Today I had a calzone that I loved, and look forward to the left overs before it hits the fridge… ya, it was a good lunch! When I walked in the place was huge, I eventually found may way to the bar and met Mike who was an exceptional bartender. This place is nice and not a normal pizza joint, definitely nice with an exceptional bar and dining area. Now let’s cut to the chase, or the calzone! I kept it simple, spinach, rigotta cheese, and Sun dried tomatoes. It came out steaming hot which is always a great start for me, I just like food hot… like really hot. I cut into this thing and the ricotta just gushed out, yes! The crust was thin and kept it from being a big bread bowl, good flavor, perfectly cooked. The marinara came on the side, it was good, but honestly I could have are this plain and been happy. The spinach and Sun dried tomatoes were cooked well, no chewy veggies, they blended in really well. This with a cold beer ended up being really good and I may just nibble on the way home… what left overs?

I personal didn’t care for their pizza. It had a very strong licorice taste which I can’t stand so I’m taking that they put fennel in their sauce. And all I can say about that is yuck. The crust was nicely done.

Service was good. Pizza was watered down. Grimaldi only offered pizza and salad which was a bit disappointing.

Good pizza and salad… Not a huge selection of appetizers and no bread sticks but thats ok! Our pizza was burnt but they quickly recooked it and did not charge us :) Would eat there again. Nothing amazing but a fun place for a good meal!

By far my favorite pizza in town. I really enjoy their new Brooklyn Bridge pizza(sausage, ricotta, roasted red peppers on a traditional red sauce pizza)! If you aren’t a huge pizza fan their white pizza is unbelievable, but you better be a fan of garlic(in which case get extra garlic!). Ok ok, they also have delicious salads that are masssssivee. This review is almost hard for me because I am struggling not to name every menu item I’ve had and call it delicious. I almost always get a side of pesto, so if you are a pesto lover you are in luck — their pesto is fantastic. As for the only bad things I can say: the sangrias are nothing special, they only serve wine, and the service can be excruciatingly slow. I have had quick service and I have had 1.5 hrs for a pizza slow service before, but I have never left here disappointed despite the issues I’ve faced. I enjoy the environment, I always bring friends, and we always leave raving about how delicious the pizza was. Come here if you have time to chat for a while unless it’s an off hour.

We came to Grimaldi’s one evening before a movie. We ordered a medium pizza with sausage and peppers and caramelized onions. A medium size for he for the two of us was more than enough, but we planned to take our leftovers home for lunch the following day. When our server brought our pizza, he immediately started apologizing, which we were confused about. Apparently, there was one slice that didn’t have all three toppings. We probably would not have even noticed if our waiter had not pointed it out. Before we could say anything(we probably would have just said that it was fine), he told us that they already had a new one in the oven for us! Meaning we were going to end up taking an entire pizza home, because they gave us the«incorrect» one when it was ready. This whole thing tells me a few things: 1) The staff has integrity; 2) This establishment values quality and has standard checks in place to maintain high quality; 3) The staff are enabled to fix mistakes and deliver a positive experience. Oh, and the pizza was delicious! We enjoyed it for several days afterwards :)

Pizza is very good, especially is you like crispy, thin crust pizza. For me, this is the next best choice after Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza and the Star Tavern in West Orange, NJ.

The pizza is great, but oh the wait it is just terrible. Both times we have gone there it has taken at least 30 min to get our pizza delivered to the table. With toddlers that is much too long but once it comes it really is great. Don’t know what they are doing in the kitchen. Making the cheese from scratch?

The food was excellent! Two stars because of the poor building planning… the men’s room door opens right up into the dinning area and shows the urinals in full view… sometimes with guys peein! Nasty, yuck, GROSS! Nobody wants to see strangers takin a wiz when you’re eating! Cmon Grimaldi’s fix it!

Pizza… Recommend building your own… even the small pizza is enough for two and even a to-go box. Chad was our server. We were pretty happy with our creation and the completion by the kitchen staff. True brick oven style. Crust is good. Toppings generous.

Excellent food. Pizza can’t be beat in mount pleasant. Bartender was good, although a little too mechanical for my liking. He’s young, just needs to relax and talk to people like they are people. Overall, I’ll go back many times. Love the fresh basil on the pizza.

Either Grimaldi’s was really good, or I was really hungry after a night out in Mount Pleasant drinking tequila and eating hot pockets. We are there on a Friday afternoon, probably around 2 or 3. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very attentive. It took a while for our food to be served despite the restaurant not being very busy. I will say that the bartender recommended my buddy & I split a pizza to save some money and because ½ a pizza would likely fill us up. I’ll eat there if I end up in Mount Pleasant again.

Average pizza to say the least. Not worth a return trip to spend $ 20 on a pizza and leave hungry. I’d rather spend the money on a great pizza at DeSano or D’Allesandro’s. The salad was great but not with coming back just for salad.

I hate to say it, but I left here a bit disappointed. But let’s start with the positives. The staff was all very friendly and service was great. Very quick and made sure our drinks were full at all times. We had a salad and a pizza to share. The Cesar salad was fine. Not bad but nothing to rave about either. But the pizza fell a bit short. It wasn’t bad but I would compare it to some frozen pizzas. It didn’t impress me. Kind of a soupy like sauce and minimal basic cheese. Pepperonis were just ok. And the menu selections are a bit limited… Which is fine. But if all you serve is pizza, salad, and calzones, you better make some impressive pizza, calzones, and salads. There are just too many great pizza places in the area to come here again and settle for mediocre pizza.

Went for lunch today. It’s a big space for a restaurant so it never seems crowded here. Pizza’s the thing at Grimaldi’s. The ingredients are fresh. But in my opinion the thin crust is just okay. Nothing to write home about. We also had a Mediterranean salad. Also very fresh ingredients but nothing special. The prices are robust. Unfortunately, the food is not. To its credit, however, they use cloth napkins and the service is always very attentive. Grimaldi ‘s also uses glass instead of plastic cups, but the iced tea was a little weak today.

Grimaldi’s is my favorite pizza place in the area so far. We went to the one back in DFW, Texas all the time when my husband and I lived there. I love the brick oven crust, with the black smudges on the bottom from the coal. We always get a small pizza with pepperoni, garlic, kalamata olives, and fresh basil with a Greek salad or caprese to start. The service is sporadic — sometimes it’s great and your food is perfectly timed between the apps and the entrée, sometimes you only see your waiter twice during your entire meal and it takes over an hour for your entrée to come out. Regardless, I love their pizza here and it’s great they have carry-out for when you wanna eat it at home in your sweats while watching Netflix with a bottle of wine to yourself.

My aunt was in Isle of Palms for work and we needed a place to go for a quick lunch. We pulled into the plaza and happened upon Grimaldi’s by chance. It was a pretty nice day out, so we sat in the outdoor section that is covered with string lights above your head. We got a pizza and a salad to share. We got a small pizza, which was 3 slices each and that was more than enough. The pizza is a nice thin crust. We were going to get a large salad to share, but the waiter let us know that their salads were BIG and that a small would be enough for 2 to share. Glad he let us know because he was right. We got the caesar salad. The only complaint was that the only antipasto option on the menu was as a sort of appetizer not a salad(no lettuce).

My friend and I were both near MT. P Town Centre, and decided to meet for lunch. Neither of us had been to Grimadi’s or Zoës Kitchen. The restaurants are next door to each other. From the parking lot, Zoës Kitchen has an appealing look, with a nice sign and patio, plus colorful awning. So we walked in there first to see the menu. As soon as you walk in, it looks like a fast food chain restaurant like Atlanta Bread Company or Qdoba(both also in town centre). The font and pictures used on the menu even made it look like a chain. Not that I don’t eat at chain restaurants, the point was that I would have never guessed from the name and look outside, that this was a chain. So we left and went next door. Walked into Grimaldi’s about 12:30PM, and it was dead. Dead, like three customers dead. That was scary, but didn’t turn us away. We learned really fast after being handed menus why it might not be a popular lunch spot. The double sided menu was one side wines, and the other side salads, pizza, or a calzone. If your not looking to have a liquid lunch or just a slice of pie, this is not the place for you! Regardless of the slim selection, the food was fresh and great! We shared the small spinach salad and personal pie with mushrooms and Italian sausage(6 small slices).

The décor is so impressive. The ceiling lights were wine bottles, pictures and signs from New York, open seating, open oven and a simple menu made the initial impression strong. Shaundra, our server was just perfect. She was friendly, charming, loved to laugh and be silly and provided us with a great customer experience. She brought everything out in a timely manner, let us talk and enjoy our dinner and made us laugh when she spent a few minutes with us. Big Kudos. The thin crust pizza was most enjoyable and filled our hunger needs perfectly. It is a very small menu and for those that don’t want too many choices it is perfect. The salads are quite large so if you get one, it could be a whole meal.
