Each time I go to this venue I am surprised at how good it is and how reasonable. I just heard that the owner might close. I hope this is not true and I have come to love this little local secret. The best crepes anywhere around. So fresh and one crêpe serves two adults if you want to share. Hope to continue to see them around and not just at the farmers market. We loved seeing them at the Cornelius art events in the evening

I have a really hard time passing by a crêpe shop, or in this case stand, and not getting something. I’ve seen Homegrown Crêpe a few times but never had a chance to sample their fare. I finally caught up with them at What The Truck! at Amos’ in Southend. Their menu offerings change each time, but they always have a savory crêpe and sweet crêpe. This time, their sweet crêpe was called the Flying Ninja. Filled with nutella and bananas, then topped with toasted coconut and espresso liqueur. Simply awesome! The crêpe was light, paper-thin, and the edges had a nice crispness to them. Nutella and banana pair perfectly together and the toasted coconut added a nice nutty taste and great texture. I also liked the subtle coffee flavor the espresso liqueur added to each bite. Prices are on par with other creperies. They offer gluten free crêpe batter for $ 1 more. The only downside, the plastic utensils they provide are kind of whimpy and make enjoying your crêpe difficult. I would suggest getting beefier plasticware. I’m looking forward to sampling more of their crepes!

This is the 2nd time I’ve seen this food truck er trailer(think Roaming fork) at Triple C and I’ve been wanting to try them. Such a creative idea. No burgers, no sandwiches, no tacos but crepes!!! The problem is that you do not get much of a selection — 2 entrée crepes and a desert crêpe. I went with a ham crêpe and it was wonderful as far as flavors and appearance but as far as something that is going to fill me up from drinking beer, I was a bit disappointed. Still, the staff was friendly, helpful and was willing to entertain my request to take it to go when I wanted to leave from Triple C. The problem with the entrée is the ham is diced cold cuts and the biggest flavor is from the fresh spring onions. I appreciate what they are doing and am a big supporter of food trucks, er trailers but if you are going to be the featured food truck at a brewery, at least do something that absorbs some of the alcohol. Still, I am am impressed and feel they are worthy of the 4 stars.,

I had the Guadalajara crêpe which was absolutely massive(a great split-lunch option). It was stuffed with braised pork shoulder, serrano white bean salad, jack cheese, pepittas, pico, and crème fraîche. They even topped it with sunflower seeds. It was excellent — perfect for fans of spice. It took under 5 minutes to prepare and the ingredients were very fresh. It was a decent priced lunch especially for the size -$ 7 including tax. Drinks are only a dollar, so that’s more than fair too. It would be great if they offered a smaller sized option for $ 5 or so since I’m not sure crepes hold up very well as leftovers. I look forward to trying their other options!

I love crepes and was excited to be able to finally try this food truck for the first time at the ‘Tawba Art Crawl in Cornelius. I had the Guadalajara, and boy, was it good! Filled with chipotle shredded pork, cheese, and white beans, and topped with pico and crème freche, the crêpe was a little spicy, fat and delicious. I also tried their new breakfast menu at the Bailey Road Farmer’s Market(Saturdays from 8am to noon, sponsored by Coffeehouse LKN). The Sunrise crêpe had an egg(fried or acrambled), spinach, bacon, cheese, green onions, and crème freche. Wow, was it good! And with a great latte from Coffeehouse, it was a perfect combination! This truck is definitely worth a «Like» on Facebook so you can see where they will be next!

I saw this crêpe truck after a long walk from the Cornelius Art Crawl, because the food trucks were pretty far away, it was well worth it though. I had the Chicken Mornay and it was AMAZING, it chicken, cheese sauce, roasted pumpkin seeds(favorite), spinach, and topped with crème fraîche. The prices were good compared to how much food you got in the crêpe, filled me up. I would definetly eat there again and I can’t wait to see them out on trade and tryon when the weather gets better!

I’ve actually never had a crêpe before, so when I saw their truck parked at the Rural Hill Food Truck Rally I was intrigued. All I had to see were the words pork, cheese, apple, and bacon used together to know that I would be eating that for dinner. Despite the rainy environment the crew were in good spirits and very friendly. It was cool to talk with them as I watched them make my crêpe on that circular iron and spread the batter around with the roller thingy. At $ 7 I felt it was a good price for what I got, because this crêpe was filling. I don’t recall if it had a name, I just called it the pork and apple crêpe. The crêpe itself was delightful and everything I always thought a crêpe would be. It was slightly sweet but not by much. The texture was so soft that I could cut it with just a fork, but not too soft where it was a mushy mess that was getting all over the place. The pork was weird as it didn’t really have a pork flavor. I don’t know if it was that the other flavors overwhelmed it or not, but if I didn’t see the shredded pork inside I wouldn’t have known it was in there. The apple were these crisp cubes that were slightly tart, and for me it was the perfect apple for this crêpe, though the miss’ would have preferred them to be a little sweeter. The cheese was super rich and made this dish quite filling. I couldn’t tell what kind of cheese it was and I didn’t ask, but whatever it was it worked really well with the other flavors going on. Then the bacon!!! Oh man, this bacon was done to perfection. It was thickly cubed and cooked to such a consistency that it was chewy and super flavorful. I don’t have a problem with crispy bacon by itself for breakfast, but in a meal I want it chewy and fatty and a tad greasy, and this is exactly how it was. I don’t know the usual stomping grounds for the Homegrown Crêpe as I forgot to ask and their website isn’t super informative. The meal we had was pretty dang good and I would definitely be on the lookout for them if I ever went to another rally or happened to stumble across them on the street. Their Nutella and banana crepes sounded so good and I would love to try them as a dessert in the future.

Came to work today in Uptown at Trade and Tryon and saw these guys setting up for breakfast. When they were still there at lunch time, I knew what I was eating. They only have a few varieties right now, but I got the Guadalajara with chicken. The only reason I gave 4 stars was because I ordered pork, and I’m still kind of bummed I didn’t have that when I got back to my office and opened the box. The consistency of everything was perfect, and the portion was pretty large IMO. Loved it. Hoping I see them again in the morning soon so I can try their Nutella crepes.
