This place is terrible. They completely ripped a $ 300 custom shirt that I hardly wear and offered me $ 30 in credit. Do not go here unless you want them to destroy your clothing and offer you nothing in return

Anna is absolutely fantastic! Super hard working, knows about fashion trends, does an amazing job fitting my expansive coats and pants and she is so friendly! I couldn’t recommend her enough!

This place is EXCELLENT for alterations on everyday clothes/suits, but also on very complicated formalwear. She has re-built and tailored dresses for us, altered a complex ball gown and created a modesty placket for it behind the corset back, and fitted cocktail dresses like a dream. There are always lots of gowns and dresses in progress in her shop, and she does costume work too(Victorian, Edwardian, etc.). See some pics on her wall. I haven’t used her as a cleaners, but she’s a wonderful seamstress! Since this is known, keep in mind that she’s quite busy, a small proprietorship, and so some jobs take some time to complete. Seasonality makes an impact(holidays, prom season). Price-wise, she’s worth every penny; not as cheap as many or as those in other suburbs, but far cheaper than the City — and easily does a better job.

I’m sorry to say I had a very negative experience with this business. On Monday, January 3, I took two coats into Hillside. One needed a seam repair and the other was my bomber jacket, which needed four patches sewn on. The Russian(?) lady at the counter told me the jackets would be ready on Friday the 7th and that the charge for sewing on the patches would be $ 5 each. I returned on Friday around noon and the jacket with the seam repair was ready, though the stitching seemed loose. The same lady told me that the bomber jacket would be ready at 3PM. I decided to wait until Monday the 10th to return. When I went in on Monday the Russian(?) lady said that three of the patches were sewn but the one on the sleeve needed to be done«at the company» and had been sent out. I noticed a sign that said«All Work Done on Premises» but decided not to make an issue of it. She told me that she would call me when the jacket came back. One week later I got a call from the Asian woman who does the sewing. She is indeed a very happy person and I was pleased with the work she had done on the same jacket years before. She was calling to tell me that she was just starting on the job(!). I said: «Do you mean that none of the patches have been sewn on yet?» «Yes, that’s right», was the reply. She also told me that it would be $ 16 just for the sleeve patch. I told her about the quote the other woman had given me and she said: «Oh no, she’s wrong». I canceled the job and picked up the jacket the next day. All I wanted was a proper price quote and honest answers. I got neither, and will never patronize this business again.

I want to give the lady that runs this place a big fat hug. She is a sweetheart! Very cheerful and always smiling and laughing. Haven’t used them for their dry cleaning, but she is SUPERB at alterations. I brought in a pair of jeans that had lost a button/rivet…and although she said she couldn’t replace it(one time deals, apparently), she was able to put new buttons in and my pants look wonderful! There are letters on the walls from high school students thanking her for fixing/making their prom dresses. This woman knows her way around a sewing machine!
