Jus Jerk

I ordered from them through the seamless app, they gave me dry and super fatty pieces of pork very disappointing. The jerk chicken was also dry I’m not sure if it’s because I ordered late in the day but not satisfied at all. Go at your own risk!!!

Found this place after a rare case of craving jerk chicken. Has to be the best Jerk chicken I’ve had in while. Portions were reasonable, Price was reasonable, Food was fresh and service was very friendly.

I have to apologize. I came here two weeks ago, was blown away but the blissful food coma has just warn off. There is better jerk chicken but you better be willing to fly to Jamaica for it. Truly terrofoc food and friendly staff. Looking forward to coming back here again for seconds, and thirds, etc.

My daughter and I had finished her soccer game in New Rochelle and the wife texted me, asking for jerk chicken for lunch. A quick check on Unilocal showed Jus Jerk in Mt. Vernon, about ten min away. It is located off exit 10 on the Hutchinson River Parkway, in a commercial neighborhood with plenty of metered street parking around it. The shop is small and clean, definitely a takeout joint (although they do have tables), and as you walk in, the smell of jerk and good food greets you.
The menu is simple and easy to order from. I got a large jerk chicken meal and a large jerk pork meal, both of which came with rice and peas and vegetable. They ask you what sort of jerk sauce you want on it, mild or hot.
The day I went, the owner was there, making sure things moved along well and he was pleasant and we talked for a few min. The staff was efficient and friendly, making sure I got my order and was on my way in two or three minutes. And most importantly, when I got home, my wife declared both a jerk pork and jerk chicken were out of this world. The large portions in both jerk meals ensures there will be enough food for two or three meals. Jus Jerk provided a winner both in terms of service and food quality/​taste and I will definitely be back to check out some of the other items on the menu.

Stumbled upon this place and decided to give it a try, the jerk chicken DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!! It is juicy and has just the right amount of spice. Their sides are not great just ok (–1 star)… but the chicken is a must try.

Been meaning to try this spot for some time now. However, the jerk chicken was very disappointing; I’ve had better jerk chicken from Poppy’s Deli on Sanford Blvd in Mount Vernon. I know good jerk chicken when I taste it. This stuff lacked heat and seasoning, and I got mostly thighs instead of a nice mix including breast, wings, and legs, especially considering I ordered two jerk dinners. I was expecting more from a spot with «jerk» in the title. Also did not appreciate the judgmental looks from the clearly homophobic guys that work there. Will not be returning.

Amazing jerk!
I was looking for a place to order a platter of wings or baked chicken for an event I was heading to on November 26 and I came across Jus Jerk. I reached out via email but by the time they got back to me, I had already found another place to order from. I bookmarked it and decided to stop by to see if it was good for future events.
When I arrived I was greeted by a young woman who said she remembered my email and that they wanted me to try the chicken on the house because they stood by their product and knew that I would be back. I thanked them and said that if it was good I would definitely use them for my next event. So I took a few pieces of chicken to go and took a bite as soon as I got to my car and… OMG it was mouth watering!
Fast forward to today January 28.
I kept my promise and reached out to them for a few platters for an event I hosted. My food was ready on time; the price was great; they remembered me from November; they were super friendly and all of my guests raved about it.
I will definitely be back.
My only word of advice is that you should have a little patience. What they do well is jerk so if you are looking for world class service or a super responsive email exchange, you are at the wrong place. Just go about it by imagining you are grabbing jerk from a local spot in Negril… Then proceed. I would advise to call vs email.

Awesome, awesome. This portions are plentiful. I got a large jerk pork platter with rice and peas and veggies. It is a shareable size and is filling. I also purchased two smaller dishes of jerk chicken and re and peas for my family members which was just as yummy. Try a mango carrot juice to wash down any spice too heavy for your palate. I will return.

Jerk chicken was amazing. I was just passing by this town accidentally found this restaurant. Feel so lucky.

The food is satisfying if you want some real caribbean food. The Jerk Chicken is great and the staff is friendly. Good place for Take Out or Pick Up. The location is a neighborhood place, but has the potential to be so much more. Would eat here again. Try it out if you are in the area and looking for some flavorful spicy food.

As someone from the Caribbean who loves Jerk, I have to say that this place is a hidden gem.
There’s no question that it’s a bit of the beaten path, but I recently ordered delivery to Fleetwood this time and not only did I get my order in 15 minutes, but the food was EXCELLENT as usual.
It’s tough to find a restaurant in this area that consistently makes good jerk pork/​chicken, but Jus Jerk never fails and that’s why I’ll keep coming back.
BTW…I’ve been a user of Unilocal for quite some time, but never reviewed a spot. I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to rave about this place.

I had the jerk pork it was tender, seasoned well and juicy. Service is also very great. Kingsley «Ragashanti» Stewart you didn’t lie when you said the food Tun up!!!

Top flight jerk in Mount Vernon! I had driven by the restaurant a few times and always wanted to check it out. Finally got around to trying Jus Jerk and it did not disappoint. We went with the jerk chicken and the jerk pork (medium size order) and both were excellent. The meat maintains both flavor and moisture and the char is just right; the pork was especially good. Make sure to include the festival with your order. Bottom line, if you’ve got the bug for some excellent jerk make your way to Jus Jerk, it delivers!

Had To Stop For Some Jerk Pork… Best In These Parts Of The Town! Make Sure To Order a Festival Or Two With Your Meal!

I had to minus a star since I asked for a large order and they gave me a quarter chicken. I didn’t realize until I got home. WTH?! I was thoroughly pissed off. Don’t mess w my food…

On my quest to finding a good «jerk» chicken spot in the north Bronx to lower Westchester, I came across this place. Chicken was nicely charred and seasoned nicely but it was missing something. I also liked the option of pouring my own sauce on the food. And for $ 4 for quarter chicken cant beat that. Othet places will charge $ 5 $ 6 or even $ 7 for chicken only. I think I may have found my new «jerk» spot or say my #1 jerk place.

Just drove from New Rochelle to try this jerk and I was not disappointed. Ordered a large jerk chicken meal which was a very large portion of meat, rice and peas, and fresh vegetables. The jerk is one of the best I’ve had and that includes many in the Bronx and lower Westchester. Perfectly seasoned, smoked, and moist. Lots of care went into that meal! A little out of the way but I’ll certainly go back. If only they would open another spot in New Rochelle!

Excellent Jerk! I had passed by Jus’ Jerk several times meaning to stop in but for one reason or another, not had the chance to. Well, I finally fixed that and stopped in this week and ordered the Jerk Pork and Jerk Chicken with rice and peas and cabbage. I should preface this review by mentioning I am a Jerk connoisseur. I have no patience for a place that sells Jerk anything by just cooking the meat and pouring wet sauce on it. That is not authentic Jerk.
That said, Jus’ Jerk is not that place. The jerk pork was charred perfectly with just the right amount of singe on the fat. A smokey, spicy taste. The Jerk chicken was moist, (even the white meat) and falling off the bone. That’s something a lot of places don’t get right.
I topped off my order with the homemade hot sauce. I was warned that of the three homemade sauces on the counter, I picked the hottest. No problem.
If you’re in or near Mount Vernon and looking for excellent Jerk, definitely check out Jus’ Jerk. I found my new spot for sure.
