Food tasted good and there was plenty of it. Restaurant is lacking atmosphere, needs updates. Curtain rods are in place, no curtains. Nails are in place, pictures missing. White paper covered tables decked out with salt and pepper shakers, nothing more. Waiters were dressed in worn shoes and jeans offering below average service. After spending $ 40 for dinner we were simply disappointed. There are so many other restaurants offering really good food and quality, above average dining experiences. We won’t be back.

Staff is great and they take pride in Tres Locos. Food is good for Muskego, but if looking for great Mexican food, willing to drive into Milwaukee.

Being the only Mexican restaurant in Muskego has it’s perks. I love the Caribbean tacos as a previous review stated. The fish tacos on Friday are also a pretty good way to go. The latin jumbalaya is quite filling and is definitely a take home the leftovers type of serving. I’ve been to this place plenty of times, friendly staff, great management. I guess my only real complaint is the $ 6 rail tequila margaritas, but if that’s the biggest issue, you’ve found a place that does a great job of providing a consistent dining experience.

Tres Locos serves good, basic Mexican food, in a clean environment with great service. That, and it’s in a safe neighborhood.

Best Mexican food around. They make fresh salsa DAILY, The BBQ Burrito is one of my favorite things on the menu and it’s the only place around that will mix your margarita from scratch. Would recommend this place to anyone who likes authentic, homemade Mexican food. Keep up the good work Tres Locos!

The staff and service were very pleasant. That being said, worst mexican food that I have ever had. Maybe even up there with the worst food, period. Definitely not in the way of authentic. The refried beans were canned and completely unseasoned, yuck! The food was not fresh, but microwaved. None of us in our party of three found it enjoyable. If you like the bar and cheery staff experience, then yes this is the place for you. Food experience on the other hand, completely terrible. I won’t be revisiting. :(

The service here is always excellent and they give you huge portions at a great price. The food isnt the best quality Mexican in the area but its a great spot to visit every so often.

I was in the area looking for a pub when I drove past this restaurant. Immediately it caught my attention because of how packed the parking lot was(it was a Saturday night). After stopping at the bar I was looking for I couldn’t help but go check out Tres Loco after I had a few drinks. I was very impressed. I stopped in around 8:30pm and it was not busy at all. The server was pleasant and the menu was very colorful. Not just burritos, tacos, enchiladas, etc. They had a lot of different options that I was impressed with. I ended up with the burrito anyways and that was excellent. Shredded beef and it was not overly big. Very tasty. I would go back and would recommend. Nice atmosphere as well.

Okay, mango margaritas-best in Milwaukee! As far as dishes, I LOVE the taquitos! And I also love the shredded beef burrito, so so good! The staff are very friendly and laid back, which is really great for a relaxing after-work or dinner setting. The owners are always concerned for your dining expeience, and are great people to get to know!

I have been here multiple times and have never had a bad dish or bad service. The workers seem very pleasant and happy to be there(even though it is probably fake, it makes me happy). I also recommend trying the rice here, I’m a sucker for good Mexican rice.

Its above average mexican food. Been here a number of times over my years in Muskego. The food is generally always made well. The staff is very friendly. Guacamole is sometimes a little old but this is most mexican places. Veggie dishes are always good and they dont use lard in their refried beans so its vegan friendly.

Pros: — Extensive menu(I’d recommend the Locos Burritos — two enchilada sized burritos, topped with cheese and red enchilada sauce [(an extra $ 1 for each topping]). Delicious! — Reasonable price for the portion size — Endless supply of chips and salsa Cons: — LOUD and packed on weekend nights. Most of the tables had young, screaming children on my visit near the end of our meal. I’d suggest arriving by 5pm on a weekend night for a quieter meal. — Personally felt the salsa was bland but I do like my salsa spicier, which it was not

While I like the food the service and attitude here is horrendous! We went here on cinco de mayo. While all the tables were full and it was busy it wasn’t any busier than what is expected on a typical weekend night. We had a table for 6. When we were seated the employee just pointed to the direction of our table instead of taking us over there. No big deal except if he had he would’ve noticed there were 5 chairs with 6 place settings. The one without a chair had to stand for about 5min before he had to disturb another party asking for a chair from their table as the staff did not notice. We asked for chips a few times before they were brought out. What was annoying about this was that the waiter said they«pre bowl» the chips so he was waiting for someone to do that. Seriously, can’t put chips in a bowl on your own?! General rude and short demeanor. Hour wait for our meals. Item that was supposed to come with sour cream did not. One meal was brought 5 min after all the others making that person wait. Odd that margaritas are not served in margarita glasses. The salt goes on the rim, not IN the drink, yuck. This was probably an accident I’m assuming. Just combine all these things with the incredibly rude service and it makes for a terrible experience. I would’ve had a better time eating Taco Bell at home. While waiting I posted on their Facebook that the service was rude and slow. Rather than taking the opportunity to inquire about the situation or apologize, this is the response I got. A bunch of excuses mixed with rudeness and disdain for me as a customer. It is rare I take the time to write a negative review but I was so perturbed I had to. «As a policy we rarely respond to negative comments but this one struck a cord with all of us… its cinco de mayo. The busiest day for any Mexican restaurant. I apologize if you felt your server was crabby but more than likely he was completely in the weeds and just didn’t have time for chit chat. Also while we are at it… a direct conversation with management or your server is a far better outlet for complaints than practically anonymous complaints on the Internet. Just because you can does not mean you should. We are all people doing our best. If you have a problem just speak, face to face with us. Otherwise its just web junk. We would have been more than accommodating in person. Have a great day»

Tres Locos is the place we always seem to go to for work lunches. I give it high marks for food, and a mediocre rating for service. The food has always tasty, and the portion sizes are large. The drink menu looks tempting, but I need to wait until I’m not there in the middle of the work day to do a taste test of the margaritas. However, I’ve had slightly inattentive service the few times that I’ve gone. This was probably just a fluke, but one time our entire group had to wait 45 minutes for lunch, while we watched tables around us receive food that was ordered after us, making us late back to work as a result. Also, prices aren’t expensive, but they’re not cheap either. I wistfully dream of Chicago prices for Mexican food… No doubt that we’ll be back, but we might check around for other possibilities in the meantime.

Of course, they start you off with chips and salsa. Have always been good. Flavor of fresh tomatoes and not too spicy. i usually have their cheese enchilada with beans and rice. Prefer that to soft taco shell tacos. Sometimes i get the spinach enchilada and once the asparagus. Normally i just get the house enchilada. All are good. I am able to get it without onion which to me means they prepare it onsite, not from a prepackaged one. Their iced tea is good with full tea flavor versus powder mix. Servers are attentive. BUT they added 18% tip to the bill for two ppl. Is that because we used a $ 3 off coupon or is it standard. Actually, service was so good i would have tipped 20% but didn’t because i hate being forced to tip.(I understand the need for same when you have a larger group but for 2 ppl?)

Tres Locos is a miss for me, which is sad because how great would it be to have an amazing Mexican restaurant within 2 minutes of your house?! You get small portions that lack flavor yet come with a hefty price tag! Also, impossible parking & no good waiting area when busy! You’ll be crammed in the hallway or the tiny bar area, even if there are people eating in there. Ordered a margarita too, and it got served in a regular glass — not that a margarita has a requirement of coming in a margarita glass — but isn’t that part of the fun? Part of the flair?! I want the flair! Also — they have listed on the menu that each table will get ONE bowl(and they’re TINY) of salsa per 2 people, and each additional bowl is $ 2. This is absurd to me. For my money, I’ll go to a different Mexican restaurant where the salsa(and food for that matter) is better, and I get as many FREE refills as I can eat!
