Really great patty melt! Quick and friendly service. The bartender was very nice and gave me some free refills on my Sprite, but, shhh! Only been here once on a visit from out of town but would be back if I found myself in Morrison again!

I’ve been back a total of five times. The last two times it’s because I fell in love with their Lauren’s French toast. It’s equivalent to about four pieces of toast triangled and between them a very simple cream cheese and cherries. Man I tell you. I can’t stop talking about it. Now my visiting friends are now a fan of this amazing French toast too. Very simple in preparation but the end result is so pleasing to my tastebuds. I’ve had really expensive French toast plated beautifully but non can beat Lauren’s French toast. You can’t beat the price either of a whole order for $ 8.99 with a side of bacon or a half order of $ 6.99. I am a big fan of RRG!

Monte Cristo sandwiches are hard to find, but they have a yummy one! Good service and good food, for a bar menu!

Upon first walking in Red Rocks Grill looks like a bar strictly to watch football and eat bar food. But sit down, settle in and take a look at their menu for it’s filled with a variety of delicious food offerings including the most delicious Lauren’s French Toast. Honestly the best french toast I’ve ever had. Having been there twice in a week, I can say that the veggie omelette, Denver omelette and Mexican potato skins are all legitimate items to order. The walls are filled with animal heads and the seating and tables are very rustic. Pros: Delicious breakfast and lunch food and good friendly service in a cute small strip of Morrison Cons: Parking looks like it can be difficult on weekends. Bottom line: The best French Toast I’ve ever had

For the hundreds of times I’ve been here, I am truly shocked I’ve not written a review. Time to change that, as the friends from out of town that I lunched with yesterday, were literally worshiping my plate.(Needless to say, I’ve mastered the menu.) Let me start by saying, if I were relying solely on Unilocal to decide whether or not to try this place, I would be truly concerned about the range of ratings and comments. Specifically, I was there yesterday(giving a solid 4 rating if it was my ONLY time there) and there is at least one other rating from the same day that is a 1 — with nothing but negative feedback.(I almost feel like I need to apologize to the other Unilocaler because my experience was so positive!) This place is a little-gem-hole-in-the-wall-watering-hole-lodgy-feeling-mountain-town-«beer-and-grub-hut.» I’ll write this review according to time of day, just for something a little different! Breakfast — get here, fast, and early; hungry and parched. The portions are massive, well worth the price, HOT, HOT, HOT, fast(in fact, almost too fast if you want to get through some of your mimosa or Bloody Mary beforehand). There is not one thing on the breakfast menu that isn’t outstanding. Paralyzing outstanding — and if you can make a happy plate, high-five yourself and roll on home. Get something with the gravy. It’s just nasty good — so good, it should probably have defribulator paddles as a «not heart healthy» icon on the menu. Go big or go home — breakfast IS the most important meal of the day. On weekends during mid-morning, you are likely going to have to wait. My advice, wait it out. It’s worth it. The large drinks are served in a bucket. If you can lift it with one hand, skip the work out. If you drink it to the bottom, skip the work out — you’ll injure yourself. Lunch — I don’t care if you are in rabbit mode and order a salad, or in the mood for Mexican, or craving a burger — or(my absolute forever and consistent go to item) wanting to indulge in a Monte Cristo — lunch is great.(Same as the dinner menu, so watch for more on that next.) Again, portions are BIG. Even when I show hungry, I leave with a box. If you have checked out my other reviews, you know I am a burger junky. This is not my favorite burger, but it is good. A little on the drier side, but a wide range of toppings are available. The green chili is really good — flavorful with just the right amount of heat. Sweet potato fries are outstanding, and yesterday, I had the soup(potato-cheese) for my side, and wanted to dive into the bowl. Most importantly,(wait for it…), it was served HOT, with crackers, AND a soup spoon. Woo hoo!!! One other comment, Diet Pepsi(ick) not Diet Coke. The iced tea is always good, and they always have the Co2 set well on their soda-taps.(I hate soda that isn’t bubbly — crazy, I know.) Dinner — Whether early or late, see lunch(and breakfast) regarding portions, and quality. The menu seriously has something for every craving. If you can’t decide, try the fajitas. Big enough for two, and you’ll still take something home. Served sizzling hot, and always ample«stuff» besides or in addition to the delicious meat. Everything else is good — but if you’re looking for a standout, fajitas are it. It’s busy on concert nights, and warmer weekends. It’s an awesome«snowy hideaway» too — Beer, beer, beer, beer and then beer, Good selection, cold, ample, reasonably priced. What more do you want? Décor — lodgy, with entertaining animal heads and appropriate holiday decorations. The place is always clean — not sterile, and clean. The bathrooms suck. Just suck.(Well, the ladies room…) No need to sugar coat it, or try to disguise it. Drink enough beer — and it doesn’t matter. If you aren’t drinking beer, that’s okay, just don’t expect the Brown Palace. You are going to freeze your cheeks in the cooler seasons on the toilet, and it’s small, with curtain-wanna-be type«doors» to the two stalls. Who cares? It beats baring your butt in the woods, and nice bathrooms would be super out of place! Flushing toilets, running water to wash your hands, paper towel, a wastebasket. Boom — bathrooms. There have been a few times we have had marginal service, but most often, it is incredibly attentive and customer service oriented. We will regularly sit at the bar if possible, and all of the frequent«locals» are very friendly, and don’t make newcomers feel like outsiders. We have sat in the way back too, and find it equally welcoming for entirely different reasons. I live in and love Morrison, and regularly make this a go to place for just us, or when we have friends or family in town. Give it a shot!

Second place we walked out of in Morrison because we didn’t get served. Sat down, waited for a server, and after 10 minutes, no one even acknowledged us. And when I looked around, a saw a lot of tables that looked like they were in the same situation. Also, it smelled bad. So we left.

Great décor, friendly staff, very clean and great food(I went for breakfast). The green chili is made in-house and is recommended(I asked for a 2 oz. side)

We enjoyed everything. We had mexican. Almost everything is homemade. The food taste wonderful. The margaritas were almost too good. Our waitress made the experience even better.

Food and Server was very good. Bloody Mary was incredible! Female(I assume the owner) was a bit over the top and in your face when all we really wanted was a nice relaxing meal. Overall though, we liked it a lot and will definitely go back.

I’m not confident the drinks we ordered were accurate, we never got our appetizer, my melt came on the wrong bread, ranch dressing was watery, service slow & inattentive. May be an okay place to stop for a drink if you sit at the bar to ensure you get what you order.

Always a favorite when in Morrison. There’s not a lot to choose from in this town, but the beer is cold and the food is solid. The green chili cheese fries are a must and can be a meal they are so big. Cheesy with chunks of pork in the chili, they are just good. Had the chicken taco salad and it was enough for four people. It was fine. Not great, but not bad. Hubs had the Monte Cristo. That was a great leftover snack after our Red Rocks concert.

Cute place, decent service, horrible food. Came out way too quick to be good and all of it looked like mass produced crap. Won’t return.

Best breakfast out in a long time! Service was great, even with a full house. I had the traditional breakfast with a chili relleno. So, so delicious! The hashbrowns were perfectly golden with the right ratio of crunch. Good atmosphere with a mix of locals and red rocks tourists. We will be back.

The worst… Retarded service. Four servers, a bus boy and a host… and only like ten tables with customers. Took over an hour. We left. Still no food. Other tables made same complaints.. Everyone in Restaurant was complaining. Someone else told me the waited 2 hours. And the servers never came by to check on you or apologize.

After a long day at Bandimere, I was starving for some great Mexican food. Typically, we would go to Morrison Inn, but we had heard lately that they have gone down hill. So, we walked over to Red Rocks Grill. They are always consistently good and have great service. This occasion was no different. The waitress was on everything. She was funny and helpful all at the same time. I got 4 crunchy beef tacos and Brian got one of the combos because he was being indecisive. Great tacos! The only complaint I have it the pre made shells. They should try making their own so that they are fresh. No frills on the looks, but taste make up for the presentation, or lack there of.

Only go here in a pinch. I got the sampler and the quesadillas were just a greasy piece of cheddar melted poorly in a tortilla. The chicken strips were extremely hard. The potato skins were just dry brown on top potato halves with the same greasy cheddar as the quesadilla and a sprinkle of bacon… Oh and some lady(who I’m pretty sure is affiliated with the place because she told us to seat ourselves) was taking her chihuahua around the restaurant and decided to bring him to our table to look at our chips and salsa with him. Wtf. I only gave it 2 stars because I haven’t gotten food poisoning… Yet.

This turned out to be the perfect spot to end a day of hiking and exploring outside of Morrison. The wood paneled walls… not to mention the mounted heads with pets names on the walls, adds to the atmosphere. It was a warm and welcoming spot… except maybe for PETA people. The menu is simple, but the food is tasty. We went for the Mexican options, and took an extra quart of salsa home with us, it was that good!

Red Rocks Grill is fantastic. My boyfriend and I came here yesterday after a long hike. I remembered they had a patio and requested we sit out there. For some reason they had these shade things over the patio which made it much to cold for this time of year. But we liked that we had the place to ourselves so we stuck it out. I had a margarita which was delicious, just the right amount of bite. My guy had a fat tire. I wish I remembered our servers name because she really deserves credit where credit is due, it was something like Siera or Sahara or something. She was so funny, friendly, and helpful. They have a lot of young looking people working here, I would say probably high school. They all do a great job. We thought getting the #5(beef & bean burrito, tamale, and chili relleno, $ 12ish) and a half sized order of nachos would be the perfect amount of heavy Mexican food after an 8 mile hike but we were struggling half way through and definitely not able to finish it between the two of us. 2 people 2 beers 2 margaritas half order of nachos & #5 came to around $ 45 before tip. Great value. Everything was very flavorful and awesome. Totally coming back here next time we do a hike in Morrison, although the competition next door and across the street are pretty tempting to check out.

Yep, 3.5 stars is about what Red Rocks Grill should have. The food is pretty normal and the service is slightly above average, friendly and attentive. I tried the Combo #3, but traded my dad a ½ triangle of his Monte Cristo for the Chile Relleno because I never like them. This is your pretty standard Americanish Mexican food. The beans in the burrito were tasty and everything was engulfed with cheese. I’m not much of a cheese person, so I just moved it to the side, no problem. The guacamole tostada was strange. The guacamole was a blended, very smooth paste. I guess that freaked me out that it was store bought or frozen and thawed, so I kind of stayed away from it. The Monte Cristo is one hefty sandwich and the ½ triangle was about all I could eat, but if you’re into that kind of sandwich, I think you’ll love it. Especially with the jam. My dad’s friends both ordered salads and when they say salad, this is not some frou frou healthy salad. These salads were HUGE, covered in meat and cheese for only $ 8.99, so it was a very good value. The décor is pretty awesome if you’re okay with stuffed dead animals. They even have a jackalope named Spencer. Also, I didn’t use the restroom here, but I was told that there is just a curtain that separates the stall, so if you’re potty shy, maybe this isn’t the place for you.

After a four mile hike at Maxwell Falls my Mom and I were in desperate nourishment mode. As we were passing through Morrison we found Red Rocks Grill along the main drag and parked in the parking lot in the back alley(convenient for customers of the small strip of businesses). We quickly saw this place was a favorite of the locals, always a good sign. The menu offers classic American fare with some Tex-Mex classics mixed in as well. The usual items, burgers, salads, fried appetizers, and a few more. My Mom and I opted for the Chicken Fajitas for two. It fit our scenario perfectly. It was hot and filling and sounded yummy. The food took at least 30+ minutes to arrive and our tummies were growling so loud I was sure the noise was making the baby cry that I was hearing in the back. Finally our Fajitas arrived and boy oh boy was this a gargantuan portion, these Fajitas could easily feed three or four, not just two people. The grilled chicken, onions, and green peppers were sizzling hot and piled high. The side of iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, guacamole(it was really just blended avocado), and spicy salsa was a good accompaniment to the sizzling plate of protein and veggies. We opted for flour tortillas but corn tortillas were also an option. We devoured two fajita wraps a piece and slowly nibbled on some of the remaining chicken and veggies. It was exactly what we were looking for, warm and filling and we were both equally pleased with our lunch. I wouldn’t expect anything that blows my mind here but fresh food and huge portions seem to be consistent here. Thanks for the nourishment Red Rocks Grill.
