A true taste of real Jamaican country cooking… great authentic taste… had the goat and oxtails combo… went back for some jerk chicken the following day… brought two containers back to Savannah… :)))))

One of the unfortunate things about being on vacation is that you generally have to eat out often. Maybe even for every meal, since pulling items out of the minibar can result in a massive bill upon checking out of your hotel. Luckily there are grocery stores such as Lowes. Not only can you pick up staples such as bread, peanut butter and jelly for sandwiches, but you can have them make a fresh deli sandwich for you(sure, there is Subway, but would it be the same?). By browsing the deli section while you are there, you can score cheese trays, complete with cutting board and knife. In North Carolina, at least — on certain days and times, anyway — you can even pick up a bottle of wine to go with that cheese. Make sure you take a gander at the bakery, just across the way from the deli, too. You probably can only last a few days on these areas while on vacation — perhaps more if you throw in the alcohol — but it is definitely a nice aspect of a grocery store, one that you may not be able to find anywhere else. I am not saying that Lowes is the only one that does this, though in Mount Airy, it might be the case — they just happen to be the one that we use often at home, and the one we stopped at while on our vacation!
