I usually don’t trash businesses unless I have been ripped off and/​or completely duped! In this case, BOTH.
I walked into this small shop and «interviewed» Mr. Burnett because I wanted a relaxing & enjoying experience for my husband for Father’s Day by «treating» him to a straight-​razor shave and a hot towel! Seems simple, right?
Well, after expressing to him that 1) my husband is VERY PICKY about his facial hair being trimmed just-​a-​certain way; and 2) has EXTREMELY (and I couldn’t stress that enough) sensitive skin so he gets bad rashes and ingrown hairs if superb products aren’t used and shaving in the proper direction are not followed, Mr. Burnett assured me that he is a «Master Barber» and has only the best products and techniques that he uses on his clients!
I purchased a gift certificate from him and gave it to my husband! My husband made an appointment (where he was left waiting because another man was already in the chair) and proceeded to be, what can only be described as, TORTURED!!!
He cut my husband’s goatee all wrong (short and thin — not the way my husband wears his), he actually cut his face with the blade (Master Barber my bahookie!), he scrubbed the sandpaper-​like hot towel into his already burning skin until my husband had to beg him to please stop and remove it, and then (to add insult to [literally] injury) he put an antiseptic on his neck which burned and stung again!
He came home dripping in anxiety sweat and his neck looked like he had a severe sunburn on it! Also I could see that the «lines» of his goatee where not even, and places where the blood had started scabbing. My husband was angry, swearing, and still a day later saying how he can’t believe this guy did [this or that] to him!
WHAT A HORRIBLE FATHER’S DAY GIFT! I couldn’t apologize enough for sending him to this torture chamber! I firmly believe that this man should lose his license after what he put my husband through…
SHAME ON YOU!!! If I were my husband, I wouldn’t trust ME with any more presents for Father’s Day — I’m mortified!!!
