmosphere than his original Fremont ave location but same great food as you’ll see the chefs rotating around from place to place. There is nothing on the menu that’s not amazing. My personal favorite is the chinicurri Chicken. I’m a word: YUM!

A go to lunch spot– With its very clean simple atmosphere these guys put together outstanding sandwiches that give my tastebuds the 1 – 2 punch. The combination of light fluffy bread, generous portions, and excellent sauce they have become my new local favorite weekday lunch spot.

I ate at the Mundos on Fremont Blvd and I was a fan. Now they have one in Monterey, just a 5 min walk from my work… I love it! Delicious and affordable and great size serving! I have tried several sandwiches and all are winners but what seems to my go to as of now is the chicken curry! Yummy! The only reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that I ordered it online and I got there 5 minutes past the quoted time it is suppose to be ready, I was in line with about 5 other customers ahead of me. When I got there they have not even made my order. Some lady after me called in her order and it was ready. I do like the idea of ordering it online and having it ready when I get there but there should be another area just for pick ups.maybe.
