Lowe’s Home Improvement Warehouse of Muscle Shoals

Just moved to the village in Sheffield and renovated my house for two months inside and out. Part of moving is because I retired.
Retired from state contracting so I have shopped more Lowes and Home Depots than the average. Usually I prefer Lowes to Home Depot. In the shoals area however, the personnel at Lowes is so far below standard (not just Lowes standard but standard in general) I make the drive to florance to homedepot now for anything I need. I tallied the end prices I paid at lowes for the last 2 months at $ 12,462. That’s 43 receipts. That’s 43 trips into Lowes. I recently had surgery in both eyes and I didn’t go well leaving me unable to read. I needed assistance on most trips but despite the money I’m spending there I was treated like a problem customer. Hurt my pride like hell. I’m not used to being handicapped having always taken care of both myself and my family without ever needing assistance. Now that I have no choice but to ask for assistance I’m learning a lot about customer care I never noticed before.
I did make several complaints to management over several different dissatisfactions ranging everywhere from wrong items shipped to zero radius mower arriving without the servicing it requires prior to delivery to miss-​rung merchandise to not being allowed to buy clearance items because I require assistance to load them which disqualified clearance. (Manager did discount me a different washing machine the next day when I called to complain but that in no way relieved me the embarrassment of being told I wasn’t good enough to purchase. In the end I wrote a letter to corporate including names dates receipt numbers and incidents legitimately worth complaining about without just being picky, but never got a response. Meanwhile the Home Depot in Florance has really worked hard at making me a customer. More attentive than any other Home Depot I’ve ever done business at. Wish all my large orders I placed at the beginning of the project had been there.

I love this place. I have been a customer of this Lowes location for six years now and they are always very helpful. They also use great installers for contract work (I didn’t even know they did installations).
