Ouch Beer was the only saving grace Very decent brew Bad Wings came out cold in the middle They fired new ones and took off one beer from the bill — did not want to chance it so left them House cured corned beef — nasty Was probably corned possum — prob our own fault for ordering corned beef in West by God Virginia Mac n cheese was an odd offering almost like mac n cream cheese Beef brisket was not good Beer pretzel was not good either Sorry I wanted to like this place

Top notch local spot in Morgantown. Food is normally really really good, and they have local specials every week. I’ve been back to the kitchen a bunch of times and it is PRISTINE clean. They really pride themselves on cleanliness and putting out a quality product. Service is fast, waitresses are awesome. You can even tour the brewery on mondays, but its open to view all the time. Very cool to see where the beer you’re drinking is coming from and they have a ton of options! They really do have something for everyone, and their bartenders, especially Whitney and Shane, are the best! If you don’t know what to order, they will help come up with a really good drink for you to suit your taste, and you can sample any of the beers before you order them! They really cater to customer service here. They always have drink special and music through out the week, so any night is a good night to head to the Brew Pub!

Wow! What a surprise… My co-worker got held up so I decided to walk back to the hotel in Morgantown. I stumbled upon the Morgantown Brewing Co. and was thoroughly impressed. Beer cheese soup is quite possibly the best I’ve ever had. Catfish tacos solid… Service excellent and mist importantly GREAT beer!

Fantastic beer and food and a great value for the price. We drove a ways to get here and it was totally worth it. I recommend the black and bleu burger.

I have been to Morgantown 5 times for a total of 11 days. I have only been to the Morgantown brewing company. the 1st time we went we got to Morgantown late and were looking for a quick bite. they were open but only had the late night menu available, and I’m glad that’s all they had. we had a few verities of wings and a couple of beers. that is exactly what I’ve had every single day that I have been to Morgantown. I haven’t even been to any other restaurant there, except sheets for the a.m. GREATBEER and THEMOSTKILLERWINGS, the best we’ve ever had.

We were a little early for beer, so we had to wait 15 minutes to drink a cold one. We were a little disappointed with the speed of service, but after it was all over, it averaged out. Chili was good but it didn’t come out hot enough; in temperature or spice. The bread appetizer was awesome and the cheese soup it came with even better! I enjoyed the bourbon barrel stout!

Beer was over priced and definitely not as good of quality of other micro Brew places like this ive been to. Girlfriend said the two she tried tasted like aluminum siding. Two of their featured beers were out on a Saturday night which is a little wonky for a brewery but we heard it was move in weekend for college and there is also a big comic convention in town. The waitresses were super nice but at one point when my girlfriend asked if she could sample one because the Heifewiesen was out, we were told management is pretty stingy with samples and give the staff a hard time. Why not just charge for a shot size if its an issue? Similar places we’ve been will gladly bring a sample tray if your new to their beers. The food that came out was good but nothing to write home about.

My friends and I stopped at Morgantown Brewing Company for dinner on our way down to New River Gorge for a rafting trip. The weather was gorgeous so we sat outside, the only down fall to that was the smoking were not use to people smoking in outdoor seating areas. The food was awesome. We were able to switch out the regular burger for a veggie burger. I got the mushroom swiss with a veggie paddy amazing, it was so delicious and thank god the beer battered fires weren’t a super large portion or I’d be in trouble they were super good. We split a sampler which was only 8 beers not 10 but they adjusted the cost due to the shortage and agreed upon filling our growler with the Brookside Farm Ale Saison. Overall the food was outstanding and the beer was decent but not amazing.

If I were to write this review last year(May 2014), Morgantown Brewing Company would have received 5 stars — solely for the existence of their Nutty Blonde beer. THEBESTBEEREVER. I have told many people about that beer and have looked forward to visiting Morgantown again just to have more of that beer. I was stoked when friends of mine were getting married in Morgantown, WV because I knew that I would go back to the Morgantown Brewing Company to have more of their Nutty Blonde. Upon arriving last night, my boyfriend and I sat at the bar and [attempted] to order the Nutty Blonde — only to find out that it was discontinued! I was so very disappointed. Other than not having the Nutty Blonde, the Morgantown Brewing Company rates according to the following: 10 beer flight(4 Stars): Excellent price and explanation provided for each of the beer samples. The beers overall were pretty good, but it’s is similar and expected from a micro-brewery. Pizza Rolls Appetizer(3 stars): Not bad and uniquely done. They weren’t spectacular, but we definitely polished them off! Service(5 Stars): we sat at the bar and the service we received was AMAZING. Some of the best service I have ever had. SUPER friendly bar tender; she was well versed in all of the beer selections and knew quite a bit of history about Morgantown Brewing Company. Overall, I wish Morgantown Brewing Company would BRINGBACKTHENUTTYBLONDE!!!

This is a big place which doesn’t look like much from the outside or kind of even the inside for that matter. Nice brew system. Divided into smaller spaces which makes it nice. The beer is good. No small batch or cask while I was there but their regular offerings seem solid. The menu is creative and the cooks know what they are doing! Had a cold potato leek soup on the special menu. It was amazing. Done with a smoked garlic scape chimichurri. Who does that? It was fantastic. Lots of other great stuff too.

I wanted to have a sit down dinner at a decent restaurant but the fancy restaurant we checked out was expensive and review said it was over priced so we ended up here. Hubby had the Mediterranean pesto chicken sandwich and I had the Blackened chicken sandwich. Hubby’s sandwich was hot and very good. The waitress talked me into getting mine in a wrap which I thought was not as good as the sandwich. We had fried green tomatoes and onion rings for the side. Not too crazy about them. Hubby is a fan of craft beers so he enjoyed it here. He always get the IPA. I got the special Biery beer. It was good not too heavy. The décor was very dark. I wanted to sit outside but the deck was full of smokers. Overall it was alright here. If I was in town again, I’d probably skip this place and try something else.

Love Brew Pub. Happy hour is amazing. I used to always get the nutty blonde, but sadly they discontinued it so now I get the alpha blonde or small batch for beer. The male bartender at the front bar I can’t remember his name makes the best martinis I’ve ever had. Also, the hot sauce they make is really awesome I always get a side of it with french fries.

Automatically I love a brewery like this that is not a chain and that does not bottle their beer; with the exception of a growler. If you want their beer then you must visit the brewery! When I visited, I had the opportunity to sample nine of their beers. The samples on the flight were the smallest that I have ever experienced, but it was okay because the point was to sample everything that they had on hand and then still have the ability to order a pint or three afterwards of the ones I enjoyed them most. I visited on a Tuesday and their special of the day was a buy one get one free pint special. Morgantown Brewing seems to offer some kind of special deal every day. I really enjoyed all of the beers that I sampled. The IPA was good, but not as good as the plethora of IPAs out there. However, I thought the Alpha Blonde was better than most blondes you can get elsewhere. When a blonde is good then it is very good(like a Leffe), but I have also experienced some bad ones too. Morgantown certainly serves up a great one! The same goes for a hefeweizen an their seasonal one was excellent! Also, I never enjoy a shandy, but this may have been the best one I have ever had. I was surprised to see that their beer cooler housed Bud Light. I hope that is only there as a decoy so if someone orders one then they know who to toss out. I didn’t experience the service from the perspective of being waited on by a waitress at a table as I sat at the bar, but my bartender provided terrific service; and she was easy on the eyes too. At a brewery, the beers are the primary attraction, but this brewery offers many other wonderful options. Do not miss the pretzel and its scrumptious cheese dipping sauce. It was fantastic! They also offered a special food menu with many unique dishes. The brewery presents itself as such by showcasing its enormous brew tanks behind glass alongside many of the indoor tables. There is also a great outside deck. And what is a beer establishment without beer games like foosball and darts? Meet up as SFLHops to the next beer event at

MBC is hands-down my favorite bar/pub in Morgantown. All the bartenders I’ve met are friendly and awesome and are great with making drink recommendations for the inexperienced and/or adventurous. I turned 21 not too long ago and have been trying new things, and the bartenders are always able to help me try something different and delicious. I’ve enjoyed every meal I’ve had here: from burgers to wings, from pepperoni rolls to nachos, this place makes great food and gives you large portions! I loved the fried green tomatoes and their french fries are the bomb diggity. My favorite part of the Brew Pub is the outdoor seating on the back deck, especially during this time of year! Love MBC and will always head back for more fantastic food and fun times!

A perfect local hangout spot. It’s a great place to bring friends from out-of-town, meet up with a bunch of townies, or to bring your parents who are visiting. The brewpub is approachable, affordable, relaxed, and always a good time. It manages to be more mature than most Morgantown, while still having a relaxed attitude and affordable prices. I haven’t had a ton of items in regards to food, but it’s usually pretty good. The highlight is really the beer. While most of their mainline beers feel very much like«brewpub beer»(styles and flavors you get at any brewpub, no matter where you at), occasionally a seasonal will really rise above the fold. They have a White IPA I’m particular fond of. Some quick tips: the patio outside is awesome, especially during the warm summer months(if it’s not too muggy!), the 2 for 1 Tuesday special is not to be missed, and check out for their regular entertainment on their website. Honestly, I love the brew pub. The only reason I dinged a star off is their cocktails are generally pretty terrible. I’ve ordered a vodka gimlet, old fashion, and a whiskey sour, all were overly sweet and left me wanting a really good cocktail bar. Still, I’m a beer man at heart, so it’s not too disappointing. Would like to see them host guest taps from other breweries in the area, though. Not sure if the managers/owners read Unilocal, but here’s a few suggestions to improve the experience: — More visible menus /kitchen times. I still never know when the kitchen closes. A late night menu would be awesome. They might even have one, I’ve just never seen a menu or times anywhere. Would definitely order more snacks whilst hanging out if it were better advertised. — More standing bars around the edges. Just somewhere to put a drink down and talk whilst it’s busy. — Some tasteful outdoor heating would be amazing during the frigid cold months. These are incredibly popular in big city bars, and I think would be an awesome touch to an otherwise pretty great outdoor patio. — Bring on some guest taps! Would love to see some more, non-MBC taps

Not a very busy restaurant, it’s dark, and all of the action seems to be in the back room by the patio. Bartender was extremely friendly and we really enjoyed talking with her. They had $ 10 pitcher specials all day long on Mondays. The curry mussels were delicious. A bit spicy but had just the right kick. Came with pita bread which was perfect for dipping in the curry. Big portion too. I ordered the Mediterranean sandwich(as a wrap) and it was delicious. Lots of flavor in that little thing and the fires were crispy. My co-worker ordered a chicken sub with onion rings and had no complaints.

While I stand by my initial disappointment with the burgers and entrée options, I had a really great experience on a Friday night at the Brewpub. Not only does the Brewpub tend to draw a responsible and considerably less fratty crowd, their late night menu is actually remarkable. We ordered two flights for 4 guys, and each of us ordered a dessert. The bourbon poundcake, the apple pie, and the Mississippi Mud chocolate cake were equally impressive. The other significant improvement to my visit this time around was the staff. Even though they were very busy, they were very kind and patient. We took some time trying to select what beers we wanted, finally settling on the flights. The bartenders, though few and far between, moved quickly and efficiently among customers and tables. The beers are on the whole, hoppy. But if you’re into darker drafts, the Coal City is very full-bodied, with a smooth, smokey flavor. If you’re goal is to get hammered and have some kind of wild night on the town, I’m not sure the Morgantown Brewpub is the place for you(maybe the first stop on your bar crawl, I guess). Overall, however, it’s a fun but classier environment — by Morgantown standards. I’d have no hesitation coming here with with friends or a priest, both of which I’ve done as a matter of fact.
