Food Is mediocre for the price. Although the ocean view is nice and the overall appearance is good, do t wipe your fingers across the napkin holders, window sills, tables, or look under, the, tables… pretty nasty

Unfortunately, and there’s no use sugarcoating it, it’s a pretty terrible restaurant. BUT — that said, I’m sure it’s perfectly fine for waterfront cocktails! My mom and I stopped into Barnacles for breakfast since we were staying at Springmaid next door and although it was pretty empty, service took way too long. I ordered a steak egg and cheese wrap which came out pretty cold(cheese wasn’t melted, steak was tough) although my mom’s ham egg and cheese was fine. They ran out of cream for coffee(whaaat?) but were able to dig up a mini milk carton for me. Maybe lunch is better? Somehow I’m not too confident…

BARnacles is your basic beach good… burgers, fries, etc. It wasn’t fancy by any means, but food was satisfying, and service was friendly and efficient. The daiquiris had a good balance or alcohol and were priced averagely. The view is great! I would definitely go back on my next visit to town.

Service is great but food selection and taste are so one star. Mostly fried you can get just get in fast food chain.

Save your money and go somewhere else. Food is terrible and way overpriced. I paid $ 10 for a hamburger with their homemade potato chips which were mostly not crispy and too soft. Burger was thin and tasteless. My hubby’s two fish tacos($ 12) consisted of a ½“x½″ by 1−½″ piece of fried fish on each limp flour tortilla with chopped lettuce and tomato with a squirt of some kind of mayo sauce. Once again, tasteless. Our server was very nice. The iced tea was good.

We stopped in after fishing on the pier 6÷4÷15 sat at the bar and watched the bartender do a fantastic job. We ordered grouper platter and salad, we were pleasantly surprised. Blackened grouper was tasty and after a few happy hour beers we went back to the pier. Hats off the the bartender! sorry it may have been Blake? Young man of color.

The food was pretty bad. Everything was way too salty. It was pretty low quality even for bar food but cost as much as a decent restaurant.

The view is great and there is a pier to walk out on. Although you have to pay to go out on the pier if you aren’t staying at the nearby resort. My hamburger was pretty terrible. It was definitely a low grade frozen patty along with low quality frozen fries. Friendly service but needs to work on the quality of their food.

My family walked down to the pier and decided to have lunch yesterday(4−10−15). Our waitress was nice, but rarely seen. Our food was decent, but definitely ‘bar food’. The burgers were pre-formed, and possibly even frozen. The meat on the chef’s salad was lunch meat rolled up, and the kids grilled cheese came on wheat bread. The wheat bread wasn’t exactly horrible, but had my son known that, his lunch choice would have been different. I ordered one of their signature drinks, and they were out of one of the ingredients. The lunch bill for a family of 5 was $ 75. That may not seem horrible for a family of 5, but we could have went to Applebees, spent less, and had a better experience. I don’t see us returning for anything other than a drink, possibly.

Great service, friendly waitress and good location. Ordered a Tuna Melt and a bowl of Clam Chowder. The Chowder was fresh from the can. If you are selling sea food on a ocean front location, it should be authentic and fresh not from the can. The Tuna Melt sandwich was cold tuna salad, slice of cold American cheese on toasted bread. Nothing melting here. It was served with fries and it was good but not whatI ordered.

This was my first negative experience at Myrtle Beach. My wife and I decided to eat inside the the restaurant, rather than ordering at the pier window so that we could catch a few minutes of the NFL games and complete their«Blazing Wing Challenge.» Much to my disappointment the restaurant was out of the sauce for the Wing Challenge. My wife ordered a tuna wrap with a house salad in place of fries. I settled for the Diablo Chicken and a water as the selection of beer was very unappealing, unless of course you’re into the watered down domestics. When the waitress brought my wife’s order to the table, she brought fries instead of the salad my wife had requested. When she brought my «Diablo» chicken, I took one bite and all I could taste was charred meat. Given the lacking selection of beer, I tried to use fries dipped in buffalo sauce to flush the charred taste from my mouth. The waitress apologized for the sandwich and removed it from the bill and my wife was kind enough to tip the waitress based on what the bill would have been had the chicken sandwich not been burned to a crisp. My advise: If you’re visiting the pier, order from the window as this restaurant is not worth a visit inside.

Barnacles is on the right side of the entrance to Springmaid Pier. There is a to go/walk up window and a menu board facing the walkway. The prices are very reasonable to inexpensive for the area. We got corndogs for the kids and beers for the grownups. After I checked in a Unilocal coupon popped up for free fries and a drink. We went back to the window and showed it to our server and he honored it with a smile. The fries were nice and hot and my children have never met a corndog they didn’t like. Fine dining, of course not, but a great place to grab a bite on the pier.

We really enjoyed this place. We had lunch there almost every day while staying at Springmaid Resort and loved the fact that we could just walk from the Beach to the pier for a quick bite. The burgers and dogs were really good, and their onion rings are great too! Nice place for a mid-day pick me up!

The view from the dining area is still great! BARnacles offers a similar menu to the 2013 season but now it’s changed to a «full» service restaurant offering no silverware, pop up napkin dispensers and a rather large, non-cohesive wait staff which resulted in the food taking a long time to come out. At the nearby bar area a blender they use to make frozen drinks eliminates the ability to hold a conversation. No one present at BARnacles was able to credit me for the Unilocal check in offer. They kept saying that I had to print it out, I don’t think that’s the case as I use check in offers frequently and have never printed one out. I can’t see the«full» service idea lasting too long unless something changed. Other than very slow service, the outside service window offers a good menu with lower prices. There are tables with umbrellas available. They had several musical entertainers during the week we were there, two sets corn hole goals also! Honestly if they could do something about the slow window service and the long line at the rest rooms this area of BARnacles would be great!

BARnacles is located in a very busy area and for that reason I feel the food should be better. They have a smaller menu, offering fried seafood(frozen) and an assortment of burgers. The food is decent at best. If you’re looking to impress or higher end cuisine, don’t go here. That being said I feel their saving grace is the pick-up window. You can order anything off the menu, even though the full menu isn’t listed on the outside board which makes no sense. Walking up and ordering a daiquiri while enjoying the pier isn’t a bad thing. If BARnacles had the food to backup their location, they’d easily be packed every night.

This place is awful. They were out of the clam chowder and bacon. The fried seafood we ordered(calamari, the Pier Platter) was tasteless and obviously frozen. The burger was quite possibly the worst I have ever had – burnt and once again, tasteless. The waitress was friendly and attentive, but seemed apologetic as she was taking away our plates, as if she knew fully well how terrible it was. It’s really too bad, considering the convenient location.

Man they are really wasting a great location. Service was okay but she didn’t even know the price of a bottled miller lite. Ordered the seafood platter to share and a good amount of food if you like shrimp that tastes like leather shoes. Do not waste the $

My mom is not a big clam chowder fan(I am), yet she really enjoyed it here. The waitress was very pleasant. I found it pretty comical that they had had no idea about the«Check in and get ___» Unilocal coupon and the waitress had to get the manager who was also stumped. But they did honor the coupon and were very good sports. The waitress also came by to remind us the happy hour started and made us aware of the specials. Nice touch. The beach view was the tops!

It’s a snack bar/grill on a pier on the beach, certainly not a five-star by any stretch and perhaps a bit high priced traded for the convenience. It’s not overly expensive though and it’s not a bad burger and fries. You’d not want to make the bar a destination but if you happen to be on the pier and want a bite, it’s ok enough. The bar is pretty decent though if you’d like an ocean view and good company with tourist-type visitors to the pier.

The food was ok but it was overpriced for typical greasy food. I was hoping they would have more seafood selections(since it is on a pier and all) that were not fried. There was only one thing on the menu that was grilled and I think that was the grilled chicken. The female cashier was a little rude too, but the bartender was very friendly. Since it was at the resort we decided to eat here and that was the reason why, not the menu selection. I must say the frozen drinks at the bar were great though!
