Was here today for a baby shower. The staff was very accommodating and the chef/owner even came out and spoke to people in our group. From apps to dessert, the food was delicious. I tried several kinds of flat breads — all very satisfying. The salad was a larger portion than most restaurants give and featured an interesting, tangy dressing. For my entrée, I had chicken marsala(also delicious). The desserts were all stupendous. We had choice of flourless chocolate cake, toffee pudding, or crème brûlée. I’d definitely come here again, either to eat in or get take out. Great local gem!

This restaurant is a gem! It’s Byob and the food is so fresh and amazing! The only problem I would say is that the service could be better. However, the food made up for it so it didn’t bother me too much. The chef came and greeted each table. You can really see the quality he puts into his dishes. The prices are so reasonable ! Can’t wait to go back.

We went here Saturday for my nephew’s pick on his birthday dinner. We started with Calamari, and the table ordered a buffalo chicken flatbread pizza, flatbread with only cheese, a personal cheese pizza, fried mac & cheese bites, a chicken panini, and the lobster & crab ravioli special. First, let me just say — if you’re going to dine in on a Saturday, make sure you make a reservation. It gets packed rather quickly, and for good reason. The calamari was great. I’m so used to pizzeria standard calamari and this isn’t it. My little one really enjoyed the fries that came with her mac & cheese. She didn’t like the bites, but she never likes mac & cheese so I have no clue why she wanted it. What’s important is that I liked them. She killed the fries, because they were delicious. The whole table tried to steal a few more after she gave each of us a taste. She wasn’t letting that happen. The pizzas were good, of course, that’s why my nephew picked it. My mom really enjoyed her panini and she can be rather picky at times. I was able to enjoy the leftovers for lunch the next day. It was great after being reheated. I can only imagine if was fresh. I ordered the lobster & crab ravioli. There were visible chunks of each throughout. I ordered it with a Chardonnay sauce because I was worried about my tomato/cream reaction and it was still really, really good. The next time I order it, I’ll definitely watch my diet and order it with a cream sauce because I’m salivating at the thought of it right now. The raviolis were cooked perfectly. They weren’t soft, soggy messes and they were incredible. The value was great — our check surprised me and I couldn’t be happier. The only downside was how the food came out. The flat breads and the personal pizza came out quite a bit after the entrees did. I don’t mind for two reasons: 1. I had my food, 2. the food is so great it’s worth waiting for. Honestly though, they were very busy and I don’t think that’s the norm. I think it was a fluke. I can’t wait to go back.

Creative entrees, good service, and most importantly, very tasty. As an additional bonus, the price of everything is very fair. Will continue going there for lunch, dinner and take-out

I love the small little restaurant, my girlfriend found it on Unilocal and we had lunch there, since that day I’ve been there several times. My husband pretty much likes everything on the menu! We are actually doing a food tasting there next month and I’m really looking forward to it. The salads are amazing, the pizza great and the hot meals are just delicious. The chef always surprises and out does himself with his meals!

I’ve been on a Unilocal hiatus but had to come out of retirement to leave this review. The food and value was excellent. The chef was personable and friendly and you could tell he really enjoyed what he does. Great value. Will definitely go back and recommend.

Wow, what a great place! This is not your average pizza joint. The chef is amazing! He personally recommended dishes, then sent out sweet potato risotto cakes in a marinara sauce and a veggie medley to start us off. We had a delicious pasta carbonara, pork medallions with fruit compote, a glazed peach salad and a vegan dish put together especially for our daughter. We were all very happy with the meal, the attentive service and our conversation with Durant, the chef. Wish I could give 6 stars!

Was looking for a place to have a lunch meeting, and found this place. The food is fantastic here, the owner Dorant is super friendly and a great chef. I highly recommend this place.

My new favorite place when in Morris Plains/Parsippany. The menu and specials make decision difficult but it doesn’t matter — the food is made with love and caring, all overseen by the wonderful head chef Dorant. The lemon chicken soup was delicious — just enough lemon and plenty of vegetables and chicken. The Teriyaki Chicken salad is perfect — Chef Dorant respects the salad greens — all of you who have endured awful salads know what I mean. I will be returning every time I work in Morris Plains, which I now hope is often!

This is such a quaint little mom and pop place and quite delicious! We heard about Wild Basil Café a short while ago and have had dinner there once and lunch there as well. Both times were EXCELLENT. The sauces are out of this world. We haven’t tried the pizza but I will be ordering from there for an upcoming event. The chef is very helpful and kind. He definitely puts a lot of heart and hard work into this restaurant. And if you like wine, bring your favorite bottle since it’s a BYOB. The atmosphere is casual which is also very nice. I highly recommend!

Ordered the risotto with shrimp and spinach. Was delicious! Came with zucchini on the side. I love zucchini so would have liked more with my meal. Just a warning that the portion was HUGE. I knocked off one star because there wasn’t a lot of shrimp and the shrimp stop had the tails on it. If I ordered again I’d ask for the tails to be off, and more shrimp.

Came here on a whim. We were getting tired of the same old restaurants and were looking for a place that was reasonably priced but had some creative meals. We had a wonderful meal of pear flatbread and peach salad. Service was great and owner came out to great us. Definitely a place we will come back to and a nice change from the standard Italian fare in the area.

We got the Fig, Prosciutto & Goat Cheese Flatbread, the Pear & Blue Cheese Flatbread and the Fried Calamari and they were all Amazing! Chef Dorant greeted us when we picked up our food, he was nixe and sweet and thabjed us for coming in. He also gave us a few slices of the pepperoni pizza to try since it was our first time there. Such a nice guy and great food, def. Can’t wait to go back and try the dinner menu!

After reading rave reviews here and a recommendation from a close friend, I took my friend who was traveling from abroad for dinner Thursday night. The restaurant is tiny; we passed right by it the first time. The space is casual and we were seated right away as most of the tables were empty. They have an extensive menu, and both of us being vegetarians, decided to try the Quinoa burger. Except that it wasn’t available. So my friend opted for a Margarita pizza and I went with a veggie wrap. The order took ages to fill and there were only two other tables occupied. The meal was alright; nothing to write home about. I don’t know if they were having an off night or if this is the usual. It was disappointing but I might give them another shot.

Great selection of flat breads, nothing is run of the mill. All of the salads are interesting, all creative and different. There was an issue with one of our entrée salads and instead of our server apologizing for the mistake, chef dorant came out and addressed the issue which clearly showed us he cares. Good recovery as the refire was perfectly cooked.

I recently visited Wild Basil Café for the tasting menu. It was outrageously delicious! The quality of food was truly fantastic for the price — it was excellent value. The venue is small and there are not huge number of tables and seating available, but it is a comfortable. The servers were friendly and efficient.

We got 2 flatbreads, the short rib & shrimp, and both were spot on. We also ordered the meatball parm hero. The meatball was very flavorful. We’ll be going back for sure.

I’m almost afraid to write this review because I don’t want getting a reservation here difficult in the future. But make it a point to dine at this restaurant once, and you’re sure to return. The food is outstanding. The Chef is amazing. He prepares each dish with creativity, style, and with a true love for the culinary arts. He really is that good! The place is not fancy, but the great food together with the attentive servers makes this a real winner. It’s also a BYO so that’s yet another advantage of dining at Wild Basil. David W
