I love Dr Dortch. I have been seeing him for about 12 – 13 years now. The reason for the low stars is his office staff up front. They have been so rude and unhelpful to me and my daughter multiple times. I have refrained from saying anything until today. My daughter dropped her glasses and they snapped. I called and asked if they could be repaired and was told I wasn’t eligible for new frames but I could take them in. I live in Menifee so it’s a bit of a drive, but I brought them in today. The lady upfront looked up my benefits and I explained to her I would pay cash and I understood my benefits. She again kept explaining my insurance. I told her I understood medical billing because I work in the field. She said «well vision is different.» I tried to make a vision appointment, because my daughter wants contacts and she said why don’t you wait until May when you are eligible. I again said I can pay for it. She then asked the girl next to her if my daughters glasses could be fixed and she asked for benefits! I said all I need to know is if they can be fixed. My daughter gets headaches with no glasses. She barely looked at them and said no. I am an office manager in a Drs office, and I know my girls would never be so rude. I would love to continue to come here, but when we walked out my 12 year old daughter said I can’t believe how rude she was to you. I wish his original girl from his Madison office was still there. I wasn’t even offered an opportunity to purchase new frames for her. They were obviously too busy planning their Christmas party at Shogun to actually listen to their patients.

Have been a patient of Dr Dortch for years. He is a wonderful Doctor, takes plenty of time with me, answers all of my questions, and makes me feel very comfortable while I’m there. The office staff are always very helpful and friendly. I wouldn’t go anywhere else and highly recommend Spectrum Vision Center!

I got some really nice dolce and gabana frames. My daughter got ray bans, she’s 6, and her reading has improved tremendously. I don’t even know how she was reading before her prescription is so strong. My wife on the other hand got her vision checked and she is perfect, and she’s older than me. The front desk was extremely friendly and the prices were great. I used to go to a place in Temecula and was always really rushed. I’m going to keep going to spectrum vision. My daughter is so cute with her pink and black ray-​bans.

They have lost my business! Drove 90 miles for this appointment due to the long term patient care provided by Dr Dortch. I informed Lynda (Office Manager) of the difficulties I had with my schedule today as a result of me coming from out of town. Arrived at 9:00am, with no other patients in the office and the Dr filling in for Dr Dortch walking past me 5 times during that ½ hour doing absolutely nothing, I finally asked «what would happen if I showed up 30 minutes late»? They finally reacted but at that point I was done! As I was walking out the Dr had the nerve to actually laugh at me as I told him how ridiculous it was that I sat there for 30 minutes while he did absolutely nothing. Guess the dude forgot how he gets paid.
30 minutes later I called and asked to speak with Dr Dortch. Lynda gave me an understanding reason why I couldn’t speak with the Dr at that moment. I was informed this was the reason why I experienced the delay I did today. Bullcrap! Out of respect to Dr Dortch I won’t share the reasoning given. Someone else may have fallen for the emotional delivery but honestly, shame on you Lynda for even going down that path and using emotional distress as a scapegoat to you and your Dr’s complete disregard of my time. My time is valuable, my respect to your time was showed in my being early to my appointment.
I wish the best for Dr Dortch, Can’t say the same for the rest.

I’ve been wearing glasses since I was 5 yrs old… This is hands down the best optometrist I’ve ever gone to. I’ve been having so many problems not getting a good prescription and Dr Dortch got me into the best and clearest contacts I’ve ever had! I would definitely recommend him, and my husbands whole family has been going to him for years.

The doctor is amazing and I would continue going to Spectrum Vision, but the office staff is absolutely terrible. The only nice person in the front is the Asian lady, otherwise everyone acts like it is such a burden for you to call or ask questions. Never a hello or a smile, instead it seems like you’re always bothering them.
Also, they never call when your glasses or contacts are ready and when you tell them apparently you’re incorrect because it was «documented» they had contacted you. Well if someone had called me I would have picked them up last week instead of walking around blind as a bat. Don’t argue with your customers and irritate them instead tell them you’re sorry and a mistake was probably made. Its called good customer service. Won’t be going back or ordering anymore contacts here. Too bad the doctor was nice.

I came in to price out some prescription sunglasses and ended up ordering some oakleys. Lynda was a huge help. She was super nice, informative and realistic. Which, for me, being realistic is a big deal. She wasn’t just trying to take my money but helping me with my decision and bringing me to a solution. I went in on Monday, and they realistically quoted me 1−1&½ weeks turnaround time for the sunglasses. I needed these sunglasses for a vacation that I am going on and Lynda made it happen. Not only were the sunglasses in early they were about 4 days earlier than expected. This is a great place to come in and check out any eye wear that you might need. Would definitely recommend to a friend and visit again.

I’ve been here twice. staffs are all nice. Place is very clean. updated technology so that’s a plus! The dr is amazing as well. He makes you feel very comfortable during the exam. Only thing is, it’s a little pricey even with insurance.

Honestly, Nothing beats lens crafters in my book. This place had a descent selection, but a bit pricey compared to others. Took a week and a half to get my sunglasses, which seems b like forever compared to the same day i was used to. Lens crafters doesn’t take my new insurance, but spectrum does.
What really bugs me though, no sunglasses case! I just spent over $ 100 after insurance paid $ 130.. you can’t throw in a case! Bad business. They did give me the original non prescription lenses just in case. That was nice.
All employees were very nice though. Didn’t see the dr since I had a script from another office.

The place is very clean, staff is friendly. In the waiting room they have toys and a TV playing kids movies, perfect if you have little ones. Dr. Dotlich is very nice and down to earth. He took the time to go over my exam and explain directions clearly to me in detail. I saw him three times and he was always on time or took me earlier. Great place! Would come back again.

Dr. Dortch is a wonderful Dr. … very nice guy too … highly reconemd his office … one of the only Dr. to ever be able to fit me with my contacts … thanx Dr. Dortch!!!
