Amtrak is a lifesaver. Yes one can travel in Vermont in style and comfort and it is not an automobile!
This station has heavy use for those country travelers headed to New York or DC as the «Vermonter» train passes through twice daily. The route is from St. Albans (used to be Montréal) to Washington DC, with all kinds of stops in between (NY, Philly).
This depot only has a parking lot (safe) and you can leave your car with no worries or fees.
A nice change from the car and high gas prices.
