I used to live literally down the street and never set foot in here. Of all the places in MV that has never changed it’s this place. Selections are pretty standard and there’s this weird large wooden structure in the middle. Got a Jarritos mineral water to go and made my way into the night

As everyone seems to say…“OK selection, a little pricey” I gotta start with that too. The location is incredibly convenient with lots of parking. For a liquor store the beer selection is impressive, and the fact that they carry ‘mexican’ cokes is pretty cool! I’m not a wine drinker but their stock looks pretty big to me when you add in the downstairs. Lots of snacks to choose from as well! Will I be back? Of course!

This is a great place to stop at before the weekend to stock up on drinks. They have such a wide variety and its location is right on the corner can’t miss it.

Great selection of liquor and wine. I like how they have basement full of wine and have wine chiller room. Good prices and great service!

Decent Liquor Store with a convenient location to me. Guy who works here is a little on the gruff side, but this is a good spot to grab a bottle of wine or liquor.

After driving past this place for decades, I stopped in recently. A buddy says this place has been here since the 1970s. That’s probably right. Looking at the store from the outside, you wouldn’t expect the square footage inside. Pros: I thought the selection here was very good. Whether you’re looking for Bud Light Lime or Schneider Weisse, these folks have it. They had a variety of Schneider Weisse I’ve never seen. There’s a solid variety of cold items from pre-mixed, Club canned Margaritas to Mexican Coca Cola with caffeine and real refined sugar. The wine selection is expansive if it suits your tastes. They have stuff I’ve never seen at BevMo.(Do I need eyeglasses?) Cons: not wheelchair accessible, a little pricey. I’ll go back soon.

All right, so the selection isn’t the absolute tip-top, and the prices are a bit higher than you’ll find at BevMo… But I’ve always enjoyed friendly service here, and the chilled room of white wines and champagnes is pretty classy. I actually find this place one of the less-seedy liquor store options on El Camino. It’s convenient and quick, and it’s got bubbly things… can’t imagine giving any less than three stars for a place that keeps my flutes filled!

Like other reviewers have said, only go here if you are in a hurry. Nothing special about this place, perhaps save the amount of porn that they have in various locations around the store. The cashier looked pretty disgruntled, too. All in all, a seedy place that pales in comparison to the BevMo on San Antonio.

Only if you’re in a hurry should you come here. Their selection is not that great and their prices are a little high. I’d rather check out Bev Mo. And I agree with the other reviewers. For a place called Wine Press, they don’t have a great selection of wines.

Have to agree with Mary that the wine selection is not what I expected to see from a place called Wine Press. Two starts for selection. They DO have the generic top ten wine labels from Napa in the big, standard varietals, but don’t expect that best buy 93 point Cote du Rhone. I did not notice super-inflated prices, but judge for yourself. $ 8 for the yellow tail merlot, $ 21 for a Sterling Cab(both current release). To give an idea of what their selection is like, they had Taylor, Grahams, Sandemans, and Presidential ports from current release going back to a 20 year tawny or 40 year for Graham or Presidential. Four stars for an owner/operator that cares. They seem to have cleaned the place up since Mary’s review(Perhaps as a result?), though it still has the feel of a Qwikee mart with a drive through window(based on it’s arrangement on the lot and parking paths). But the owner’s service was extremely helpful and attentive without being pushy. The subterainean cellar IS funny, though I will say I kind of dug the ambience of it it :-) Perhaps with a caring owner, if this place prospers, some capital will get put into expanding inventory and offerings and living up to its name. We can hope right?

From the outside, The Wine Press has all the ambiance of your typical Qwikee Mart. Several signs posted on the exterior walls discourage loitering and drinking on the premises. This must be among the greatest of temptations, however; the crumpled newspaper inserts, scratched off lottery tickets, and ageless food waste that populate the bushes really makes the place feel like home. Inside, you are offered your choice of sodas, energy drinks, candy, and overpriced six-packs. For such a small store, it does have a respectable breadth of liquor offerings, but you can’t help wondering how much broader it could be if they would clear out the subterranean, subpar wine cellar. I mean, really, does Yellow Tail deserve such fine treatment? Expect anything you find at Trader Joe’s or BevMo in the $ 7-$ 15 range to have a markup of $ 5 to $ 10. Woodbridge ain’t gold, yo.
