This is on the pizza alone– I always order a plain pizza with mushroom and pepperoni. The crust and dough are thinner and taste great. I’ve read the other reviews about the older lady. Yes, she’s definitely rough around the edges but I don’t think she means any ill will. On the phone, she’s pretty abrupt, but in person, you can tell that’s just her. Her husband(I think?) seems a bit nicer but I just interpret this as an older couple, owning and selling pizza together. :)

The Plain Pizza is the best around! Taste is unique, dough is perfectly crispy and malleable, the sauce has flavor unlike any other pizza in North Jersey. With all the competition for thin crust pizza in the area, I rank Montville Pizza #1. The Chicken Cutlet Sandwich(w/lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo) is also a gem kept under the radar. This simple sandwich has more taste than any Italian deli/pizzeria in a 20 mile radius, and the owners of Montville Pizza are not Italian. Don’t let their nationality, extreme rudeness, or outdated interior fool you, they’ve got the pizza/chicken cutlet sandwich recipes down to a science. The bread is always perfectly toasted. The breading is light, and the chicken is juicy. Additionally, the prices are extremely cheap. Feels like I am ripping them off anytime I go here so I usually order too much. Pizza: less than $ 11.00 Chicken Cutlet Sandwich: less than $ 6.50 Hope this place never changes.
