There are maybe 5 or 6 places in the Monterey/​Carmel area where one can procure fine, hand made, premium cigars. This is definitely the best. No other shop has Tatuaje, Davidoff, Fuente Opus X, La Flor Dominicana and more in such abundance as this humble little B&M. Kudos to the proprietor.

My husband, toddler, and I were in the area for a visit to the Aquarium and my husband, having forgotten his pipe tobacco was hoping to find just such a shop for a relaxing evening smoke. We went inside, the place is like most local smoke shops. Stacks of cigar boxes everywhere, a decently sized humidor and fortunately for us a small selection of pipe tobacco.
Pipe tobacco is certainly not their specialty, but the man (assuming owner) was very helpful and friendly. They have a small sitting area for those wishing to enjoy their pipe or cigar in the shop.
We don’t live in the area, but would revisit again.

I am from DC and am in Monterey at least once every month or two, and everytime I come I make it a point to at least dedicate a solid 12 hours of my trip at the Humidor. Dave is not just a cigar shop owner, but an aficionado who is a passionate about cigars and sells only the highest quality cigars at very good prices. The Humidor is not just somewhere to go a buy cigars, but a place to relax and make new friends. There is a large base of regulars at the Humidor who are all great people with diverse backgrounds that will make you also feel like a regular with it is you first time or thousandth time at the shop. This is the best cigar shop on the Monterey Peninsula. Whether you are in Pebble Beach, Carmel, Monterey, or anywhere outside the Peninsular, and you love cigars, you are missing out if you have not been to the Humidor.

This place is a great place to relax. The prices are average but the atmosphere is great. He will answer any questions you have and then after you can down in the lounge area and smoke, I would definitely recommend this place.

Not a cigar smoker. However I spied the coolest cigar boxes as I walked past. They were $ 2 each and because I bought quite a few the owner knocked off a few bucks. Scored a nice wood one that is perfect for my drawing pens and several others that will come in handy when organizing my other art supplies.

If you want to go to a place that has some of the very hard to find cigars, this is the place. This place is well stocked and if you don’t see it ask. it may still be there. We were quite happy and would recommend this place to any and all connoisseurs of great cigars. Don’t miss this place.

Great place. I call it my home away from home. David who is the owner along with Preston are great hosts and has the best selection of premium cigars in the area. The comfy leather couches welcome your tired bottom on your well deserved days off. The «regulars» steadily drop in to enjoy a cigar with you and make conversations interesting. A must go if your in the area.

This is a small, cozy place where you can take a 60-​minute vacation with your favorite cigar. If you don’t see what you like, ask. Chances are David has it. Due to the small size not everything is quickly found.
The indoor ventilation and comfortable leather chairs make this a nice getaway. Come for the cigars, stay for the conversation.

This place is amazing! If you are new, the owner can be a little smothering, but it pays off to chat. He really knows what he is talking about. Great selection of cigars, lighters, and cutters. You are welcome to purchase a cigar, cut and light it right there. Large flat screen and comfy couches. And lastly, like a good American he gives military discounts!

In my considered opinion, this is the best cigar cigar shop in the bay area including the SF Bay Area. I have been to most of the shops in the region and find I am most comfortable in this shop. The selection is fresh and well thought out and very complete. The owner clearly is well connected and knows the trends in the business very well. His knowledge is unmatched as is his ability to meet a customer’s specific need and palate.
A great place to hang out with free parking too. Worth the drive from anywhere.

I’ve been to the Humidor about 4 times having found it the first time with the aid of Unilocal!The walk-​in humidor quality is terrific, and the ambiance of the small and comfortable space with flat screen TV is very welcome.
Absolutely one of the best cigar shops and lounges I’ve ever been to.

— Walked in and felt intimidated. We walked in and they were all on the couch and looked at us weird.
— Not a whole lot of selections of cigars in their humidor.

I compared this shop to the recent shop I frequented when I was in Alexandria, Virginia for a month not too long ago. The shop in Alexandria had tons more cigars, everything had a price tag on it… and prices ranged from $ 4.95 and up. Plus the owner came in and suggested and assisted us. I’m a novice with cigars… and hopefully when a shop owner sees the novice in us, they’d realized that we’re in there for a reason to actually buy something. Hate feeling intimidated.

This place moved over from the Crossroads in Carmel and I’m so glad I found them. David is the owner and really knows his stuff. He is helpful, friendly and always has great product.
The lounge is particularly comfortable and I spent a couple of hours chatting and smoking with David and some of his customers. I plan on spending more time in there over the holidays enjoying the ambience.

4 ½ stars for service and good cigars
Like the 2 other reviews to this place, I can’t complain, service good, lil small but there collection of cigars is thorough, they got 2 couches nice size flat screen tv and several torches, home humidors and other perks to this place. Depending on what kind of cigars you purchase the owner may show you his private collection of fine cigars. I will definitely visit this spot again when im in the area.

This was the first time that I ever visited The Humidor and I really like every aspect of it. I consider myself very new to the whole cigar world and this was a great place to start my adventure. The owner of the shop was very welcoming and help me choose a cigar that was right for me.
I have always wanted to try new cigars and The Humidor was great. There is wi-​fi in the shop and that was a real plus.
I will be back to this shop to increase my knowledge of cigars.
