Well, this was delicious. Wild Bill’s, a new food truck in Mustang, was at Pack the Park held at the Mustang Community Center last night. They were serving BBQ sandwiches, hot dogs, frito chili pies and the special«Wild Bill» which is nachos with brisket on them. The menu was straightfoward, nothing fancy — which was nice because they stuck with Oklahoma BBQ basics. I had the«Wild Bill» and the hot dog — don’t judge me — I was hungry. I don’t know what sort of weenie they used in that hot dog, but that may be the best hot dog I’ve ever had — and I’ve had my fair share of hot dogs. It was plump and juicy, and wasn’t dried out or tough as though it’d been on the roller all day. The bun was also fresh. Sometimes at food trucks the buns can get dry, like they’ve been sitting too close to the oven for too long, but clearly Bill’s kept theirs sufficiently away from heat sources. The«Wild Bill» which was nachos with BBQ brisket on top were also delicious. They were your basic event-style nachos, but the BBQ brisket really made a difference. I don’t know what«Wild Bill» does to his brisket, but he should keep doing it. The sauce was sweet and tangy and the brisket was really tender. I have a feeling that you could have slathered it on top of Styrofoam and it would have been tasty. The man clearly knows his way around a BBQ pit. If I catch them at another event, I am going to try the BBQ sandwich because I saw a ton of people ordering those and they looked really great too.
