Since I’ve moved to Los Altos, I’ve been searching for a taqueria that can hold the candle to some of my favorite spots in Santa Clara and West San Jose-Willow Glen. Unfortunately, this place is not one of them. We got there at around 5pm on Sunday, and I got the sense the staff just really wanted to get out of there. Since we had our puppy with us, I had my wife go in, order what she wanted, and then come outside to watch the pup while I ordered. They skipped her order entirely and made mine! They stuffed the burrito with rice, and I tasted mostly sour cream, the rice, and bland carne asada. My wife’s burrito was cold! They shafted me on the chips and I had to go in to ask for some! Where will it all end?! Super burrito? More like super disappointment! As the great Chris Berman would say… C’mon Man!

I’ve never before eaten shrimp tacos that had absolutely flavor. I mean nothing. Nada. Not even salt. Sorry to say it, but the food in my high-school cafeteria was better than this.

This location hasn’t been nearly as good as the original location on Middlefield. I don’t know why but the food hasn’t tasted the same as the original. However, now that the original location has been closed. I can only hope that this location gets better. I’ll give it a try soon.

Got a takeout burrito from this place when I got into town late. Was decent enough and they were kind enough to add guac to mine when I asked. The carnitas pork was tasty, and mostly moist, but the burrito had an awful lot of rice in it which diluted the flavour a bit. I’d go back for take out again and maybe get the Super Burrito(for more flavour, shame the size is larger though.) and ask for less or no rice next time.

My boyfriend can finish almost any burrito, but he could not finish this one. These are huge! We ordered horchata along with 2 super burritos. We had to ask for the chips to get some, so be sure to ask because they come with your meal! The salsa was off to the side but the cups were super small so you could barely put any salsa in it which was kind of annoying. We just poured the salsa over the chips instead. Carnitas Super Burrito: The carnitas are sooo good here, super crispy on the outside but moist and chewy on the inside. The super burrito came with a very generous portion of guac, sour cream, rice, beans, cheese, lettuce&jalapenos(but you have to ask for these two things to be specifically put in). I thought the jalapenos were really good with the burrito, so be sure to ask! You can choose either pinto or black beans but if you don’t state which one they just give you the pinto beans. You can also get a wheat or spinach tortilla if you like that option as well. Be sure to know your options here!

Burritos are great. I haven’t had such a nice grilled chicken burrito anywhere else. I liked the service too. We didn’t have to wait for long after placing our order. Do come here if you are very hungry. This wa one of the good places that we found to be Open, on the Castro street, at around 4pm on Saturday. Also, you get awesome food just for few bucks. Not expensive at all. Giving 4 stars, only because the place outside the restaurant doesn’t belong to them.

I enjoyed my plate of carnitas. Very good flavor, not greasy. Décor: upscale and clean. Request to sit outside on a sunny day. Customer service: fine.

My boyfriend and his roommates were looking for a new burrito place since moving to Mountain View. I think they’ve found it! I’ve only had the carne asada and carnitas burritos so far, but both are very tasty. I also LOVE their spicy salsa. I wish the jalapenos were fresh instead of pickled and please everyone note the churros are delivered Monday, Wednesday and Friday so don’t make the mistake we did and get 3-day old churros on a Sunday night. Overall, delish!

Super burrito, el pastor with lime juice, and tapatio sauce=brown, fatty happiness. This burrito was so filling that – after eating at 7:30PM – when I woke up in the middle of the night at 4:45AM, I was still stuffed! I’ve been to this La Bamba 3 times or so(and the one that’s more of a hole in the wall about 3 times as well), and for some reason I’ve only ever gotten the carne asada super burrito. NEVERMORE! I might try the super burrito with carnitas or lengua, but the al pastor prompted me to write about this place. They have a little salsa bar with 3 types of salsa and kinda watery guac that’s not too bad. However, they also have jalepeños, pickled carrots, sliced up radishes, and lime that I enjoyed. Their agua fresca is okay(strawberry tastes like melted daquiri sans alcohol and pineapple reminds me of blended can pineapple). I’m sure I’ve had the horchata before, but it wasn’t super memorable. They have a little bar that may only be open on Fridays/weekends? But they still have bottled drinks(beer included) available on a daily basis.

Oh man. The carnitas here is DELICIOUS. The salsa is spicy and delicious. The burritos are HUGE. Not too busy on a week day lunch and you can typically get your meal quickly. Salsa is self serve and all burritos come with chips. Nom!

I grab burritos and tacos from here from time to time and it is very convenient since it is close to where I live for the moment and it is open late. It is good food, but it doesn’t measure up to the original La Bamba. I’d rather make the drive and go to the original. I’ve only gotten take out from here, never dined in. Once, while waiting, I grabbed a drink at the bar, but didn’t stay long so I can’t say much about the atmosphere.

Carnitas super burrito review only! I think this is the least impressive of all the Bamba locations. The Old Middlefield location is obviously the original so everything’s in relation to that. The Rengstorff location is good too because the lady who used to work at the original location manages this one. No one I recognize is at the Castro one, which I thought would be ok, but it clearly wasn’t. The rice tasted really lousy and the carnitas were not crisp. A friend had a quesadilla and it was a massive grease bomb. This Castro location is the farthest out from our work as well, so you can bet we’re probably not going to come back here anytime soon.

Stick to the other two locations in MtV if at all. I heart the original La Bamba’s super burritos and have been venturing to the other locations. The appeal of the DT Castro location is it’s full bar but my last experience has me not looking to come back. I’m not very easily offended nor grossed out but when I sat down to the bar with a burrito and poorly made margarita, the bar tender’s loud conversation about cunnilingus with a less than hygienic girl completely made me lose my appetite. The amount of detail described in her(the bartender’s) story was enough for me to put down the burrito after two bites gagging. Also came to find out with the person I was with that while I was picking up my burrito that the bartender had made my margarita wrong, looked around to see if anyone saw, and once she noticed he had, said ‘damn you caught me’ and poured it out to make it the way I had ordered. I only rate La Bamba a 2 rather than 1 star because I recognize it’s a review for the business as a whole, not just for one bad employee. The few bites of the burrito I had were pretty tasty.

I thought this place would be amaizng based on the reviews on Unilocal but for me it fell short. I got a carne asada super burrito and when I bit into it, my burrito was cold. wierd right? also the meat wasnt really flavorful and for some reason, i feel liek the super burrito had too many ingredients and it was overwhelmed but it

I spoke too soon. The non-burrito items are not that great, but I had an al pastor burrito tonight and it was the size of my forearm and delicious. You could easily get 2 delicious meals out of it if you had enough self control to avoid devouring the whole delicious thing in one sitting! The staff are really nice too.

I usually get a carne asada wet burrito. VERY filling and delish. Favorite burrito joint in MV, but I won’t go out of my way to go here. Good, quick service and outdoor seating as an option.

There’s a slight difference between this La Bamba and the La Bamba on Middlefield Road. For starters, the Castro Street location doesn’t look like a hole in the wall like the Middlefield location so that means the place is cleaner and more likely to pass the health inspection. As a result, I felt the taste isn’t as good as the Middlefield location. The beef taco, and the pork taco are the 2 I recommend. I apologize for not remembering the Spanish names since I’m Spanish illiterate despite taking 4 years of Spanish in high school 10 years ago. The more cost effective solution is to buy a burrito instead of 3 tacos since the burrito will fill you up more even though 3 tacos should satisfy most women and men with small appetites. Add a soda and you have a killer combo!

Went to Taqueria La Bamba cuz I had a BOGO(Buy1 get 1FREE) coupon. Got 2 lengua regular burritos $ 5.55+ 1 alfajore cookie $ 1 for about $ 7 something. Cashier didn’t give me a receipt, can’t remember cost. Nothing special about the burrito. Flour tortilla, black beans(i requested), lengua(beef tongue), salsa. They have a salsa bar so help yourself to it. Alfajore cookie — just ok, nothing special. Asked for water — got a glass & filled w/ice & water from self-serve soda fountain. Separate bathrooms by the bar. Key was outside of the door — take it with u when u go in. Credit cards taken.

I am honestly surprised this place doesn’t have higher reviews. Their al pastor tacos are the best tacos I’ve had near palo alto that’s in a restaurant that’s not too shady /in a decent location with easy parking. Delicious meat, just the right amount of spiciness. I’ve seen people eating their monster burritos too and it looks delicious. Anyways, bottom line: al pastor tacos. cheap and yummy.
