Wow the people of Morristown who claimed to eat good food at this place really need to go see a doctor because I think they’re suffering from a tumor in their brains. Seriously, you guys need to get that checked out. There’s something wrong with connection between your taste buds and your brain. I haven’t had food this bland since my days in high school. I had ordered general Tso’s chicken, Thai basil, Taiwanese fried sausage rice and pan fried rib dumplings. Unfortunately, the shrimp was probably the only authentic part of China because they’re probably harvested from the cesspool of poop infested water from the shrimp farms. Honestly, the biggest fool is me for ordering so much and believing the people around this place who think they understand and know good food. Is it simply because it’s «organic» you people think it’s delicious, the same folks who blindly follow food trends. Pathetic. So furious at this point. Writing in fragmented sentences.

Meh. We got this as takeout. I thought my bf was ordering from a typical American Chinese place, so when we got this I was surprised. Maybe I was just craving shitty American Chinese food, but this definitely didn’t hit the spot. It was pretty bland and flavorless. What’s the point of having organic, healthier food if you can’t make it taste good? The portions are big and you get a lot with what you order, so if you’re really hungry and don’t care that it’s bland I’d get it. We got: * General Tso’s chicken — meh * Thai basil shrimp * Taiwanese sausage fried rice — FFS blandest fried rice I’ve had.

My wife and I have almost been weekly patrons of Mr. Chung’s since they first opened. This place is not your average Chinese. It’s a very unique twist of Chinese fusion. It’s also much healthier than normal Chinese food. Our favorites are the pumpkin soup, chicken lo mein, fired rice and mango chicken. But everything we have tried is amazing. Family and friends who we have brought all rave about it. The delivery is also a great option. They are quick and always so polite. They even use Square to except credit cards for delivery right at your door step. This is the best Chinese in morristown by far!

Came for lunch, it was dead on a Friday. And that’s just how I felt when I left this joint. I got really ill after eating here. Not sure what the rave about this place is. The ambience is nice, but the food… not so much. My silverware and cups were really dirty. Asked for clean ones, still dirty. Finally I just cleaned them myself. The food was overly salty. Nothing special about any of the items we were recommended. The fried rice isn’t really fried like you would normally imagine it. The dumplings were kind of tasty but still, salty. The price are way to high. I could’ve had better Chinese at my take-out local spot.

I never write reviews and this place finally got me off my tail to do one. It’s obvious that Mr. Chung’s is an old school Chinese family with a modern view and I’m glad this little jewel is part of my life. I have been eating in Morristown for 15 years and can say without a shred of doubt that for two people, under $ 50 for an app and two entrees, this is pound for pound the best restaurant in its price class in Morristown. Awesome Flavor, portions are huge, I swear the takeout bag was 15 pounds. Pork Baos were the BOMB, I got the Thai Basil and my wife had Panang Curry. Flavor everywhere. I love how they took the rice and worked beets into it. It doesn’t add more than just a hint of sweetness which is nice, but the red color was what I really appreciated. They take the extra step here to be innovative and different and I hope they stay in business a long time. Everything else in this town is the same portion controlled, pseudo-artisan stuff run by one of the same three major restaurant conglomerates. Go here. You will be glad you did.

We were here for an Elite Event and returned recently. We were disappointed both times. The food is lackluster. Flavorless. I see where they are trying to go with it but it didn’t work for my wife and I. The staff is very nice and friendly but it doesn’t make up for the sub par food. The general tso’s was ok… I hate to say I have had better at a local Chinese restaurant. Spicy tamarind ribs were eh. We really wanted to like this place.

Great neighborhood Asian! What a nice surprise to stop in for lunch and enjoy fresh, nicely prepared food. The server was also sweet and helpful. Try the Thai Basil and the Spare Rib Dumplings!

It wasn’t good. We did take out. It was cold and lacked flavor. I feel really bad giving 1 star because I really wanted to like this place. The staff was super nice but the food just wasn’t good. We order about 10 different things. I felt like we ordered too much food. We went from one thing to the next enjoying nothing & it was expensive. There was no salty, sweet, tangy, none of it… flat. Expensive is okay when it’s worth it. I’m sorry Mr. Chung. Maybe it was just an off night.

I give this place six months before it closes. I do not know how it has stayed in business for so long honestly. The food is so overpriced for the quality. There are plenty of Chinese food places nearby that are cheaper and taste a whole lot better so don’t waste your money or time here. I got shrimp and chicken Pad Thai, and my shrimp was not cooked thoroughly. I am not a professional chef, but I know when shrimp is cooked and this was obviously not cooked. It was a bit clear still and had a slimy texture. Very confused as to the high ratings this place has received? Perhaps it has gone downhill since it has opened? Nonetheless, when I visited about two weeks ago I was very very underwhelmed. I also saw some creature(mouse or large bug?) scurry across the floor before I left, which was a nice like night-cap after the undercooked shrimp. I do not want to make assumptions that it was in fact one or the other, but I did see a dark [something] quickly move across the floor. Needless to say, it shouldn’t have been there and neither will I in the future. Confused and disappointed.

Really good Chinese. Sesame chicken is different in a good way, not overly breaded, more sautéed. Soups on menu were very good, ordered off menu soup and didn’t care for taste. Nice décor, complementary hot tea and friendly servers.

Lunch here was very disappointing. The restaurant itself was well decorated and spacious but the food was overpriced and sub par. I got a recommended chicken curry dish that was ok at best. It was cool that they used organic chicken so that may have accounted for the +$ 20 entrees. I’m also used to much better Asian restaurants in Virginia so all the entrees seemed very average for me. Nothing was special about the meal. I did get the fried cheesecake for dessert and that tasted interesting.

Currently sitting inn Mr. Chung’s, working on my 2nd visit. BBQ spare ribs were a bit chewy sadly, and not fall off the bone tender as I had hoped. Sauce had slight sweetness to it, yet was rich in hue, garnished nicely with sesame seeds, and was probably the saving grace for this appetizer. Pad Thai Chicken dish is huge. Definitely enough for two to share. Solid portion of nicely cooked chicken, and over all, a good flavor. Had NO heat though, or hardly any remarkable seasoning that I could think of. So, I imagine this falls into the run of the mill Pad Thai. Service was excellent the first time I dined here. This time? Good. Place had two other tables(6 customers in total), but a few things could have used improvement. Like approaching me several minutes after the dinner was brought, to see how everything was so far, if I needed anything, etc. Having to flag down a server after 10 minutes when a restaurant is empty? Not good. However, The big issue for me? It just happened 2 minutes ago. My server wrapped my unfinished pad Thai chicken, and brought to the table with the check, never asking if I wanted dessert or coffee. Please note that dessert is the most important part of dining. Oh well, I asked anyway and the three options they had, did not sound very exciting. nonetheless, I knocked a star off for some of the reasons mentioned. a place to check out, but maybe not the one to call a regular.

We had so much fun eating at this restaurant. Everything on the menu is delicious. They prepare organic Chinese food that is MSG free. WOOHOO!!! The wait staff is very accommodating and friendly. The best egg rolls I ever tasted: Pumpkin chicken… The cheesecake egg rolls for desert are simply divine!

Just checked in very quickly for a dinner during a business trip. Saw the menu online before coming in and it seemed interesting. I had the duck noodle soup, the Kung pao calamari, and the Chinese Bruschetta. Unfortunately the duck was deep fried and on a separate plate from the soup. The calamari were deep fried as well but good after all, the Kung pao sauce was tasty. The Chinese Bruschetta was okayish, did not like it much. However it seems they have interesting things on the menu, I will come back to check them out and write another review.

This is a really solid Chinese/fusion place. I’ve tried take out and eat in at this point. 4 stars because it’s a bit pricey, however, I decided to try the take out first because they use organic meats and vegetables which I haven’t really ever seen noted at a Chinese restaurant. That makes me feel good about the food I am eating. I ordered Thai Basil chicken and the portion size was huge and delivery was faster than projected. Bonus points for letting me order on Unilocal!Enjoyed the Tom Yum soup as well, though this was my first time trying that type of soup, I thought the flavor a were excellent and the shrimp in the soup was definitely fresh. Brought the husband to eat in last Friday. BYOB. We started with the Asian Dumplings which were very good and shrimp variations. Hubs enjoyed his Mango Chicken and decided to try the General Tso’s chicken which isn’t really my go to dish, but so many raved about it I had to try it. Light(who can say that about Gen Tso’s?!) and a bit spicy. It was delicious. Too full for dessert, so no comments there. Bottom line: this is way better Chinese than your local take out and a nicer setting.

I can only speak for take out and delivery for this place. I have to say this is the best Chinese take out I’ve ever had if you think of American Chinese takeout. The menu is filled with many Asian style dishes that are cooked healthier, with more vegetables options and everything is cooked in a lighter level of grease and thick soy products. I got the general tsos chicken entrée the first time and thought they might have messed up my order since it looked nothing like what I usually get. The sauce was much lighter, the chicken pieces were not stuck together with fried dough and sugary sauce but it actually tasted like general tsos. Yum yum and I felt like I was actually eating healthy. Most recently I order the emperor appetizer. It was amazing. You can choose between meats, I went with chicken. It’s an Asian style taco with sweet fluffy bun replacing a tortilla. Just amazingly delicious. I would highly recommend this dish and this place if your looking for Chinese food with a healthy twist.

I’ve been here a few times as it’s right across from my office. Chinese food is one of my favorite cuisines, and while Mr. Chung’s is definitely not the best Chinese food I’ve ever had, but it is pretty good. I’ve had the sesame chicken and the lo mein. Pros: — The sesame chicken was quite good. It’s a little different than what I have experienced at a lot of Chinese restaurants, but in a good way. The chicken has less in the way of breading, but it has a really great flavor. Also, the quality of the chicken itself is quite good. — The lo mein also has a really great flavor, but it could be slightly less greasy. — They usually have a really quick turnaround. I’ve never experienced a long wait. Cons: — The white rice that comes with the sesame chicken(and other entrees) is excessively soggy/mushy. I often order plain white rice with my Chinese food, but the texture of the rice here makes it rather inedible. — The prices are pretty high. I’ve started to avoid going here because I can’t justify spending $ 15+ on one take out meal.

We found this place while we were looking for some decent place to dine after 10pm. They have a family booth which is ideal for a small group. The place is certainly welcoming & appealing, food was served hot and on time. The quality was good, the price however was few bucks more than the average. We ordered the Thai basil, pad Thai, Kung pao sauce & general tsao chicken. The presentation was really good, the preparation was a bit oily. Don’t ask for the free desert that Unilocal app prompted, that was a disaster as the waitress prompted us to pick some low cost alternative.

I was desperately trying to find a place in M’town that had panang chicken and Mr. Chung’s served it. We ventured here in search of this delicious Thai meal. The service was great which is a rarity in the M’town area. I did not care for the food, however my husband did. First off, the dumplings for an app had a certain smell that was unappetizing to me. He liked them. The panang chicken was a version of the traditional Thai meal and I am still left in search of a Thai place closer than Bridgewater. Finally, for the love of traditional food, just serve white rice. The ambiance is neat and definitely not overcrowded.

What’s multigrain rice? That’s how our waitress described Mr. Chung’s rice, it looked like a mix of white, brown and wild, and I liked it. But on a quiet Sunday evening our food arrived warm rather than hot, and the flavors were forgettable where the menu promised hot and spicy. Plus it’s a tad spendy at about twenty bucks for an entrée, and service was so slow that we noticed the wait for our food. I had to go with 2 stars because it just was not a-ok for us. Asian contemporary here means Chinese with duck, a few stir-fries and a lot of General Tso; also Japanese(tempura), Thai(basil chicken) and Korean(bbq steak); but absolutely no sushi nor rolls. Yeah there’s wonton soup but they’re called tortellini lol. And this has gotta be the only place I’ve ever seen a soup sampler! No chopsticks on the table, none offered either. Let me say nice things about what I can: the room was quiet and perfect for adult conversation, piano music in the background. Elegant interior with red walls & cloth napkins, low lighting. Our friendly server fetched answers to all of our questions(maybe she shoulda known the menu better). Our water glasses were never, every empty. And I liked the fish tanks. So, the apps we tried: Edamame were served with a wedge of lime, basic steamed little beans. An appetizer of rock shrimp listed«Hot & Spicy» arrived as lukewarm sweet-sauced thickly-breaded deep-fried large shrimps on a bed of crispy rice noodles — zero heat, little flavor, ouch this was a bomb instead of a flavor bomb. A seaweed salad was a generous portion with some strips of mango, mild dressing, this was certainly a-ok. Warning the $ 7 soup portion is HUGE, basically a meal. We ordered the pumpkin with corn & shrimp, not quite hot and very very mild — either soothing or bland depending on your bias lol. Number one college student was a bit stunned by the size, ate half and took the rest. Entrees: Hawaiian mahi-mahi was a generous chunk of fish with a side of stir-fried veggies, the fish a tad overdone, the sauce promised as black-bean truffle, coulda been great, was just meh-brown($ 17). Noble sea treasures is served in an aluminum foil swan, a collection of little scallops, shrimp and pieces of squid; the sauce was quite sweet and not the slightest bit interesting($ 20). Finally a dish of veg tempura was served a few too many minutes out of the deep-frier so they were not hot enough, not crispy enough($ 12). Vegetarian rating: 4 stars for many choices, start with a base of mixed seasonal veggies and organic black tofu, then add your choice of sauce: kung pao, general tso, penang curry, thai basil and so on. Alternately get fried rice or lo mein. We were in no particular hurry but with only half a dozen tables occupied in a room of 30+ tables, I thought the kitchen should be able to handle it. But not only did we wait a long time, most of our food arrived not-quite-hot as mentioned above. Maybe it sat a while waiting to come out; timing issues? They use Square & iPads to process credit cards, so your bottom-line receipt goes by email. I’m with fellow Unilocaler Arshi K., color me quite baffled about the 5-star reviews disclaiming ‘best chinese ever’ & ‘absolute gem’ bcos that sure wasn’t our experience.
