My first time eating here was not as good as the ratings and reviews make it out to be. First of all there are only about 8 entrees on their dinner menu, they absolutely need more variety than that! Also the entrée myself and my boyfriend ordered were not worth their high price tag in my opinion, and I work at a restaurant and we serve better quality food for less! The atmosphere is cool and historical but I do not like that you can see the server station area in the back, it feels like you are almost sitting in the kitchen(not very classy). The beer list was awesome, really liked the variety there. The soups were good.

Very good food, too much though and heavy. Had Brass Toasted Sandwich with Steak Fries. Son has Burger and Husband Caesar Chicken then finished my meal. Friendly staff.

We’re from out of town and saw the reviews on Unilocal and thought we’d try it. The atmosphere was pleasant and comfortable. My husband ordered a burger(not something he often orders) and loved it. «It just might have been the best burger I’ve ever had», he says. I ordered the Sea Bass dinner and was unfortunately disappointed. I didn’t take a picture of it, but I’ve never seen Sea Bass come with the skin on and about 1“4 inch of thickness. It was very fishy smelling and tasted fishy. It did not taste like Sea Bass. It was covered with onions, usually Sea Bass is paired with Basmati Rice. It was my worst«Sea Bass» dinner. Suggestion: order the burger.

Went to CMU for five years and only ate here once. Such a HORRIBLE decision going to Mountain Town brewery or anywhere else over this place for dates, real dinners, etc. Went her for my wife’s masters degree. Everything was amazing, including the beer selection that’s 10x better than anything at the brewery. All 5 entrees our party ordered were delicious — particularly the duck and lamb shank. Suggestion however: if you actually enjoy steak, get the filet sauce on the side. It’s pretty much an A1 mixture.

The service was extremely slow. I ordered a three cheese flatbread, and they brought out a cheese pizza

This place is good. Quality ingredients make good meals. And the Brass Café does it right. Nice beer selection.

Best place we ate over three days in Mount Pleasant! We went for lunch with two small children, and they had good options for kids, good prices, and good selection overall. The food was better than most places, a step above basic burgers and fries. The service was great, and we liked the ambience of the restaurant. Definitely worth the drive from Soaring Eagle!

What a find!!! This was the most delicious food I have had since landing in Michigan. You must, must, must have the risotto balls as an appetizer. I also had the duck, it was cooked perfectly and just super delicious. All in all great restaurant with creative food! Must try.

Excellent restaurant with very good service. While they don’t take reservations, you can call ahead for priority seating. I had the rib eye, which was very flavorful and cooked perfectly to our specifications. The potatoes and asparagus were excellent as well. The salad was fresh and the bread was homemade and still warm. I’d recommend you go here! It’s very good! The service was also very good.

Absolutely amazing. Everything we tried was incredible. We are in Mount Pleasant all the time and hadn’t even heard of it. Thankfully we checked Unilocal to find a place to eat. We will definitely be back next time we are in town! We got the deep fried quail and the roasted garlic as appetizers and then I got the Panko crusted chicken with goat cheese for an entrée and my husband got the lamb shank. Not only was the food on point but we couldn’t have asked for better service!

Nice bar and grill, trying hard to be an upscale restaurant. Their menu options are ambitious, but sometimes not executed well. Seafood is delicate and can’t just be grilled and slapped together. Stick with the burgers and beer, and they probably do it very well. Service was very good, prompt and friendly. The décor is dated and a bit shabby for their ambition of being a fine restaurant. Beer selection is great with a half dozen crafts on tap, and loads of bottles.

Not just the best restaurant in Mt. Pleasant, the best restaurant in Mid-Michigan. Consistently great and creative menu options. I’ve eaten there dozens of times and the food has always been top notch. I just can’t think of anything bad to say about this place. Also, the owners are very kind and really love the surrounding community. That love carries over into everything about The Brass. Overall, Mount Pleasant is lucky to have The Brass.

This café was very cute and welcoming. I am visiting in the area and to be honest, this small town is a bit of a culture shock compared to most places I’ve lived. We were in search of a local restaurant, not a chain, and came across The Brass and its lunch menu. Their lunch menu was much bigger than expected! There was a wide selection of sandwiches, salads, and flatbreads. I ordered a chicken and prosciutto sandwich with tomato, spinach, herb cheese, asparagus, and mayo. This sandwich came with a side of one of their soups(or salad, chips, fries, or an apple) and I chose the turkey chili. Overall everything tasted wonderful and it was the perfect serving size. We were dressed very casual but I could see this café being more of a fancy date place for a dinner. Our server was very kind and attentive.

I’m so glad I strayed away from the Casino and drove the 10 minutes to downtown Mt. Pleasant. Thank you, Unilocalers, for reviewing this restaurant! I checked it out because of you, and I’m so glad I did. First, it’s very old school in a good way — white tablecloths, brass fixtures, classic food. The service was excellent. I came in a bit early by myself, and the server was friendly and fast. Everything I consumed was top-notch, even the coffee. It seriously was some of the best coffee I’ve ever had. It’s served with these little cookies and a tiny pitcher of cream… heaven. The roasted tomato soup was STUPID good; served steaming hot and oh so savory. The server brought a little side of parmesan cheese because that’s the way he likes to eat it, and he was spot on. I told him that if I worked there, I’d eat that soup every day for lunch, and I wasn’t kidding. This is one of those soups that you know they’ve been making forever. The flavor was so highly developed, and though it’s «just» tomato soup, it was like, the best version ever. I also ordered the blue cheese and nut flatbread, and it was perfect. Cheesy with sweet dried cherries and apples and just enough blue cheese… delicious. If I lived in Mt. Pleasant, this would be my go-to place for lunch. The prices were a little higher for dinner, but I bet the food is amazing. If you’re headed to Soaring Eagle for a conference or mini-vacation, definitely drive the 10 minutes to check this place out. It’s so much better than casino food.

Great house salad and the employees were all very good. I had the fillet and thought it didn’t have much if any kind of a crust on the outside. Also seemed to need more salt and pepper. But fillet is a fairly tasteless cut so it could just be me. The potatoes that came with it were decent, but mashed or something else might have been better. Great décor and Wednesday was trivia night.

All I have to say is WOW! Best burger in a long time. Pretzel bun, ½ lb. Angus beef, Fried Egg, Pan roasted tomatoes, provolone, sweet and spicy bbq saucet and topped off with honey mustard. Yowza!

Unbelievable experience!!! I’ve traveled all over the US for business and this restaurant gets *5* stars not just for Michigan restaurants but the whole US! The serves was fast and wonderful, and Food spectacular! I got the Spicy Veggie Burger YUM! They make it homemade with a homemade sauce I added cheddar cheese and beacon. Trust me you shall not be disappointed! And the House Salad. The greens were fresh and they have their own spin for it that I loved! Ps sorry I didn’t take a picture of the burger as soon as I saw the food it was over! For Dessert lemon cake!!! Wow And the Zeppole!!! Never would have chosen something like that but we loved our waitress and she strongly suggested it, we were very please!!! Normally it’s chocolate and or chocolate! But not this time! Ask for Meghan! She’s the best!
