Kept me waiting for more than 1 hour. First about 35 minutes in the waiting room. Then almost 30 minutes IN the exam room. The doctor seemed to rush me through once he did get to see me.

I saw Dr Carey once for a regular eye exam. My previous ophthalmologist was in San Jose and Carey was in Mountain View so I guessed I could save some time by trying out a new eye doctor. What a terrible disappointment. I am very slightly near-sighted. I don’t wear glasses except when I drive which is rarely as I work at home but I do lots of reading without glasses. Carey recommended Lasik out of nowhere. I didn’t even bring up the subject. The advantage, according to him, was that I would not need to wear glasses when I drove. When I asked him if that meant I would have to wear glasses when I read, he admitted that that was true. What a crook!

I had a regular appointment here. The exam went well, and the staff was friendly. EXCEPT… they had to do a special photo of my eye, which could only be taken at their San Jose office. Why did they schedule an exam for me there, if I had to go to their other office? Why not even have the machine there? Why even HAVE two offices if one of them is going to be incomplete? LOCATION: Their office is located all the way in the back of the maternity building at El Camino Hospital. I hadn’t been here since my nephew was born in 1994. Very weird location and you’re going down a hallway not very sure where you’re going.
