Macy’s(Lazarus/Shillito’s/Rike’s/Burdines/Bambergers…) is okay. Federated Department Stores owns a lot and the assimilation of so many local names across the country has both strengthened and diluted the brand. If you’re shopping sales, the prices are generally as good as you’ll find anywhere. Otherwise, they’re a bit hefty. The good thing about Macy’s is the staff – they’re friendly – whether it’s in Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, California, Florida, or on 34th Street across from Penn Station in New York City. This store seemed rather busy(even though the mall wasn’t) and department stores tend to crowd, errr, maximize floor space, so you have to be a bit careful where you walk. The best thing about this store is that it’s in a small town like Muncie. They’re very choosy about their locations.
